Chapter 469: Chapter 350: Terrifying Graffiti

In the quiet room, Beelu felt a chill rise up and couldn’t help shivering; he was quite frightened by the story he had just told.

But it wasn’t his fault, after all, as a resident of the building, he was somewhat involved and it was understandable that he felt fearful after such an encounter.

Beelu had a somewhat comical face and naturally spoke and acted in a way that was inherently amusing.

But because of this, even when he was serious about something, people would often think he was joking.

Aaron was feeling this right now.

Having known his friend since childhood, Aaron couldn’t help but ask a few more questions about the details to ensure the truth of what had been said, wanting to confirm the whole story.

"Aaron, you know me, even though I appear to joke around all day, I never lie. Everyone in the apartment knows the rumors, and although I didn’t believe them before, that greenish thing really did appear just now. So I think those rumors about the graffiti corridor and the basement might be true too!"

Meanwhile, Zhang Xiaoman, upon hearing this statement, also nodded silently.

Indeed, as Beelu said, some of the characteristics of the Wandering Spirits matched up, similar to what he had seen himself.

Last time at Lin Sisi’s house, when the Wandering Spirit entered the painting, all the characters in it turned around, facing the viewer instead of showing their backs.

He didn’t know if the spirit had changed the painting itself or if it was just a mere illusion; he needed further contact to be sure.

Just then, several gunshots suddenly sounded outside the door, first sporadically and then increasing in frequency, accompanied by a few panic-stricken screams.

"Gunshots? What’s happening?" Aaron listened carefully and then said, "It sounds like it’s coming from downstairs, should we go check it out?"

At that moment, Beelu suddenly clapped his hands and exclaimed:

"The police! The police! I just called them! They must have encountered those damn ghosts on the first floor! I knew it! I knew it! That place is definitely not normal!"

Zhang Xiaoman didn’t bother to correct the difference between Ghost and Wandering Spirit, and walked directly out the door, feeling it necessary to check out the situation in the sub-basement himself.

Behind him, Aaron followed without hesitation, and Beelu hesitated for a while before finally gritting his teeth and following them.

At that moment, in the corridor on the first floor, two policemen were looking at the walls beside them with a look of horror.

The graffiti, drawn by someone unknown, now had pairs of eyes that seemed to watch them, turning ordinary depictions of people and animals into living beings, their gazes following the officers’ movements.

Even just before, the two had seen a greenish orb float out from them, swiftly crossing the corridor and disappearing into another wall.

"Damn it, what the hell are these things! Dani, did you hit it?"

One of the Caucasian policemen asked while retreating back.

"Shit! I couldn’t see clearly! It just zoomed past! Vettel! That kid who called wasn’t high, there really are ghosts here!"

The other African American policeman exclaimed.

These two were policemen from the New York City Hatbrim District Police Station, and they had just been dispatched to deal with a case in this somewhat old neighborhood.

According to the call, a young man had encountered a ghost in his apartment and was now running for his life, asking for their help.

Ghosts? Running for his life?

The two shared a knowing smile, it seemed that their quota for arresting drug-using youths this year was within reach.

However, after they arrived here, they discovered that the situation was somewhat different from what they had imagined.

The graffiti that was common in the old alleys around them now seemed as if they had come to life, all staring intently at them, their faces twisted and bizarre.

At first, the two thought they were seeing things, but as the movements of the graffiti became more pronounced and their features more ferocious, they finally realized in horror that it was all real!

Even though they didn’t believe in these eerie tales, the sight forced them to accept the reality.

"Bang!"

Another gunshot rang out as the African American police officer Dani pulled the trigger again.

This time, both he and his companion clearly saw a green spherical creepy figure emerge from one wall and quickly enter a cat graffiti on another wall.

However, the bullet did not affect the green figure when it hit, but passed straight through, striking the ceiling not far away and kicking up a few strands of dust.

At that moment, the cat in the mural seemed to blink its eyes and gave the two a mocking smile.

"Fuck! They’re Ghosts! Ghosts! Bullets can’t hit them! Damn it! Let’s get out of here!"

Dani shouted.

Vettel pressed the button on the communicator, sending out a support request to the police station.

The cat on the wall had now opened its mouth, revealing rows of sharp teeth that no feline should possess.

It was strange, though, that while the graffiti’s eyes moved and the expressions changed, the range of their bodily movements wasn’t very large.

Although the two police officers were scared half to death, they didn’t actually suffer any injuries.

"Watch out!"

Vettel had just put down the communicator when he turned and saw a terrifying scene.

Behind Dani’s head, the graffiti of a little boy wearing a baseball cap was now extending a claw with sharp nails, stealthily reaching towards him.

Startled by his partner’s shout, Dani quickly turned around and saw the stealthily extended claw, screaming in shock as he staggered several steps back until he hit the wall and finally stopped.

However, his retreat brought him closer to the previously still cat.

The cat then slowly extended its paw and, drawing close to Dani, suddenly swiped at him, leaving several scratch marks on his leg.

"Ah!!!"

Dani screamed in agony, more from fright than from the pain.

Seeing this unfold, Vettel frantically pulled the trigger, and the bullets passed through the extended paw of the cat, hitting the wall and leaving small holes.

"Don’t get close to them!"

He shouted, then hurriedly pulled Dani into the middle of the corridor.
