Chapter 1283: Chapter 1283: Where is everyone? How come it’s only you?

He stood up from his chair and walked toward the door.

Yanan, her back to the dining room door, turned around subconsciously when she heard his voice.

Outside the dining room, an elegant lady escorted by a bodyguard stepped into the restaurant.

She wore a loose dark hemp shirt paired with white striped pants, stylish yet simple, making her appear much younger.

She held a white leather handbag in her hand, and black sunglasses obscured most of her face, making it difficult to discern her expression.

She looked to be just over thirty.

When she entered the restaurant, she haughtily scanned the surroundings before extending her hand to remove her sunglasses and handed them to the bodyguard by her side.

Revealing her finely shaped almond eyes.

The aura of nobility exuding from her made one involuntarily hold their breath.

"Mom, you’re late."

Mo Xiyan stepped forward and gave the woman a hug, affectionately complaining.

The woman paused, then sharply slapped him on the head.

"How dare you say that, a single phone call almost turned the house upside down. If it weren’t for your father being entangled with military duties, he’d be here now treating you to ’sticks’!"

"..."

"Where is everyone else? Why is it just you?" The young woman looked around and, not waiting for Mo Xiyan to speak, walked straight toward Yanan.

It seemed she had seen the photos beforehand.

"Mom, take it easy, Yaya is shy, and I’m worried you’ll scare her," said Mo Xiyan as he watched his mother walk briskly, pulling her back slightly and lowering his voice to remind her.

Mrs. Mo then stopped, turned her head and looked at him.

"Undercover relationships, secret affairs, and you have a grandson before telling me, wait until I get home to deal with you!"

As she spoke, Mrs. Mo slowed down her pace. Her stern expression softened when she looked at Yanan, revealing a gentle smile.

Seeing that Mo Xiyan remained silent, she slowly walked forward.

"Yaya, the person I wanted you to meet is my mom—she’s the boss of our family. There’s nothing she can’t handle—why are you still not saying anything?"

Mo Xiyan, being tall, took a few strides to Yanan’s side and, seeing her stunned, reminded her.

"..."

Yanan’s body was stiff as if plastered, her lips moved, but she couldn’t speak.

The shock in her eyes was evident to everyone.

She had never expected Mo Xiyan to suddenly bring her to meet his parents.

And this person was his mother.

Seeing the rushed appearance of Mrs. Mo, Yanan felt even more at a loss.

"Dear me, look at my appearance, I must have frightened the poor girl speechless."

Mrs. Mo looked at Yanan’s pale cheeks, joking with a smile.

She reached out, took Yanan’s hand, and made her sit down.

"Good child, don’t be afraid, your aunt doesn’t bite, and if she does, it wouldn’t be your fault."

After saying that, she immediately turned her head and glared at Mo Xiyan.

Watching their interaction, it was clear that the mother and son had a good relationship.

"Come, relax. Tell auntie, what’s your name?"

"Ning, Ning Yanan."

"Yanan, that’s a lovely name. I knew we’d get along. Can I call you Yaya from now on?" Mrs. Mo affectionately held Yanan’s hand, her voice gentle, as if she was chatting with her own daughter.

"Auntie, Mo Xiyan and I..."

"Are about to get married, and you’re still formally addressing him by his full name; it’s so impersonal. Everyone at home calls him Yangyang, but if you’re not used to it, you can just call him Xiyan."
