Chapter 441: Chapter 322: Encounter Attack (Two in One)_2
Suddenly, a strong sense of mission surged in his heart, just like in the movies; Deisen was about to transform into the male protagonist, delivering powerful weapons to the front line, where his comrades would use them to annihilate the formidable Alien forces.
However, such thoughts did not last long. He had not even reached his destination when he encountered a disaster along the way.
Deisen’s helicopter was flying at a low altitude when suddenly all the instruments went haywire, and the engine stopped running. Unprepared, he and his teammates, along with the helicopter, plummeted to the ground.
Fortunately, the trees here were tall and dense, and since the helicopter wasn’t flying high, although they experienced a severe air crash, they didn’t perish. Including himself, a total of five members survived.
This wasn’t just the case for them; two other helicopters were also part of the operation. However, their luck didn’t seem as good as Deisen and his team; they all crashed directly and exploded on impact.
They were trapped in the trees, and because of his position, Deisen was unable to free himself initially. The other members of his team, aided by the light from the exploding helicopters, unbuckled their safety belts and climbed down the big tree.
Later, when Deisen finally freed himself and was preparing to descend and regroup with his teammates, he suddenly heard a strange cry in his ears, which seemed to emanate from the forest...
"What’s going on!?"
When Deisen heard this sound, his heart involuntarily trembled because he heard it clearly. The sound seemed like it came from a beast’s mouth. Moreover, judging by the depth of the voice, the beast was not small and there was more than one.
"That’s not right; according to the intelligence we received, isn’t this island recently ascended from the seabed? How could there be large beasts here?"
Deisen thought he might have heard it wrong, because in such a place, if plants could bypass the long evolutionary and growth process and suddenly escalate to the current state, it might be explained away with magnetic fields, geology, or other factors.
However, compared to plants, genetically more complex animals suddenly appearing, even evolving to the scale of herds, was somewhat unimaginable.
The feelings of surprise and bewilderment appeared in his mind only momentarily as Deisen was immediately startled by what he saw.
From the depths of the forest, several black-shelled monsters suddenly charged out. These monsters were massive, with ferocious appearances, moved swiftly, and were immensely strong.
When Deisen first saw them, he even thought he had entered a science fiction film because such creatures definitely could not exist on Water Blue Star!
There was no chance to shout a warning; the monsters had already leaped from the dark. During their sprint, one could almost hear the wind roaring, and in almost an instant, they had pounced on and brought down his four teammates.
Screams and sporadic gunshots rang out, and soon after, everything went silent. Deisen watched the entire process in horror, his face turning ashen.
"Monsters! These are monsters! These are the Aliens invading our planet! I get it now! That barrier behind, that must be the lair of the Aliens! Those things that have recently appeared in the world, they must have escaped from there!"
Deisen was screaming in his mind, but his lips dared not make a sound.
At this moment, he felt as though he had seen the truth.
In recent days, he had heard various tales about monsters from friends and superiors, and although he knew that such a terrifying group had suddenly appeared in the world, even watched a somewhat unclear video through military organizations, seeing them with his own eyes like today was nevertheless a first.
Deisen realized that today, he had finally encountered them, and they were definitely not merely "animals that underwent sudden mutation evolution due to geological problems", but a group of Aliens wanting to invade this world!
However, if there were members of the Star Alliance here, they would certainly recognize that the creatures that had attacked Deisen’s team were the Desert Worms they had previously encountered on Congo!
Of course, to some extent, what Deisen said was not wrong, these Alien Monsters indeed were "wanting to invade this world."
"Whoosh whoosh~"
The flames burned in the pitch-black night, and a breeze passed, producing a series of whooshing sounds.
At this moment, Deisen was sitting in the tree, not daring to make any movement.
Because he could feel that those creatures hadn’t left; they seemed to be still hiding in the dark behind the light, just watching him, ready to rush up and tear him apart the moment he climbed down.
At that moment, a rustling of footsteps gradually arose from the forest. Deisen immediately pricked up his ears, turned his head, and stared intently in the direction of the sound, feeling extremely nervous.
"Commander, look ahead! It’s a Black Hawk helicopter! It’s our people!"
In the woods, a human voice rang out, followed by the successive appearance of about twenty figures below Deisen.
Because a helicopter had crashed here, several large trees were downed, creating a fairly large clearing.
"Damn it! I knew it! They were hit too!"
Upon seeing the scene before him, John couldn’t help but curse softly. He had vaguely guessed the current situation when he heard earlier that there was light up ahead.
He knew that the base had sent reinforcements, and according to the original plan, they were supposed to arrive by evening. The delay without any sight of them definitely meant something had happened.
Tom touched a nearby large tree and, noticing some substance sticking to his hand, said:
"It’s strange; these trees seem not to fear fire. This substance on their surface seems to isolate the flame."
The others also began to search the site separately, hoping to find any survivors they could rescue.
"There are bloodstains on the ground, but no bodies found. Could they have left?"
Kando reported the situation to John.
John frowned and said, "No, looking at these marks on the ground, it seems something else happened here. It doesn’t look like just a crash..."
"Commander, perhaps you should come here and see this!"
Suddenly, someone spoke up from the side.
John walked over and, at the spot indicated by the person, discovered several horrifying traces.
"These are... claw marks...?"
John was slightly startled, then his expression changed.
"Be careful around! They’re still here!"
A loud roar suddenly sounded overhead—it was Deisen. Having confirmed the identities of the people below, he quickly shouted a warning.
Everyone looked up to see someone sitting there.
But, before they could feel surprised, a series of fierce growls rang out. Several huge figures leaped out of the darkness, instantly pouncing on the outermost team members.
"Ah!"
Screams echoed, followed by a series of gunshots.
As warriors specially trained, although caught off guard by the Desert Worms at that moment, the remaining team quickly reacted and immediately pulled the triggers on their weapons at these monsters.
"Dada dada dada..."
The sound of the R479 automatic rifle broke the silence of the night, and combined with the burning helicopter wreckage around them, filled the air with a steely scent.
