Chapter 625: Chapter 91 Separation_1

"Well, you could just turn your head away." Lina grumbled, kicking at the air in dissatisfaction. She glared at Pannis and said, "How long are you planning on staring? Don’t you know when a lady is changing her clothes, it’s impolite to stare? Actually, it’s never okay to stare at a lady like that. And would you please wipe that drool off your mouth corner? It makes you look like a pervert. No, no, no, not ’like’, you are a pervert."

"N-no, I swear I wasn’t looking at her n-naked body, really." Pannis responded defensively, instinctively wiping his mouth corner and shaking his head hastily, "I was just contemplating life’s philosophy. Hahaha, she’s just a child. Why would I be interested in a kid who looks only around eleven or twelve years old? Hahaha, you misunderstood me, really."

"It seems your defense range has now dropped from fourteen years old to twelve," Catherine said, placing her hand on Pannis’s shoulder from behind and speaking in a sombre tone, "I’m now worried for Michelle and Ansha’s future safety. We need to have a serious talk, dear Mr. Pannis. Do come over and chat with me."

"Don’t pull me, somebody help!" Pannis was waving his arms desperately, but Catherine dragged him away by the collar, leaving only his pitiful cries for help behind with the girls.

"Now’s the chance, quickly help Ava change. Ava, open the lid of this box." Lina tapped on the transparent lid of the vitality pod, which responded with a soft rattle. After a few seconds, the cover silently rose, revealing Ava inside. Upon closer inspection, Lina realized that although the pod seemed empty, it was filled with a transparent solid, resembling a huge piece of amber that encapsulated Ava. As the lid opened, a fragrant, sweet scent wafted out of the pod, and a large amount of white mist began to rise from the surface of the amber, obscuring the surrounding area and reducing the size of the amber rapidly. In less than a minute, the once human-sized piece of transparent solid vanished completely as though it never existed.

When the amber dispersed, Ava’s body was finally exposed to the air. Lina, who had remained curious throughout, finally took the opportunity to lean down and lift Ava’s petite body from the pod. Ava, who appeared no older than twelve, was as pretty and delicate as Sigein, and also had long, golden hair. However, Ava’s consciousness was still inside the machine, so her body lay limp in Lina’s arms, akin to someone deep in sleep. Her three eyes were gently closed, her breaths steady and soft. Lina squeezed Ava’s rosy white cheeks with one hand while supporting Ava with the other, incapable of resisting the soft sensation.

"Silly Lina, do your job quickly." By now, Vivian had brought out a replacement robe. She tugged on Lina’s long, silver hair, earning herself a glare from Lina. She then gave Lina the robe and said, "The poor girl’s consciousness is still watching on the side, and you’re bullying her. Hurry up and help her change before Pannis comes back and starts drooling. Haha."

When Pannis came back looking very wronged, following behind Catherine, Ava’s petite, but shapely, body was already concealed by the robe. His condemning gaze was met with a proud huff from Lina.

"Are we good to go?" Standing at the center of the translucent enclosure, Catherine looked around to make sure nothing was overlooked. Then she turned to Ava, who was sitting on Pannis’s shoulder, and asked, "So, what now? Also, when we teleport out of here, where will we end up? It’ll be too much trouble if we reappear exactly where we were."

"Please confirm teleportation destination." The backup Cyrie, who was currently managing the research center in Ava’s stead, spoke up immediately after Catherine finished speaking, "If no destination is identified, the spatial coordinates upon the user’s entry will be chosen as the teleportation location."

With the backup Cyrie’s prompt, a map was projected before the group. The map was large, its displayed area extensive, covering the entire Felryas Mountain and its surroundings within a fifty-kilometer radius. Pannis looked at the map, touched a virtual point on it, and immediately, the rest of the map vanished, leaving only the point his finger was on, which then quickly enlarged to fill the entire projection area. Pannis thought for a bit and tapped it again, repeating the process. His chosen location was very precise; the Earth’s Scar, which they had sped down, was visible, though it appeared only as thick as a pinky finger.

Seeing Pannis’s operation, Catherine understood how to use the map. She chose a different point on the map, causing the selected region to enlarge, allowing her a clear view of the environment around Earth’s Scar. However, Catherine frowned and commented, "What’s going on? This isn’t what it looked like when we came last time, right? I’m sure the terrain didn’t look like this."

