World-saving Plan: The Only Savior -
Chapter 355 - 239: Pig Teammate
Chapter 355: Chapter 239: Pig Teammate
The staff brought over two huge boards, each as big as an entire classroom blackboard; these would be the canvases used for painting later.
The guests went over the game rules again, this time in more detail.
Zhang Xiaoman also received many magnetic stones, which would serve as tools to guide his teammates in their painting.
A group of people quickly divided into teams; there were four groups per team, each consisting of one male and one female, taking turns to paint for ten minutes at a time, for a total of forty minutes to complete the entire painting.
Everyone got busy at once, and for some reason, as if by prior agreement, boys directed while girls painted in every group.
Watching this scene unfold somewhat oddly, Zhang Xiaoman thought to himself that the other side was practically giving them a free pass. He felt that he might not even need to help, as Lin Sisi alone could easily trounce them all.
As expected, things went just as he had anticipated, with both sides springing into action as soon as the show’s staff gave the signal to start.
Red Team sent Sun Ge and Liu Lili first, and this handsome guy and pretty girl pairing obviously won the support of many in the audience; fans seemed quite happy to see them together, cheering them on throughout.
Blue Team, on the other hand, fielded Hu the King and a girl named Li Mengqi.
The veteran actor Hu the King, with his towering popularity, needed no introduction; a tall and handsome middle-aged man with a distinguished appearance, even Zhang Xiaoman had seen many of his films.
Li Mengqi, who debuted in a girl group from the new generation, likewise had a legion of male fans, and compared to Liu Lili, she added a dose of youthfulness and playfulness to the mix.
On one side you had the handsome guy and pretty girl pairing, and on the other, the contrast between a cute girl and a mature man; both teams had star-studded appeal, and the atmosphere on the set was heated from the start.
However, when it comes to painting, good looks don’t necessarily help.
For those unacquainted with painting, the brush in their hand is like an untamable beast; what they envision in their minds is totally different from what they produce on the canvas.
This is challenging enough with regular painting, let alone blind painting.
"To the left, to the left! Ah, too far, go back a bit, yes, right there, draw a small tree!"
From behind, Sun Ge was directing Liu Lili as she painted. Although she had managed to find where to start, the thing she drew after was so bizarre that it was impossible to recognize as a tree.
Next to them, Hu the King was also using verbal cues to guide Li Mengqi in her painting.
However, like the Red Team, the results were just as indiscernible, seeming even more abstract than abstract art.
Although the paintings produced by both sets of guests were in total disarray, the effect the show’s producers were after was achieved, as evidenced by the unending laughter from the audience since the start.
It didn’t matter what the paintings looked like; no one expected them to be good. The important thing was for the show to be entertaining enough to boost ratings; that was the key.
Soon enough, the first group’s time was up, and it was time to switch to the second group.
The second pair to go up did things a little differently; the males first used the magnetic stones to mark the spots on the blackboard their teammates had already painted.
In this way, when it was the females’ turn to paint, they could easily find the necessary spots without wasting too much time searching, as the filming time for the show was limited.
The contest continued amidst energetic buzz and laughter, enriched by the banter and chit-chat from a few guests on stage, which had the audience watching with great enjoyment.
As each female guest took her turn to paint, the two giant canvases in front began to look increasingly abstract, turning into an indistinguishable mess by the end.
The theme this time was landscape, and both teams had free rein to interpret it, but judging by the current state, it was unlikely that anyone could recognize what it was supposed to be.
Time flew by and half an hour had passed; it was finally the turn of the last group. The male and female duo from the Red Team sprang into action.
The male positioned the magnetic stones, while the female took this time to carefully memorize the placements on the board to help her paint better later.
"Brother Man, it’s all up to you guys now. Whether Blue Team can get the final clue depends on you and sister-in-law. Go for it!"
Chu Liang came over and handed a bunch of magnetic stones to Zhang Xiaoman.
Upon hearing her "title" from Chu Liang, Lin Sisi’s cheek immediately flushed red.
Seeing her reaction, Zhang Xiaoman naturally wasn’t going to say something like, "You’ve got it wrong, we’re just friends."
Though he’d been single all his life, his social intelligence was still on point.
Taking the magnets from Chu Liang, Zhang Xiaoman walked up to the board. Seeing the chaotic jumble before him, he now felt a little anxious.
While Lin Sisi was indeed an amazing artist, that was hardly enough to compensate for a team with zero foundation; under these conditions, he feared even she couldn’t salvage their team.
With a somewhat helpless shake of his head, Zhang Xiaoman prepared to place the magnetic stone markers. It didn’t matter whether they won; as long as she had fun, that was all that mattered.
Just as he was about to place the stone, an idea occurred to him. Hesitant only for a moment, he put down the magnet and instead opted for a different marking method.
Because of Lin Sisi’s visual impairment, she had no idea what had been painted on the board; even if he marked it with magnets, it wouldn’t help.
Zhang Xiaoman decided to use another method, one that only an Awakener could sense.
He moved to one end of the board and then walked towards the other side, thinking.
During this, his hand lightly brushed over the areas previously painted by the others, leaving behind a trail of faint Dark Energy essence.
What Zhang Xiaoman was doing was using Dark Energy to trace outlines, marking the places he had touched.
He trusted that Lin Sisi, with her sharp sense of inspiration, would easily detect the traces he had left.
His actions naturally drew the attention of others, who were initially unsure of what he was doing.
Only after Zhang Xiaoman returned to the front did everyone realize that he hadn’t placed a single magnetic stone!
