Chapter 55: Chapter 55 - A Week Later

About a week had passed.

The average tier in the Barony had now risen to Tier 3.

Sebas had broken through to Tier 7, driven by his determination to become stronger for Lucien’s sake.

Clara had also advanced to Tier 5 and she wasn’t slowing down. At the rate she was progressing, Tier 6 was already within reach.

Meanwhile, the reconstruction of the Barony was finally complete.

And it had happened faster than anyone expected.

There was a reason for that.

Maxim, now in Tier 6 again, had made a deal with Lucien.

In exchange for helping with the rebuilding, he and his people would be allowed to interact with the Essence of Purity.

Thanks to that agreement, progress accelerated at a stunning pace.

Maxim’s over twenty elite escorts followed his every command with absolute precision.

It was obvious... They were veterans that are perfectly attuned to their leader’s exacting standards.

But it wasn’t just manpower.

Lucien’s pets played a major role as well, ensuring there was a constant stream of resources.

Materials never ran out.

Supply lines never broke.

Production never stalled.

With teamwork, leadership and a touch of miracle...

Lootwell was reborn.

Everyone rejoiced when the reconstruction of the Barony was finally completed.

They had changed. Profoundly.

No longer helpless.

No longer weak.

No longer waiting for death to come.

Now, they could stand tall.

Now, they could fight for their future.

All because of their Lord.

Lucien stood silently in the center of the plaza.

It was night and he was alone. He was basking in the quiet triumph of everyone’s hard work.

But this night...

Was no longer dark.

Soft light bathed the stone paths around him.

Streetlights now lined the roads, casting a gentle and radiant glow across the Barony. The flicker of candles was gone, replaced by something far more beautiful and enduring.

Lucien had requested them himself. He commissioned the Craftsman Division to make them using rare materials.

Light Prism. Dropped by Solar Slimes. It was capable of glowing indefinitely as long as mana flowed through it.

Dark Pearl. Dropped by Shadow Slimes. It was a crystal that absorbed light completely.

He had asked the craftsmen to create a mechanism that combined the two.

The result?

Streetlights that would shine through the night and automatically turn off at dawn.

When evening fell, the Light Prism would glow.

But as morning came, the Dark Pearl would rise to cover it, cutting the light.

A system so simple... yet so elegant.

And more than that, it was fueled not with mana but with divine energy in the atmosphere.

The result was breathtaking.

The entire Barony shimmered with a warm glow as if touched by the gods themselves.

Lootwell no longer looked like a broken land.

Now...

It looked like a sacred place.

Three days ago, another major harvest took place.

But this time, things were different.

The people had grown more knowledgeable. No longer did they harvest everything blindly. They set aside certain plants specifically for seed gathering.

Like last time, the harvest began when Lucien "stole" the moment, swiftly plucking the crops and setting off a wave of laughter and cheers.

It had become a beloved tradition by now.

Again, they competed to see who could gather the most. Lucien even promised rewards for the top gatherers, turning it into a lighthearted contest that everyone looked forward to.

Even Maxim joined the fun.

Though... Lucien disqualified him on the spot... for cheating by using magic.

The harvest itself was bountiful and large...

Lucien received a number of drops, similar to those from the Carrots and Radishes before.

Also, he also obtained something he’d been waiting for...

The seeds from the Solar Carrots and Winter Radishes...

Unfortunately, the moment he collected them, the parent crops withered. Still, it was a worthy exchange.

What surprised Lucien most was the quantity.

Over a hundred seeds each from the Solar Carrots and Winter Radishes. While he knew that ordinary crops could yield more, the special crop were far more valuable.

With that many special seeds, Lucien realized something powerful.

He could give everyone in the territory a magic affinity.

And there was more.

Some of the new crops had dropped entirely different types of special seeds.

<Gale Beans>

<Aqua Melon>

<Granite Gourd>

<Zap Berries>

Each name hinted at its elemental nature and Lucien could already imagine their magical properties.

To avoid conflicts between the plants’ elemental traits, he immediately began expanding the garden, assigning them space based on their affinities.

He was excited.

Earlier that week, Lucien also noticed something peculiar.

Unlike monsters summoned through Monster Cards, the wild creatures he tamed didn’t start with full loyalty.