"They probably haven’t updated the map in over ten thousand years." Pannis shrugged. "Some changes are to be expected. By the way, Cyrie, why can’t I teleport to the underground sector, only get an top view of the surface?"

"The underground sector is overly dangerous. Users should provide proof of equivalent combat power in order to access it," the backup Cyrie replied, "Do you wish to switch view to the underground sector?"

"No switch, I was just curious." Pannis quickly shook his head. While the experience inside Earth’s Scar was a novel one, the process itself wasn’t exactly pleasant. Nobody wanted to go through it again now that they were preparing to return home: "If my memory serves me right, we camped around here for the last time. Ike should be waiting for us here, so we better be prepared."

"Are you talking about Ava?" Catherine blinked in surprise, getting the implication in Pannis’s words. She nodded and said, "Indeed, we should prepare in advance. Ava, what are your plans after we leave?"

"I want to be with you guys." Ava’s voice was still so calm, void of any fluctuations as she said, "Your life is interesting and warm. I want to try such a life, of course, if you accept me."

"Are you sure?" asked Catherine. "Our lives are extremely dangerous and will only get more so."

"My true self is a copy of Sigein, the third most powerful of the Triclops. Since birth, I’ve had a lot of strength. If put in terms of your ranks, I should be of the Legendary Rank just like you, so danger is not a problem for me." Ava calmly answered, "I believe I can take care of myself in battles. Although I’ve never experienced any, I’ve memorized all the battles in goblin history that are recorded in graphic format from the database."

"Then there’s another question," asked Catherine. "How do you plan to explain the third eye on your forehead? The Deities are just too rare. No, I should say that there has hardly ever been a normal deity appearing in the Fourth Epoch. As soon as you show up in the human world, your Third Eye will cause a worldwide sensation and could likely cause you great trouble. If you’re not interested in being the focus of attention, I suggest you find a way to keep it hidden, such as moving around outside in a puppet body, pretending to be controlled by Freya or something."

Neither Freya nor Vivian disagreed with Catherine’s view. Even though Ava’s regular appearance as a deity would give the two female scholars unprecedented fame, this would only be possible by sacrificing Ava’s own wishes. Not only would Catherine find it hard to agree, but the scholars themselves would also struggle to convince their own hearts.

"Thank you, but the Triclops can actually close their eyes." Ava explained, "If needed, I can close my Third Eye separately. Oh, by closing the eyes here, I don’t mean it in the way you understand it, but completely closed. It’s hardly noticeable from the outside, apart from not being able to use Light Techniques that rely on the Third Eye, there wouldn’t be any other effects. When I need to use Light Techniques, all I have to do is open my eyes."

"That easy?" Catherine muttered in surprise, "In that case, you can live and adventure with us. But there’s a condition, after joining the adventure team. If there’s a disagreement during an adventure..."

"Obey orders first." Ava volunteered, "Even though the goblins don’t have something like an adventure team, for any dangerous activity, they have to strictly follow the leader’s orders. I’m aware of this common sense."

"Then there’s no problem." Catherine nodded, "Let’s discuss what we do about Ike. We can’t explain to him why after coming out of the Earth’s Scar, we inexplicably brought back a stranger. This would easily raise some assumptions."

"This is easy to solve," said Pannis, "We choose to teleport to a slightly distant place, then you guys go back to Grand Highland City or directly go home by yourselves, and I’ll go meet Ike. This way, he won’t know about us bringing Ava back."

"You’re not coming with us?" Catherine looked at Pannis for a moment and then nodded, "I get it. You’re going to help at the Winged People Mountain Range, right?"

"Yes, I want to go take a look," said Pannis, "Not that they necessarily need my help, but I should at least make an effort."

"What if we also go?" Catherine asked, "We might be able to help."

"There’s already enough regular fighting power there," Pannis shook his head, "The more demigods, the better, so there’s no need for you guys to go. It might not necessarily help if you go, better take Ava home first. Who knows, I might reach there earlier than you guys. Hehe, I do have a means of transportation."

"Alright." Catherine’s decision was firm and came without a fuss, "Take care of yourself, and don’t always be risking your life saying that you won’t die. Although you may not actually die, the feeling of a near-death experience probably isn’t that comfortable either."

"Don’t worry, I won’t... alright, alright, I’ll be careful." (To be continued. If you like this story, please vote for recommendations and monthly tickets on qidian.com. Your support is my greatest motivation. Mobile users should read at m.qidian.com).
