Vengeance of The Broken Lycan Prince [BL] -
Chapter 225: Remember This Moment With Me
Chapter 225: Remember This Moment With Me
[KAWAI]
"I don’t understand," Danny began as he looked at the two. It was like this was a utopia and he was roped right into it. There had to be a mistake somewhere because there was just no way that this was real.
This couldn’t be happening to him and right when they were in search of what needed to have their attention. What the fuck was the King playing at this time? Was this some test to see how Danny could be trusted?
Or was it just the many things about the Lycan King that Daniel Belova needed to make peace with?
All of this wasn’t making any sense because they were supposed to be looking for Konstantin, and not chatting with the one woman who could have probably started the series of messes that they had been trapped in.
It wasn’t fair and it was obvious, but then the mad King clearly didn’t see it like that. Why the fuck was he even entertaining this woman then?
"You don’t have to, Daniel. This is not something that your brain can comprehend," Zula said and Zaffuto let out a warning growl at Zula, something that not only shocked the woman but Danny himself.
If Danny didn’t know any better, he could have been tempted to think that the King had defended him, but was it that or was he just hallucinating already?
"For him?" Zula asked, confirming Danny’s suspicions.
"He is mine, Zula. Anything that is mine has to be treated with respect. He is someone I value so much and I would appreciate it if you didn’t try to kill him every five minutes. He must not die and if he does die, I will kill you, sister.
"You know that too, right? And let the spell you have been trying to strangle him with go or I will be forced to think otherwise," Zaffuto said calmly and Danny stared at him in shock.
This was not what he had signed up for and it was weird as fuck.
The man was unpredictable as fuck and he wasn’t even sure if he himself knew what the fuck he wanted to make of the entire thing. Maybe he was losing his mind or maybe he had just lost it, but it didn’t even seem so anyway.
So what the fuck was at play right now then?
"Fine. You’re no fun," Zula said and Zaffuto just laughed.
"So, where is my son’s Erasthai? We both know you created the powder and you could track where it was issued. Where is Igor Konstantin, Zula?" King Zaffuto asked, his tone changing from the light one to one that Danny had been eyeing the entire week since they had started looking for Igor.
It had been a hectic week and the King had been struggling to hold his own. It was a desperate attempt at making things right and at this moment, Danny understood the man.
The Lycan Chief was at his most vulnerable state and he was not going to be handling his what with ease. So much had happened to the man already and the misfortunes that had been befalling them were things that the King was not willing to play with.
He wanted his son’s Erasthai back and he would burn down the realm if that was what it would take to get Konstantin out. One thing that Zaffuto was certain of was that he wasn’t dead.
If the Chief was dead, the weather would have changed and the kingdom would have been forced to mourn for three years automatically. The skies and the moon would have long shifted.
That hadn’t happened yet, which made it even more obvious that their Lycan Chief was somewhere in the realm, hidden by powerful creatures and Zula Hinata was one place to start.
"I don’t know," Zula said and the King just glared at her.
"We can do this the easy way or the hard way, Zula. There are over a thousand dead wolves out there because you were stupid enough to trigger the rogues to go after that which they shouldn’t have.
"Kaito is on fire and will not spare any of them. As much as I love seeing him murder people, I know my son needs his Erasthai. So, I will ask again, where is he?" King Zaffuto insisted and Zula started turning pale.
It was so sudden and Danny couldn’t even understand what had triggered her. Then again, he knew that the woman had tried to kill him just moments ago, so this wasn’t supposed to even be shocking for him.
He had been a victim long before he even knew what it meant to be one.
But damn the king was not going easy on Zula, no?
"I don’t have him," Zula said as she started coughing lumps of clotted blood.
"So, you want to keep playing this game then, huh? Let’s get to it because I already murdered Mick and Terrian, so I just have to watch you fade. Your shelter reeks of the omega and you are desperate to mask it.
"Didn’t you know that you never could out-march my masking skills, little sister?" Zaffuto asked and Danny had the horror of watching the warlock bend down on her knees while she began vomiting huge chunks of clotted blood.
It was disgusting and disheartening at the same time. Danny knew that this woman would die if the King kept on and yet the mad King didn’t even seem to be so worried about his apparent siblings, what the fuck kind of bond was this?
Families were supposed to hold each other close. They were supposed to be the anchors that kept people alive, and yet right now, it was like Zaffuto had no regard for that same family.
It was surprising as hell, how the entire time the mad King was smiling like this was just a normal occurrence for them when it truly wasn’t.
None of them had to deal with this, but then Zula had to give up the Lycan Chief or she would be dead. It was obvious, and the King had made certain to give her the time to change her mind about lying to him.
It was interesting though; how insistent Zula was.
"Killing me won’t get him back, Hinata," Zula forced out as she puked her guts out.
She couldn’t seriously be talking back to the King when she was in that state, right? There was no way that shit could have gotten that complicated when they had to just try and figure out what part of life they had to be in.
This wasn’t what it needed to be like, but at the end of the day, there wasn’t much that she could do other than come clean to the mad King this instant. It was not that hard, but why the fuck was Zula stalling?
"Check the shelter, Daniel. Call out the Lycan Chief and see if he is still here now that his omega ascent is suffocating this damned place," King Zaffuto said and Danny looked at the man like he had gone bonkers.
Danny couldn’t smell any other scent other than his. It was even strange that he was curious about whether the mad King had a scent or not. It was crazy because that was not possible.
But then again, it was very possible, judging by how Zaffuto Hinata was, the man didn’t have time to be playing games with anyone right now. The king was dead serious about getting his son’s happiness back.
Seeing Tamiko hurt had broken the king’s heart and he couldn’t let that happen to his son again. He would save whatever was left of that damned relationship, and if that meant he had to make an enemy of his sister in the process, then Zaffuto didn’t mind.
After all, they all had things that were important to fight for. They all had things they would give up the realm for and Tamiko’s happiness was that for the king, his son was his lifeline and hells would be damned first before the king gave up on that for his son.
"I don’t smell anything other than my scent," Danny said softly, unsure of whether he wanted to question the king. This man could hurt him in seconds and Daniel wouldn’t even have a thing to say about that.
He was just as desperate but life is never going to be the way they always resort to this. Then again, with the King out her acting like the barbarian he was, Danny could tell that this was more than serious.
"Lift the masking Zula or I will... and it will hurt you worse than you are feeling now," Zaffuto said to his sister who was already clutching her stomach from the amount of his blood she had vomited.
She was feeling like shit and Danny felt terrible for her. Surely, there had to be a better way to deal with this, right? This couldn’t be the end of the road for them, and this couldn’t be what they made of living after so much time.
It just didn’t seem fair, but that wasn’t something that King Zaffuto was interested in at the moment. All he wanted was his son to be happy and he would see to it that that had been made a result come hell or high water.
He wouldn’t stop, even if the fates begged him to.
"I—"
"Lift it, Zula," King Zaffuto insisted.
Danny felt terrible for the woman but this had to be done.
"There’s no point... he... he is in the first chamber," Zula said right before she fell unconscious, while her body still bled from all openings.
Zaffuto didn’t care.
He just went for his son’s Erasthai.
