Chapter 1255: Chapter 1255: In the End, He Deceived Her

"May I ask if you’re here alone?"

The waiter asked politely.

"No, I’m looking for someone," Ning Yanan scanned the room and saw Jing Yan sitting by a window, staring blankly into space, her eyes flickering.

She signaled to the waiter and walked over to Jing Yan.

She sat directly across from her and looked at her pale face with furrowed brows.

She did not start the conversation.

"What would you like to drink?"

The waiter’s inquiry startled Jing Yan, who then realized Ning Yanan was sitting opposite her.

"A cup of hot milk, thank you."

Ning Yanan hesitated for a second before parting her lips faintly.

She was now pregnant and dared not touch coffee anymore.

The waiter was momentarily stunned, seemingly surprised by her request for hot milk in a coffee shop, before he took the order and left.

Soon, a cup of coffee and a cup of hot milk were served.

Both of them stirred the contents of their cups, neither drinking nor being the first to speak.

Ning Yanan had only taken a half-day off and did not have as much time as Jing Yan.

After sitting for less than half an hour, she began to check her watch frequently.

Lifting her head and seeing that Jing Yan had remained silent, she prepared to settle the bill and leave.

"Do you love him?"

Jing Yan finally spoke in a faint voice, having seen Ning Yanan’s movements.

Her question came out of nowhere.

Ning Yanan’s eyes flashed, and she understood but did not reply.

"I’ve fallen in love with him."

Jing Yan continued after a glance at the silent Ning Yanan.

To her, admitting love was not something extraordinary.

But if one didn’t dare even to admit it, then it wasn’t love.

At the very least, she couldn’t see where Ning Yanan loved Jiang Jinchen.

He had done everything for her, yet she had not given him even a little response.

"Ning Yanan’s eyes tensed, and her hand gripping the cup tightened sharply.

Finally, she spoke, "It has nothing to do with me, the person you should be telling is not me."

She didn’t understand, was Jing Yan here to flaunt?

She had fallen in love with Jiang Jinchen, she should confess to him, not make a special trip to tell her these things.

"The person he loves is you, it doesn’t matter whether I say it or not."

Jing Yan gave a bitter smile, took a sip of her coffee, and looked at Ning Yanan.

"I’m pregnant, but he doesn’t want the baby, because of you."

"Bang—"

Ning Yanan’s hand trembled, and the cup in her hand knocked against the table, hot milk splashing onto the back of her hand, but she felt no pain.

Her eyes widened in shock as she looked at Jing Yan.

"What did you say?"

Jing Yan was also pregnant.

Ning Yanan felt as if she had been punched hard in the chest, a suffocating pain piercing through her body in an instant.

Ning Yanan’s lips curled into a sarcastic smile as she slumped into the chair.

A major reason she had agreed to see Jing Yan was that she believed Jiang Jinchen.

She believed him when he said he had nothing to do with Jing Yan, that Jing Yan coming to the U.S. and staying by his side was really just a shield.

But he had lied to her.

He had slept with Jing Yan, and they even had a child together.

What next?

Marry, have a child...

Ning Yanan suddenly found it all somewhat laughable; as she agonized over whether to tell him about her pregnancy, he already had another child.

So much for his profound feelings.

"I’m pregnant, the baby is not yet a month old, you should know, we were originally engaged, and now that I’m pregnant, marriage is just a matter of time."

Jing Yan put down her cup and looked steadily at Ning Yanan.
