Chapter 346: Chapter 345: Two Plans

The first approach involves using traditional mechanical principles to install the Flow-based Operating System on the Dark Gold Battle Star. This system features a micro-aggregation program embedded within Flow Base Electronics. With a microsystem, control over the Dark Gold Battle Star can be achieved, resembling the giant robots researched by the Iron Base Civilization in the past.

However, at that time, due to insufficient technology, the Iron Base Civilization failed in system control. In contrast, the Wandering Alliance, as a Level 4 Civilization, boasts a wealth of experience in the manufacture of robots and certainly has the technology and capability to implement this approach—and likely do it even better than imagined.

However, this plan requires one condition.

That is, if the Flow Base system is to be exceptionally intelligent, it means that it needs to possess self-awareness. Otherwise, if it operates only on fixed programs, it would significantly weaken the combat capability of the Dark Gold Battle Star. Moreover, since robots gained independence, the Wandering Alliance has established regulations governing the creation of intelligent life, mandating that any intelligent life they create must be treated as legal and equal citizens.

This means that if this approach is applied to the Dark Gold Battle Star, the Dark Gold itself essentially becomes a life form.

However, considering that directly creating new intelligent life would require it to grow and would unlikely provide strong combat support during the growth phase, this does not align well with the demands of the Wandering Alliance.

Therefore, scientists added a condition to this plan: they suggest transferring the consciousness of old robots into the Dark Gold Battle Star. With a brief familiarization period to adapt to the control changes, the Dark Gold Battle Star could then exhibit its strongest combat power. However, there is a flaw in this method: the robots transferred into the Dark Gold must stay within the Battle Star for an extended period and might never be able to return to their original state.

This also means that their life forms will undergo a transformation.

The second approach is bolder, more advanced, and more visionary than the first.

This is because the concept for the second approach originated from research on Celestial Life, which scientists have been attempting to understand—the fundamental differences between Celestial Civilizations and biological civilizations, as well as the possibility of conversion between the two. Moreover, they are exploring what could be the ultimate and best form of life in the Universe.

In this research project, the relevant scientific teams have already begun using devices to convert the consciousness of biological life into the Intention (Yi Zi) of Celestial Civilizations, thus achieving a grand transformation between different types of life.

Based on this advanced research technology, which has already yielded partial results, scientists proposed the second approach: directly converting the consciousness of certain individuals into the Dark Gold Battle Star, allowing them to become a Celestial Civilization, thus achieving perfect control over the Planet Battle Star, much like the Wandering.

While the first and second approaches seem similar, they are fundamentally different.

The first approach still relies on system principles and, despite changes in life form, the essence remains unchanged. The second approach, however, signifies a transition both in form and essence, which may confer significant advantages in the face of potential future changes.

For instance, if the mass of the Planet Battle Star increases, the first approach would require a system upgrade to match, whereas the second approach would not.

Of course, the consequences of both approaches are the same: once the transformation is complete, there is no returning to the previous form. Therefore, whether it is the first or second approach, the Wandering Alliance will respect the wishes of those who choose and will clarify the advantages and disadvantages for them. If some people are tired of being human and wish to experience a new life form, prepared to give up all worldly attachments, they are welcome to sign up for this great and perilous plan.

The greatness of this plan lies in its forward-thinking and revolutionary philosophy.

The plan could provide an unconventional evolutionary path for life at the pinnacle of its existence and may even allow biological life to break free from biological constraints and the necessity of food—something never seen before. Hence, this could be deemed one of the greatest plans in the history of the Wandering Alliance.

Of course, with everything, there are risks involved. As the saying goes, "Yin and Yang complement each other, fortune and misfortune are intertwined, benefits and drawbacks are one and the same." The danger of this plan lies in its vision being too ahead of its time; a single misstep could lead to unforeseen consequences, even potentially causing an alternative form of extinction for biological life.

It is with these two considerations in mind that Constant Star Lu Chen takes a cautious stance toward this plan.

Indeed, embarking on reform into the unknown is full of risks; each step could be irreversible, necessitating extreme caution, especially when it concerns the fate of all biological civilizations.

Whether to embrace the new age or self-destruct often hangs by a thread.

Moreover, in Lu Chen’s view, this plan indeed represents a form of reform, or at least has tendencies of reform—a total transformation of life’s essence, shape, and philosophy.

Hence, Lu Chen has requested that scientists conduct pilot operations first, implementing half of the first approach and half of the second approach, selecting suitable volunteers from society.

Additionally, Lu Chen solemnly emphasizes that the plan must not be implemented on a large scale until all issues associated with life transformation have been thoroughly resolved. If biological civilization were to completely transform into Celestial Civilization, one typical dilemma would be how to make more efficient use of technology.

After all, technology is the mainstream direction of development in the Universe.

Regarding this concern, the scientific team working on the Celestial Life research project also has contingency plans. Although they do not yet have a definitive solution, they believe that the use of technology by Celestial Life is likely hidden in the development path of the Atomic Computer.

This belief has gained agreement among many scientists.

Most scientists believe that if the Atomic Computer is successfully developed, it will signify a great revolution in the computing world, even more momentous than the advent of the Quantum Computer, and will likely spark a genuine computing revolution, fundamentally changing social structures, survival philosophies, and scientific paradigms.

With the emergence of the Atomic Computer, all their concerns should be resolved.

Although scientists still do not know the specific solution, they believe that when computation is achieved on particles as small as atoms, everything will be miniaturized. At that time, Celestial Life and microscopic technology, both on the microscopic level, will naturally converge.

Scientists refer to this phenomenon as the Microbiotechnology Revolution—the abbreviation for the Micro Life and Micro Technology Revolution.

The Atomic Computer and Life Conversion Technology will be critical catalysts in this civilizational advancement revolution and will also be their only path to harnessing Source Material Information Energy!