Sparkles, Peek and Aboo each had their loyalty now capped at 99.

At first, it surprised him. Monster Card summons always began at full trust.

But then he smiled.

This was better.

Because when they reached 100 Loyalty, Lucien could copy one of their skills.

That gave him a reason to nurture the bond himself.

He was especially excited about one particular skill unlocked when Sparkles reached Level 30.

Curious, Lucien decided to test it out.

He climbed onto Sparkles’ back.

The unicorn neighed then took a step....

Into the air...

It wasn’t flying.

It wasn’t floating.

It was walking.

Gracefully.

Effortlessly.

Each step shimmered like light rippling through glass.

People who saw it paused in awe, their eyes wide with wonder.

Then came the chuckles and the grins.

They were watching Lucien ride like some airborne knight from an old legend.

No one even questioned it anymore.

Miracles had become normal.

And if Lucien was their Lord... then to them... miracles were just part of daily life.

Another surprise arrived when Skittles returned from the second level of the dungeon.

It brought out something unexpected....

Glowing cards.

Lucien took it.

These cards were different.

"Spell Cards!?"

Specifically, it held Basic Light and Dark spells.

At first, he was confused. Monsters had never dropped Spell Cards before.

Then it hit him.

He now possessed affinities for both Light and Dark Magic and maybe because of that, the monsters had started dropping corresponding spells.

The realization struck him like a jolt of lightning.

"If I acquire affinities for all known elements..."

Then theoretically... Any monster with magic could drop spell cards.

And he could learn them instantly.

No tomes.

No incantation practice.

Just pure, accelerated growth.

Lucien exhaled slowly, the weight of the moment settling on him.

The system wasn’t just rewarding his progress...

It was pushing him.

Urging him.

Rushing him to get stronger... faster than ever.

The newly acquired spell cards can be stored into the MAGIC BOOK.

...

Back in the present...

Lucien shook his head, pulling himself from his thoughts.

He returned to his room.

His gaze then shifted to the MAGIC BOOK hovering beside him. With a thought, it opened and the pages fluttered until they settled on a specific section.

Eclipse Magic.

He began to read.

"Eclipse magic holds the calm of light and the rage of darkness... It can either bring salvation or ruin."

The words echoed with weight.

As he read deeper, Lucien’s expression grew more serious.

The spells were vast.

Monumental.

Devastating.

Most of them were large-scale spells, capable of turning the tide of an entire battlefield with a single cast.

But there was a catch.

They required immense mana.

And they demanded both Light and Dark affinities to function.

Lucien let out a slow sigh.

The power was undeniable but the cost was high.

Each spell was complex and difficult to learn...and even harder to practice.

And at present, his divine energy reserves were too low to train with the more advanced ones.

"It’s not just power... it’s responsibility," he murmured to himself.

Still, Lucien didn’t want to walk away empty-handed.

He wanted to learn at least one spell. Something useful.

He flipped through the pages with purpose... until one spell caught his eye.

His breath hitched.

Eclipse Chain.

It was the same spell the Yin-Yang Slime Boss had used. It left a lasting impression to Lucien.

But as he read the spell’s structure, his enthusiasm was tempered by its complexity.

It wasn’t something he could brute-force his way through.

It required precision.

Timing.

Understanding.

Without hesitation, he decided to copy Maxim’s skill: Perfect Calculation through Cram Session.

"If I can’t overpower it... I’ll out-think it."

With Perfect Calculation enhancing his mental processing and analysis, Lucien sat down and began dissecting the logic behind the Eclipse Chain.

He couldn’t help but grin.

If he mastered it, it could become another trump card in his growing arsenal.

And soon...

He would make it his.

•••

The next day...

A knock echoed on Lucien’s door.

It was Sebas.

Lucien stood up, rubbing his tired eyes with dark circles clearly visible beneath them.

He had spent most of the night buried in the mechanics of Eclipse Chain.

The spell was incredibly complex but with Perfect Calculation, he had finally begun to grasp its structure.

He was close to mastering it.

But for now, he set it aside with a sigh and turned toward the door.

Sebas bowed slightly as Lucien opened it.

"Young Lord," Sebas said with a calm tone. "The heirs of Hornvale and Needlehart have arrived and they bring a positive response."
