When a Hitman Gets Haunted by a Ghost
Chapter 87: Game On (M)

Chapter 87: Game On (M)

Gabriel fumbled with the door code, his fingers pressing the wrong digits twice in quick succession. He cursed under his breath, his thumb pausing against the cool surface of the keypad.

His heart sprinted like a racehorse. After all his shameless jokes, now that it came to the real thing, he was all over the place.

The door beeped on the third attempt, and Gabriel hurried to pull it open, almost too relieved to even register the sound.

He busied himself with pulling off his coat and kicking off his boots, acting nonchalant despite listening to Kant moving behind him.

The sound of a zipper opening, followed by a deep breath and a struggling sigh.

The first thought Gabriel had was that Kant somehow managed to reinjure himself in the last ten seconds. But when he whirled around, the man was just trying to untangle his scarf from the zipper.

Relieved to have something to distract himself with, Gabriel took over. "It’s stuck?"

Kant hummed, watching him. Staring. So much.

Gabriel licked his lips, trying not to focus on the way Kant was sweating or how the skin on his neck was hot and damp to touch. The thick wool must have been very warm.

"Do I get a prize for finishing this difficult task?" Gabriel quipped, slipping the scarf off Kant and hanging it over his own neck. "How is it? Does it suit me?"

Kant raised a brow. "It’s mine." He pulled on the scarf, but only ended up bringing them closer.

"But if you’re mine, then what belongs to you is also mine, right?" Gabriel slowly steered him towards the couch.

Kant went down willingly, sinking into the cushions as he was pushed. "I’m yours, huh?"

Lord have mercy. Gabriel had seen that stoic face so many times before, but never like this—lips parted in a shallow exhale, a flush spreading all the way up to the darkness under his eyes. Even his brows were relaxed for once.

Gabriel swallowed thickly. Suddenly, all he could think about was getting him out of that turtleneck.

They held eye contact for what felt like an incredibly long five seconds, then Kant said, "Go ahead."

Strike! The bowling pins of Gabriel’s restraint got knocked over.

Without a second wasted, he grabbed the hem of Kant’s shirt and yanked it all the way up and over his head unceremoniously.

But the relaxed look on Kant’s face was replaced by the dumbfounded expression of someone who’d just experienced a whiplash.

Gabriel’s shoulders shook as he tried to hold in a laugh, brushing the hair away from Kant’s eyes. "Sorry. Too rough?"

"Am I getting to leave in one piece after this?" Kant asked dryly.

"You’re planning to leave?" Gabriel braced his arms on either side of Kant’s head, frowning. "Don’t."

The request came out more vulnerable than he’d intended, and Gabriel winced. Alright, maybe he was clingy and desperate, very obviously even. But his worries vanished as Kant met his eyes, gaze so deep it felt like staring into his soul.

"I won’t." Kant’s fingers curled into the edges of the scarf, pulling it closer to himself in gentle tugs. "Unless you kick me out."

Gabriel chuckled when the tightening wool left him no choice but to press down. "You wish."

He went for a slow kiss, making a claim. Receiving a confirmation.

When the hold on the scarf finally loosened, Gabriel pulled back just enough to murmur, "Again?"

Kant exhaled a quiet laugh. "Yeah."

But as he leaned in again, Gabriel dodged last second, taking a guilty pleasure in the way it left Kant chasing after him.

"How about we take this to my bedroom?"

Kant’s eyes narrowed at the blatantly satisfied smirk hovering over him. "You’re doing that on purpose."

Gabriel laughed, caught red-handed. "Doing what on purpose?"

"You know what." Kant scooped him off the couch.

"Oof!" Gabriel couldn’t do anything but cling onto his shoulders as he was carried away, giggling along the way.

He was set down on the bed gently, like he was something precious. Warm mouth kissed down his chest, almost politely so.

Kant didn’t look awkward about it, no, on the contrary—he seemed content to take his sweet time. But the night wasn’t exactly young.

Gabriel hooked his leg around Kant’s, flipping them over, then tilted his chin up for a demanding kiss, sucking hard on the bottom lip. At the same time, his hand moved down.

He popped the button of Kant’s jeans and dragged the zipper down. The fabric parted easily, and when he slid his hand beneath, he was met with feverish heat and rigid want.

Kant tensed, his eyes nearly rolling back as Gabriel palmed him. "Gab..."

The little sigh that slipped from him sent electricity dancing through Gabriel’s ribs. He was going to make sure Kant would never be able to forget him, much less stay away.

But the next thing he knew was his own pants being unbuttoned. His brows shot up as he looked at Kant.

"What, did you expect this to be a one-way road?" Kant teased, pulling him down.

