"Madam, that place is too chaotic, do you want someone to follow you?" The driver, concerned, got out of the car after her.

The driver stopped in his tracks and respectfully stayed in his place.

Su Yiru gripped her cell phone tightly, recalling the video she had just seen. She took a deep breath and then stepped into the eerily quiet pub.

Just like the last time she came to pick up Ye Mingmei, the pub was frighteningly silent during the day.

With every step she took, the tapping of her high heels on the gleaming floor could be heard, contrasting with the dim lighting and heightening the tension.

Yu Xiuzhun just smiled without speaking, stood up from the couch, a glass of red wine in hand, gently swirling it.

His wicked eyes swept a glance behind Su Yiru.

"Mrs. Ye, you’ve got guts coming here alone, aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to leave?"

"Let’s not speak in riddles. You might as well drop the act; your aim was to draw me here."

"If you knew, why fall for it? Don’t you think you’re being foolish?" Yu Xiuzhun chuckled, sipping the red wine lightly.

"This is my family’s matter and has nothing to do with you." Su Yiru frowned deeply.

This was essentially blackmail.

Su Yiru’s expression suddenly shifted to anger, and she turned her head to glare at Yu Xiuzhun.

She scoffed, "I didn’t expect it, Mr. Yu is nothing more than a looter taking advantage of a fire, a lowly rat; I had thought too highly of you before."
