Chapter 513 - 394 Shi Yong’s Crisis
Chapter 513: Chapter 394 Shi Yong’s Crisis
How exactly the Dimension Rift had appeared and what it was made of was still beyond Zhang Xiaoman’s knowledge.
But it was clear to him that such a phenomenon couldn’t simply be eradicated with bombs or the like.
This wasn’t a matter of quantity or scale; the two were fundamentally on different levels and could not influence each other at all.
Zhang Xiaoman silently noted everything about Sheep Village; since the Dimension Rift was there, he could no longer just ignore it.
If it weren’t destroyed in time, it could lead to severe consequences.
If such rifts were allowed to expand, humanity might not even make it to the Great Fusion before meeting its end.
Originally, Zhang Xiaoman had planned to keep an eye on the information from America as well.
However, the appearance of this rift in Qionghua City temporarily took all other thoughts out of his mind.
He had only briefly reviewed it, and as for going there, he would have to wait until the situation in Qionghua City was resolved.
According to the information, in a wildlife park in the suburbs of New York City, there had been multiple incidents of monsters attacking tourists and staff.
The area had now been completely sealed off and was officially under military control.
However, due to environmental factors, they hadn’t been able to investigate where exactly these monsters had come from and could only make some guesses based on the traces at the scene.
The whole situation was still at a very confusing stage, but once things at Sheep Village were handled, he might consider going there to assess the situation.
Additionally, in the intelligence gathered by Star Order, there was information on various other matters which caught Zhang Xiaoman’s interest.
"This is... the Canglan Team, I can’t believe they’ve already been targeted..."
In front of him was a report about a recent hacker attack on major websites, a mess created by a few members of the Canglan Expedition Team.
The intelligence revealed that someone was actively pursuing them, apparently experts in this field that included the top two master hackers from the hacker leaderboards.
This situation had arisen because Shi Yong had been too reckless.
After his last feat, he had erased records and lived under a pseudonym, almost clear of any more issues.
But the kid got a little carried away.
After receiving a task from Zhang Xiaoman, in an effort to achieve the results quickly, he had become interested in America.
He hacked into their intelligence system, intending to obtain some information about the Alien Species.
But this move turned tragic for him.
The ones who had been searching for him all along suddenly had a target, and they immediately swarmed him.
Together with their supercomputers’ powerful processing abilities, they quickly caught him and he couldn’t escape.
...
Meanwhile, in an office building in Sanjiao Mei City, Shi Yong was sweating profusely as he stared at the computer screen.
The screen was scrolling with densely packed coding symbols.
If a regular person were to look at it, let alone understand the meaning, they might feel overwhelmed just at the sight of such an intense cluster of symbols.
Behind him, several companions were also looking on with tense expressions.
Shi Yong’s face was anxious as his hands trembled wildly over the keyboard, creating a blur of afterimages.
Behind him, none of the companions dared to disturb him at this moment.
Although no one understood his operations, they could still tell from his reactions that the situation had probably become very serious.
"We just got the intelligence from Brother Yong, right? Since we achieved something, why are we still there clashing with them? Can’t we just pull the plug on the internet? I don’t believe they can still find us here without the internet," one of the alarm clocks quietly asked a companion, a question he had been holding in for a long time.
Zhou Yu, standing nearby, quickly turned his head to look at him, then turned back, eyes fixed on the computer screen, and said,
"That won’t work. If it were as you say, simply turning off the power would solve everything, then what’s the need for all those jump points?"
"The situation now is not that Brother Yong wants to tangle with them, but that he must erase all his traces before he can pull out. If he just walked away without dealing with anything, it’d be like burying our heads in the sand, and who knows, someone might come knocking tomorrow."
The others also listened intently to their conversation, as Zhou Yu was considered the second most computer-savvy person in the team, after Shi Yong.
However, his understanding was only due to interest and was far from reaching the other’s level.
Shi Yong’s expression grew even more troubled as he looked at the information on the computer screen and muttered,
"That familiar tactic... It’s those two guys again! Damn, I’ve really stirred up a hornet’s nest this time!"
As he spoke, he quickly turned his head to look at the people behind him and said,
"Brothers, don’t just stand there, help me refresh the jump points. I’ve sent a foolproof package to your computers. Just keep clicking the mouse like last time."
No sooner had he finished speaking than the screens on several nearby computers suddenly went black, and then a software with a monkey’s face popped up.
"Just click on that monkey’s face, everyone, hurry up!"
Hearing this, everyone scattered and expertly headed to their computer desks, beginning to frantically click on the monkey’s bitter face, apparently not their first time doing so.
For a while, no one spoke again inside the room; only the ongoing clicks of the mouse could be heard.
Time passed by the minute, and even though their companions had joined to help with the task, the effect they could have was actually minimal, just saving Shi Yong some minor operational tasks.
Shi Yong felt that this time he had really gone too far.
Unexpectedly, just infiltrating an intelligence agency known as the Hurricane Bureau had provoked such a strong backlash.
Not only were supercomputers being used to corner him, but those two old adversaries he hadn’t seen in ages had also emerged, launching a fierce offensive against him.
"What on earth is this Hurricane Bureau? How could it possibly have such comprehensive protection? Damn! Two more supercomputers have joined in! Where did I hack into!?"
At this moment, Shi Yong instantly felt an immense increase in pressure, cold sweat drenching his forehead, his fingers starting to tremble, and he mistyped several codes in succession.
This was the first time he felt danger so close to him.
The jump points he had set up were being found one after another.
It felt as if in the next second, his computer would be breached by these people, and everything in reality would be exposed to their eyes.
