World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 458 - 339: Face the Fear

Chapter 458: Chapter 339: Face the Fear

A desolate night, chaotic streets.

What should have been a bustling town square was now a scene of desolation.

The townspeople had already fled in all directions a while ago, leaving only a few youths dressed in colorful outfits standing at a nearby corner, looking on.

These were students from the town’s only school, known for their boldness and love of adventure. After initial panic upon witnessing the terrifying monsters, they had all run back to the scene.

They thought that these monsters didn’t seem all that scary.

While their appearances were frightening, their slim figures and slow movements didn’t seem to pose a threat, which gave them the courage to return.

However, now that they saw one of the monsters suddenly speed up and bite off Officer Parker’s leg after being attacked, they were all startled, and two of them turned and ran away immediately.

The remaining three were now trembling, not because they didn’t want to run, but because they were too drained to do so.

The once self-proclaimed courageous youths never imagined that they would one day be like the extras in horror movies, unable to even flee in the face of monsters.

A chill wind blew through, bringing with it a trace of cold.

In the town square, only a few people remained, and the loudspeaker used during the celebration night was still switching songs on its own.

But even though the rhythm was lively, none of the people had any mood to listen.

"Roar! Roar! Roar!"

The rampaging flowerpot monster continued to howl madly, and the police officers now looked at it with even more fear in their eyes.

"Damn it! What on earth is this thing! How can it have such strong biting power!"

The black police officer had an exaggerated expression on his face, his eyes widening, while he also supported the unconscious Parker as they retreated.

The strength of such monsters had completely exceeded their expectations.

Initially, even though the opponent had a mouth full of teeth and a terrifying appearance, their movements seemed slow, so everyone maintained composure during the retreat.

But now, when that Ete fully demonstrated its incredible destructive power, they were no longer able to remain calm.

Not to mention its terrifying speed and the biting force that could snap a person’s leg bone, these were enough to strike terror into their hearts.

In the eyes of the people, this type of small Ete was no longer like a small dog that could be kicked away easily.

It had transformed into a terrifying beast, even more deadly than it had seemed before.

"Quickly, let’s go! They’re coming over!"

The young police officer who had spoken earlier shouted.

Seeing the monster charging towards them again, he didn’t have time to think and instinctively pulled out a baton from his waist, then swung it at the monster.

"Roar!"

The monster’s attack came in an instant but was blocked by his baton; however, the stick was yanked from his grip in the tussle, and the monster "crunched" it in half with a bite.

"Fuck!"

Seeing this, the others couldn’t help but exclaim, hastening their retreat.

After the rampaging Xiao Hua crunched the baton a couple of times and swallowed it, it accelerated again, instantly charging towards the group of police officers.

Facing the ferocious onslaught of the monster, four or five adults found themselves utterly helpless; a sense of despair and powerlessness surged in their hearts.

Without weapons, how were they supposed to face such a monster?

Despite its small size, its terrifyingly large mouth was ruthlessly efficient when it bit into people.

Hadn’t they seen it bite through a baton as if it were nothing? None of them wanted to end up like Old Parker.

However, just as they were panicking and at a loss, a sudden whooshing sound of something cutting through the air came from behind them.

Before they could even react, they saw a long spear, glinting with silver light, flash past them and violently skewer the monster to the ground.

"Roar roar roar!"

The monster might not have been big, but the sound it made was rough and harsh.

But at this point, with its body impaled by the long spear, it had clearly sustained fatal injuries; its agonized screams couldn’t linger for long and soon silenced.

Only then did everyone come back to their senses, shifting their gaze from the monster’s body to the direction from which the long spear had come.

They saw a man in a black trench coat, with a hood over his head, striding towards them.

Although most of his face was obscured by the brim of his hood, they could still see the twin silver-white glows emitting from his eyes.

"What... what’s going on here?"

The police officers were extremely bewildered, having previously considered countless possibilities, even including the chance that they wouldn’t escape and would be overwhelmed by the monster.

But what they hadn’t imagined was that their savior would turn out to be a person, and one who appeared to be an extraordinary individual at that...

Lord Bear, moving with Swift strides, covered a distance of several dozen meters in a few breaths, arriving close to the group.

He pulled the Mystical Crystal Long Spear out of the monster’s corpse and his gaze swiftly swept over the scene to determine the best combat strategy.

In his Spirit Detection Technique sense, there were fifteen figures ahead, small and large. Besides the five making their way toward him, there were ten more monsters maintaining a concealed Status, not yet revealed.

However, with his arrival, the situation seemed to change; those Etes that had been hiding started to stir.

"Sir, who are you? Are you here to help us?"

The female officer stuttered as she asked.

Seeing the glow in the stranger’s eyes and the Thunderbolt-like method with which he had appeared, she knew he was no ordinary man.

Perhaps the scenes from the movies were real, and this man might actually be a Super Hero.

At this moment, her mind raced with thoughts, and not just hers—her colleagues were also filled with curiosity, and for a brief moment, they seemed to have forgotten about the monsters.

"Leave this place, it’s dangerous..."

Lord Bear said, deliberately lowering his voice. He glanced at the unconscious Old Parker and continued,

"Save him first, don’t waste time."

The police officers snapped back to reality, thanking him repeatedly before quickly helping their unconscious colleague away.

However, not all of them left; the female officer volunteered to stay behind, wanting to help and fight together.
