Chapter 707: Chapter 68: Freya Wants to Faint_1

"Sightseeing?" Freya doubted her own ears, "Sightseeing on the icy plain?"

"Of course." Catherine’s smile was peculiar, and her complex gaze fell on the sack of fur beside the ice table. She said meaningfully, "You must know who built this place."

"Hehe, I’m quite familiar with the handwriting. How can I not know?" Freya mysteriously winked, looked at the perfectly folded coat nearby with a strange expression, and said in a low voice, "It seems that you have also read that letter."

"Of course." Catherine nodded. "I really want to take that letter home and keep it. It’s the most important thing to me if it weren’t for leaving it for the next person who might use this place."

"Ha, I almost forgot, you’re a fan of Lady Nellie." Although Freya had just woken up, she yawned lazily and mumbled, "I still feel so sleepy. I can hardly lift my body."

"It’s not surprising considering the severity of your injury. You lost a lot of blood and didn’t get proper rest or treatment. It’s remarkable that you’re safe now." Catherine spoke with a tinge of fear left from the ordeal. "When we found you, your face was already burning red, and I was worried that the high temperature might damage your brain. Lina said your leg would have been all but lost if we were a day late, or even worse, you could have left this world with it. So, you silly, why didn’t you set the goblin fireworks a few hours earlier? You had obviously already found this place."

"Actually, I just..." Freya turned her head to the side, her eyes wandering. "I was just worried that the visibility would be too low at night. If you couldn’t find me, I would waste the only goblin fireworks."

"Keep making up excuses, as if I didn’t know what you were worried about." Catherine vehemently poked Freya’s brow and scolded, "You can’t second guess yourself in future. Stop treating us as if we are nothing."

"I’m sorry." Freya mischievously stuck out her tongue like a child. "So, you’ve been looking for me all day?"

"Of course. We’ve been searching for you since shortly after the ice storm ended." Catherine nodded, "Pannis and Ava came back and informed us not long after the ice storm ended yesterday. Pannis originally planned to send Ava back and come find you alone but we didn’t agree. We thought it would be tiring but the chances of finding you would be higher if we went together. So we all insisted on going together. Then we aimlessly wandered the ice plain all day. We headed in the direction of the ice storm and surprisingly found the marker you left."

"The ripped coat?" Freya recalled her actions at that time, "I specifically hung the coat on a metal rod and stuck it on the ice layer. You actually found it."

"Yes, that’s the one. We even brought it back for you." Catherine confirmed, "After finding the marker, we thought you’d head back and try to meet up with everyone, so we went back to look for you. But tracking on the ice field is really difficult. There were almost no clues, only a few places had your footprints. Soon afterward, the traces were lost. We could only guess the general direction, and if it weren’t for your firework, we definitely wouldn’t have found this place."

"How ironic." Freya clicked her tongue, "Speaking of which, he made this place. It would be interesting if I had died of cold and hunger here. I wonder what his expression would be if he found my body."

"Who would have thought you could crawl in here." Catherine slapped the girl’s forehead hard, scolding with exasperation, "Every time I think of you hiding here without setting off the fireworks it infuriates me. If you weren’t ill, I would’ve given you a good thrashing."

"I’m innocent." Freya looked around evasively, pretending as though nothing had happened. Suddenly, she noticed Ava, who had already woken up and was staring right at her unblinkingly with her pale purple eyes.

Having realized Freya was paying attention to her, Ava, without any expression on her face or fluctuation in her tone, said, "If you buried something under a mound, would you remember the exact location after many years? No, even after twenty years, especially when there are no landmarks for reference."

"I know." Freya laughed and shook her head, "I didn’t mean to reprimand him just now. I’m not speaking ill of him. You don’t have to get angry on his behalf. Haha, okay, okay, I apologize."

"Oh, then I’ll go back to sleep." Ava closed her eyes again as though she hadn’t said anything, and almost immediately fell into a deep sleep with steady, even breaths.

"You see, you did say something wrong." Catherine playfully pinched Freya’s round face, "Rest more for a while. We already planned it out giving you a day to recover. So rest easy, we’re not setting off today."

" I’m sorry." Freya sighed, "I’ve dragged you all down."

"What nonsense is this." Catherine rolled her eyes and pulled Freya’s cheeks apart with her pinching fingers, "If you say anything like this again, I’ll pinch your face even harder. Haha, you look hilarious right now, you should always keep this expression."

"This is not my natural expression." Freya swung Catherine’s tortuous hand away irritably, shifted a few times in the sleeping bag, and asked, "Has Lina treated all my wounds?"

"Of course, or why do you think we’re giving you a day’s time?" Catherine replied, "If you hadn’t been treated, even a year would not have been enough. Okay, you stop talking nonsense and go to sleep. Don’t worry, I’ll stay with you."

"Yes." Freya nodded earnestly, "I will try my best to recover."

"Yes, recover quickly." Catherine’s voice suddenly became extraordinarily gentle, yet also sent chills down one’s spine, "Recover as soon as possible. Then, we can have a good chat about cookies, iris fruit preserves, honey cakes, and sugar frosted red eggplants."

"Ah, I’m feeling dizzy, and I’m going to faint." After a moment of blankness, Freya suddenly groaned, closed her eyes, and thrust her head back into the sleeping bag. But she immediately pulled her head out from the bag and asked, "Wait, I already destroyed some of the evidence, how do you know what I brought?"

"Hey, hey, you forgot to destroy those cloth bags." Catherine gritted her teeth, "Don’t forget Pannis’s nose. Anyway, I know you’re in big trouble this time, dear princess."

"Ah, I’m fainting." Freya screamed, tilting her head to play dead. (To be continued. If you like this novel, please visit qidian.com to vote and recommend. Your support is my biggest motivation. Mobile users please visit m.qidian.com to read.)
