Chapter 466: Chapter 347: The Sudden Shift in the Demon Hunting Career

The Dawn swiftly arrived over Morganstoman Town, descending into Bena’s backyard.

In such small towns, even though the population isn’t large and the facilities aren’t too perfect, there is one advantage—the residential environment is spacious.

Almost every household has an especially generous yard, more than ample for a temporary parking spot for the Dawn.

To the two newcomers, the anti-gravity car was naturally a source of boundless amazement at first glance.

Compared to the mysterious and extraordinary means Zhang Xiaoman had previously displayed, this sudden shift to high-tech black magic caught them somewhat off-guard.

It was only by then that Aaron’s thinking, which had always been akin to that of a "Demon Hunter," finally broke free, and he gained a new understanding of the organization.

Zhang Xiaoman didn’t bother to explain further; such matters no longer required his personal clarification, as others would naturally explain what the Star Alliance is to them.

At this moment, the door leading from the house to the backyard opened, and Bena was the last to walk out.

She had just finished tidying up the house one more time, shutting off the appliances, covering the blankets, and putting everything that needed to be packed away in order, before setting foot on the Dawn and officially beginning her new journey in life.

"This, this symbol... It’s the mark of our organization! It’s from that mysterious organization that took down so many websites last time!"

Aaron pointed to a symbol embossed on the interior wall of the car and said.

They were currently inside the Dawn, having activated the anti-gravity car’s stealth mode, floating high in the sky.

They did not immediately head for Rebirth Island but drove to New York City first, because Zhang Xiaoman wanted to check Aaron’s former apartment to see if there were any Star Alliance Marker-like benefits.

"Regarding the last incident, it was somewhat of an accident, the doing of some peripheral members who hadn’t officially joined the organization. They went too far, and ended up causing some trouble for everyone."

Zhang Xiaoman, holding a cup of tea by the side of the car, watched the scenery projected through the holographic mimicry, his tone carrying a mix of amusement, mild reproof, and the helplessness of an elder towards mischievous youngsters.

On hearing his words, Aaron couldn’t help but widen his eyes in astonishment.

Having learned some basic computer knowledge in his early years, he regarded anyone capable of such feats as undoubtedly being among the world’s top-level experts.

Yet within this mysterious entity known as the Star Alliance, such individuals were only peripheral members not yet formally inducted.

Instantly, his imagination about the organization soared even higher, far surpassing his initial estimations.

"Hehe, you guys are lucky. By the Star Lord’s special permission, you’ve got this opportunity. Compared to those fellows, you’re much luckier—they’d need to go through a series of even more stringent trials to join the Star Alliance."

Lord Bear approached them now, laughing as he spoke.

His words made both Aaron and Bena sneak another glance at Zhang Xiaoman, their hearts filled with gratitude while cherishing the opportunity they had been given even more.

When tests were mentioned, Aaron couldn’t contain his curiosity any longer and asked,

"Lord Taotie, may I ask what kind of trials we’ll have to face? Does it mean that once we pass, we can become Trackers like you?"

His question was exactly what Bena also wanted to know, and she perked up her ears on the side, waiting for the reply.

Lord Bear shook his head with a smile, saying,

"Passing the trials is just the first step, allowing you to formally join the Star Alliance. As for becoming an Awakener in the Three Great Sanctuaries, it’s not so easy."

At these words, both of them felt a touch of disappointment.

However, they quickly adjusted their mood, knowing that just getting a chance to join the Star Alliance was extremely rare.

They believed that with their own effort, they could eventually join those Three Great Sanctuaries and become Transcendents.

As for what the Three Great Sanctuaries were, although Aaron expressed his doubts, Lord Bear glanced at the time, and then shook his head before saying,

"We’ll discuss the specifics when we get to Rebirth Island. For now, we’re about to arrive in New York City. Let’s take care of the matters at hand first."

"Huh? Arrived? What’s arrived?"

Aaron and Bena at first didn’t quite catch on, but when they saw the bustling and beautiful metropolis below through the holographic projection interface, they realized what was happening.

"We’ve, we’ve arrived in New York City...?"

Aaron still seemed scarcely able to believe it, that in the time they had spent talking, they had traveled from the southwestern part of America in Texas to Button State on the east coast.

Keep in mind, that’s over 2500 kilometers, and in just under ten minutes, they had already arrived at their destination?

There was an unmistakable feeling of moving through space!

Aaron, who had always prided himself as a Demon Hunter, never imagined that in less than two hours of contact with the two mysterious Transcendents, his world view had begun to be thoroughly transformed.

It felt like suddenly shifting from an epic fantasy movie full of dazzling magic to a scene in a science fiction film, the strong sense of incongruity left him somewhat stunned.

Bena, on the other hand, was doing much better. After all, these were her first encounters with such things, and without so many preconceived notions, she found it easier to accept.

"We, we’ve really arrived in New York City..."

Aaron leaned his whole body against the wall of the car, looking down at the thriving and beautiful metropolis below, and finally came to terms with the reality.

There was no helping it, as the facts were right before his eyes— he could even see some familiar buildings and streets below.

While New York City is not the capital of America, its level of economic development is second to none in the country.

At the same time, it’s the most disaster-prone city in both movies and novels.

Whether it’s alien invasions or local mutated creatures causing chaos, this city is almost always the first to be hit, and countless Super Heroes vie for the spotlight here, causing many locals to inexplicably develop a secondary-school-hero complex.

Now, Zhang Xiaoman had set the destination to Aaron’s former apartment, and in no time, they reached the airspace above that building.
