Chapter 307: Chapter 191: The Second Round of Interviews
"Engineer?"
At the mention of this from Yang Yangyang, Sun Hao’s eyes immediately sparked with unexpected delight, though he quickly lowered his head again.
"Thank you for your high regard, but my certificate has been revoked. According to the relevant regulations, I am not allowed to hold the position of an engineer."
Yang Yangyang held up a finger and shook it, saying, "You don’t need to worry about that at all. Your future workplace will be overseas. As long as your abilities are sufficient, we can let you take this job. Of course, that’s provided everything you just told us is true. We will verify this."
"Overseas? Yes, yes, I am supposed to work overseas. Without a certificate, that should be no problem, right... But, is this really okay? Are there any regulations by the local government?"
"Rest assured, there are no such regulations there. When the time comes, you just need to focus on your work. As for the specific location, we will tell you after you pass the second round of interviews and sign a confidentiality agreement."
The words of Yang Yangyang acted like a calming agent, settling the anxious heart of Sun Hao and making him look forward to his future life even more.
"By the way, I previously took a survey questionnaire you provided online and received a feedback code. Is this useful?"
Sun Hao asked.
Yang Yangyang was momentarily stunned and then responded, "Oh? You completed the questionnaire? Please show me the feedback code, and I’ll check the results."
He was actually quite surprised; he hadn’t expected anyone would actually complete that questionnaire, which was initially created just to conduct a preliminary survey.
But whether it was due to the short timeframe or the obscurity of the page, or perhaps lack of interest, very few people had filled it out. Like Sun Hao, who brought it up during the interview, was truly a first.
Then, Sun Hao brought up the saved image and told Yang Yangyang the feedback code, who input it into the computer to review his answers.
"I can see that you answered the questionnaire very seriously,"
Yang Yangyang nodded to Sun Hao, indicating that there would be some extra points awarded as he had promised.
In fact, for the position this young man was applying for, there were no other competitors. As long as he did not perform too poorly in the second round of the interview, the engineer position would naturally be his.
"Oh? Let me ask, why did you choose ’yes’ for the last question?"
Yang Yangyang, intrigued by the last question the man had answered, suddenly became more curious.
Sun Hao replied, "Actually, I’m not sure of the specific reason myself. If left to purely imagine, I might not choose to save people, but if a crisis were to really happen around me, most of the time I’d probably not have enough time to think so much and would instinctively go to save someone. If I had to find a reason, I guess it might just be an instinct of being human."
"Oh? Why are you so sure about this?" Yang Yangyang asked curiously.
"Because, I’ve actually encountered something similar before..."
Sun Hao then recounted what had happened, and after listening, the other three people fell silent, viewing this chubby young man in a new light.
"Not bad, your action aligns well with our company’s values. Friend, I have high hopes for you!" Yang Yangyang affirmed.
Sun Hao, suddenly praised like this, felt a bit embarrassed but also gained more confidence about securing the position.
At that moment, Yang Yangyang looked at his watch and then said to everyone:
"Hmm... It’s almost four o’clock now, we should speed things up as well. Let’s not delay any longer and go prepare for the second round of interviews."
The group tidied up the area and led the last of the interviewees to conference room number 9.
Conference room number 9, located on the eastern end of the Edge of the World Pavilion, was not very large, but it was exquisitely arranged.
At this moment, ten people had arrived in the conference room, nine men and one woman, the only female being the first interviewee, Tang Xueke.
Ji Xiaoqi silently counted the number of people and muttered, "Ten people in total have come. It seems two are missing. Did they give up?"
Yang Yangyang replied, "I suppose so. Fortunately, we over-recruited this time. The two who left aren’t irreplaceable. Otherwise, it would have been a hassle to find new people, which could have been troublesome."
Apparently, everyone knew that the company was only recruiting five people this time, and everyone in the room was in competition with each other. The large conference room was unusually quiet, with no one speaking to each other.
Once everyone was seated, including the reliable Sun Hao, there were eleven interviewees in total in the room.
Besides them, there was an additional person in the room, a man in his fifties named Wang Jianbin, a senior engineer from the Snow Crystal Group. He was attending on behalf of Su Changqing to assist with and assess the second round of interviews.
"Everyone, firstly, I am very thankful that you all chose our company. This is the second round of interviews, which will be conducted in an open format. This round mainly aims to test your professional abilities. We will provide a few practical scenario questions for the corresponding candidates to solve,"
spoke Ji Xiaoqi. She clearly had put some effort into preparing for this part of the process, and her delivery was quite convincing.
"After the second round of interviews, we will ask you all to sign a confidentiality agreement. Then, we will share some information about the job locations. After that, you can decide whether you would like to join our company,"
she concluded, distributing the papers she held to everyone. These documents contained the assessment questions, which varied according to the positions the candidates were applying for.
The question-answering process was very quiet and went smoothly. Each person only received one question, so the process was quite fast. In less than half an hour, everyone had completed their tests.
"Uncle Wang, these matters would require the expertise of a professional like you for evaluation," Su Changqing said politely.
Old Wang was not pretentious; after all, this was his boss’s son. He promptly returned the politeness before beginning to check the test results.
"Regarding the handling of drainage and water retention in underground constructions, and how to plan electrical wiring... Hmm, these answers are quite standard, but it’s a pity they didn’t consider the issue of backup circuits. There are also potential hazards in the cross-structuring of the underground pipes. Looks like some points might have to be deducted..."