"Not at all..." Gabriel braced an arm behind Kant’s head and nudged his pants away.

He stared as Kant deftly unbuttoned his shirt, brow furrowed in efficient concentration.

What had triggered the sudden change? Did Gabriel flip some invisible switch? Or had Kant just been holding back until now?

The shirt was pushed off his shoulders, their positions shifting slightly with Kant seated on the edge of the bed, Gabriel in his lap with knees resting on either side.

"Wait, your leg...?" Gabriel felt around for the exact location of the bandage beneath the denim to remind himself not to put weight on it.

"It’ll be fine." Kant’s hands glided over his bare thighs, pulling him in by the knees. "Don’t think about it."

Gabriel could only watch as Kant’s hand moved down between their legs, pressing them together and stroking, eyes gleaming with desire.

The thought "so lewd" ran through Gabriel’s head, unnaturally so—he’d never even imagined those words could be applied to Kant.

Kant noticed him gaping, and smirked. "No fun when you’re not the one calling the shots?"

Gabriel chuckled breathlessly. "Nnn...no, I like it, keep going."

Sweat glistened on Kant’s skin. His body felt so warm, so real. It felt a thousand times better than any dreams or fantasies.

He never wanted this to end.

Kant began twisting his hand with every upward stroke, keeping a pace that had Gabriel’s toes curling into the couch.

"Kan..."

"Hm?" Kant murmured, his eyes fixed on Gabriel’s face. "Good?"

"Hah... Yeah, but..."

Gabriel couldn’t help but feel a little disappointed to think it would end so soon. He chewed on his lip thoughtfully, then raised his head, an idea sparking.

"Wait," he stopped Kant’s hand and leaned over to sift through his nightstand drawer.

Kant’s eyes skimmed over the colorful collection of toys, widening slightly, but Gabriel only picked out a small bottle of lube and shut the drawer.

Kant watched him warily. "What are you gonna do with that?"

"Nothing too extreme for the first time." Gabriel flicked the cap open and squirted some into his palm. He took a moment to warm it up before wrapping his slick fingers back around them both.

The wet sound that followed made it hard to hold in any gasps, which was all the response his body could manage.

Gabriel watched, hypnotized, as the flush from Kant’s face spread all the way down his chest, muscles tensing as he kept his reactions under control.

"Let’s see who breaks first," Gabriel taunted.

A soft scoff. "You want this to be a competition?"

"If you think you can last."

Kant arched his brow, his lips curling into a smirk. "You’re telling that to me?"

"Ooh, cocky." Gabriel flashed a grin. "Loser has to do whatever the winner wants."

"You don’t need a wish for that."

"Will you do anything I ask?"

Kant tilted his head lazily. "...Depends."

"See? I do need that wish."

Their lips met again, sucking sloppy kisses.

Kant tried to keep his breathing steady, but Gabriel deliberately stole every exhale from his mouth.

The air had turned hot and moist between them. Tension wound tighter and tighter, like a rubber band being stretched to its limit just to be loosened before it snapped.

"What do you want from me so much that you’re doing this?" Kant’s fingers teased up Gabriel’s back, his touch light and ticklish.

Gabriel shivered. "If you say your wishes out loud, they won’t come true."

He mouthed at the underside of Kant’s jaw, pressing wet kisses everywhere he could reach.

The way Kant’s head tipped back as if the world was dissolving beneath him, the little winces of pleasure... It was almost too much.

Gabriel sank his teeth into Kant’s shoulder, keeping an eye on the way Kant’s brow twisted. He was going to explode any moment, but he wasn’t going to be the first one. The victory was his for sure.

Just a little more... just a little—

Then Kant cupped his chin, fingers strong but careful, and Gabriel barely had time to register the heat in his eyes before he heard it.

"Harder."

A whisper, purposefully provocative and breathy, but it hit Gabriel like a shock to the system. Kant’s hand squeezed over his, taking over the pace.

Gabriel’s body reacted against his will—hips jolting forward, thighs tensing, breath stuttering. He was losing. No. No way. He almost had it.

"Kant, I— ngh— wait, I—"

The words crumbled mid-syllable as the world flashed white, punching a soft gasp out of him.

Game Over.

Somewhere through the haze, he felt Kant’s grip tighten, guiding him through the final waves with slow strokes, drawing out every last shudder. He wasn’t even sure which of them was shaking more.

When the tension eased, Kant exhaled deeply, letting their bodies sink into the sheets.

Gabriel sprawled on top of him with a sigh, completely spent. He couldn’t even be embarrassed about losing his own game when it felt this intense.

They lay in silence for a few moments, basking in the afterglow, listening to the soft ticking of the clock somewhere further away.

Then Kant glanced down, a satisfied smile on his lips. "I won."
