Weiss unbuckled his seatbelt, grabbed his weapon, opened the car door, and walked out. The others, seeing this, followed suit and got out of the vehicle.

"Oh! Shit! What is this! My Cassandra, are you alright?"

Weiss looked at the front of his beloved car where it had been hit and was inspectively checking for any dents with a heartbroken expression.

Lord Bear stepped forward, gently picked up the black figure from the ground, looked at it, and said, "It’s a vulture, there might be some animal carcasses around here, perhaps the lion pride is nearby."

Xiao Shun and Xun You also curiously gathered close, eager to take a closer look at this wild animal.

"Hold on! Listen!"

Lord Bear suddenly made a silencing gesture and then perked up his ears, listening intently to something.

"Uh, do you hear anything? I don’t hear anything," Hu Peng asked, with a puzzled look on his face.

Lord Bear didn’t have time to respond, he ran straight toward Weiss’s beloved car and, with a light leap, jumped onto the front hood, then climbed onto the roof.

"Fuck! Damn you, Bell! What are you doing! Get off Cassandra right now!"

Weiss instantly flared up in anger.

Lord Bear tiptoed and looked in a direction, then a knowing look crossed his face.

"There’s a group of vultures over there; they must be feeding. It seems the lion pride recently hunted down some isolated animal nearby."

As he spoke, he jumped down from above, with Weiss hurriedly running over to check the part of the car that had been stepped on, his face full of distress.

"Let’s go, the route ahead is just right, we might see the lion pride while passing by," Bell said.

"Damn you, Bell, if you dare do anything like that to my Cassandra again, don’t blame me for giving you a severe lesson later!"

Bell patted Weiss’s shoulder, laughed, and said, "Haha, got it, just this once."

With that, the group continued on their way. After driving a few hundred meters, Xiao Shun and the others saw the group of vultures gathered not far off.

Upon seeing the huge off-road vehicle, the vultures immediately scattered, flapping their wings; some circled in the sky, while others stood far off, watching this way.

Lord Bear glanced at the scene outside, his expression suddenly changing, and he immediately shouted to Weiss beside him.

"Hold on! Weiss, stop the car! Stop the car!"

The sudden reaction startled everyone, and Weiss, acting on instinct, slammed on the brakes, bringing the vehicle to a halt once again.

Lord Bear ignored his quip, got out of the car, and walked up to the bodies.

On the grass in front of them lay many bodies, scattered haphazardly. These bodies were not unfamiliar to them; they were indeed the lions that Xiao Shun had been incessantly eager to see!

Weiss held his gun, his gaze fixed on the lions on the ground, as if trying to find some clue from them.

"Not other carnivores? Could it then be man-made? But I haven’t found any bullet holes on them. If it was poisoning, then how do you explain these tearing marks?" Weiss asked.

The rest of the group paused upon hearing this, then caught on and couldn’t help but look worried.

The group discussed this in the car, effectively putting an end to this round of discussions.

Just then, the vehicle that had been moving suddenly stopped. The engine, after emitting two pained groans, went completely silent.
