Chapter 725: Chapter 86: The Furious Pannis (Word Count Returns to Normal Tomorrow)_1

Blade attacks and blinding light rays formed from Aggression energy, mingled with the explosions of Light Techniques, keep reappearing over and over again on the tundra. Several curious frost spirits have gathered to watch from a distance, though when a few of them are caught in the aftershocks of the battle, they retreat even further away. This intense combat has been ongoing for several hours now. During these hours, none of the three combatants has spoken much, and they haven’t ceased fighting, giving off the most intense collision in their long time together.

However, the range of their battle is getting broader and broader. At first, apart from the hardly occurring bursts of Light Techniques, there were almost no impacts on the surrounding environment. But now, energy waves shooting out from Aggression Blades or scythes often fly out of the combat zone. This is why frost spirits retreated from afar. This occurrence is quite reasonable; in the beginning, they were all at their peak state, with enough strength to contain their energy, so no messy cases of Blades flying randomly happened. But as the battle drags on longer and longer, everyone’s strength is quickly exhausting. So, now nobody has extra strength to contain the energy they emit. Hence, not only are the frost spirits retreating further and further, the ground is also becoming pockmarked and uneven, with more and more fissures and pits appearing beneath the three combatants’ feet.

Pannis is looking rather worse for wear and is breathing heavily. Among the three, only he makes signs of panting. As for the other two, they do not need to breathe to maintain their energy consumption. Despite not needing to breathe, the other two are also in dire straits. Apart from the tear wound on Pannis’s chest, his left thigh has been pierced by a scythe, leaving a translucent hole almost the size of a baby’s fist, and his right arm has been sliced off a layer of flesh, making his upper arm look noticeably thinner. Aske, on the other hand, looks way better than Pannis, his arm has even fully recovered, but his robe has become thin and short. Whenever he is injured and part of his body is lost, he would casually wipe the robe and the robe would turn into loose sand, then gather on and replenish his body. This is one of the Sand People’s unique abilities and one of the reasons they are most difficult to deal with. Being half-Element and half-living creature, they are able to replenish their bodies by using surrounding Elements, just like pure Elemental Creatures. Even when there are no corresponding Elements nearby, they can consume elements carried nearby their bodies to supplement themselves. The cloak and robe Aske is wearing are made of condensed sand and they also serve as his life-saving elemental reserve. However, at this point, these reserves are almost spent.

As for Herr, he seems to be in a better condition than Pannis and Aske. Since the Triclops have a different physical condition from humans or Sand People, the injuries on Herr are much less severe than Pannis. Triclops cannot utilize Aggression, or even the Aggression Shield, but their physical toughness is many times superior to those of Fourth Epoch beings. As long as their strength is sufficient, like Herr, they can withstand a Demigod’s attack on their physical toughness alone. Unless they’re struck at vital points, the injuries they sustain are not too severe. His attacks also work the same way. Although they don’t have the support of Aggression, the power coming from him alone can tear through an Aggression Shield, not like other beings from the Fourth Epoch who, even with a Shield open or supported by Aggression, can neither break through nor defend against a Demigod’s Aggression attack if their strength is not up to the Demigod level.

Of course, even though Herr’s injuries are relatively minor, that doesn’t mean he’s having it easy. After all, when facing defensive lapses under the concerted attack from two experienced and powerful Demigods, a lapse in defense would mean a wound. Hence, Herr now has more than a dozen wounds on his body. However, as he is essentially a half-Undead, these wounds don’t have a significant impact on him, they merely speed up the loss of his energy. Now his most pressing issue is the same as Pannis, having been forced to consume many Light-attribute Elements that have been accumulated in his body over many years, and also a large amount of physical energy, making his fights more and more difficult the same way.

"You guys are pretty persistent." After another collision, Herr retreats a few steps, covering a freshly inflicted wound on his right shoulder, he grits his teeth and says bitterly: "My Lord is on the brink of resurrection. Your efforts are all in vain. Whether you die now or a bit later, the only difference is a matter of time. What are you struggling so painfully for?"

"So you really are trying to resurrect Danacus." Pannis gasped heavily with a cold expression. A few wounds have caused his clothes to be torn open, allowing the cold wind to pour in along the gaps. Even the body of a Demigod has been frostbitten. Thankfully he has been constantly engaged in intense movement, so his body hasn’t frozen stiff. Instead, a large amount of heat was generated from the movement, temporarily preventing frostbite from spreading. However, several hours later, Pannis felt that his physical strength has reached its limit. Even so, he did not have any intention to unlock his Seal to restore his full power. In his heart, he believes that with his current state, he can kill his enemies and gain victory. He believes in this because, after this period of battle, he knows that Herr has a fatal weakness. This weakness is sufficient to lay the foundation for their victory.

"Yes, we have already succeeded. Hahahaha." Herr laughs out loud, launching a psychological assault: "You think by destroying some of the living pillars you can stop our ritual? Stupid beings, the glory of my Lord will descend upon this mortal world once again in his complete Divine Body. Nobody can stop this from happening. Let the mortal beings wait for the arrival of the Light of Judgment."

Pannis’s face shifts into an ugly expression. Everyone already knew about Nellie’s fate deep down, but since they had not seen it firsthand, there was still a glimmer of hope in their hearts. Maybe she hasn’t been possessed by the Divine Soul, and the Divine Soul hasn’t gotten a chance to be resurrected again. But Herr’s mockery shatters their last hope. If Danacus comes back to life in a complete Divine Body, it will mean that Nellie must have been possessed, with her consciousness being devoured. There isn’t a shred of luckily surviving possibility anymore.

"Pat," Aske puts his hand on Pannis’s shoulder. The aloof Sand People assassin is trying to comfort his only recognized partner with his actions. Pannis pats Aske’s hand, forcing a smile while squinting at Herr’s face. After a deep breath, his voice becomes colder than the wind on the tundra: "You did a splendid job, you’ve successfully enraged me. But was that really necessary? Are you truly prepared to face my rage?" ( To be continued. If you like this work, we welcome you to vote for a recommendation ticket or monthly ticket on Qidian.com.
