Chapter 72: Moaning Fight

"Bravo," Ethan clapped slowly, his voice echoing through the vault chamber. "I’m glad you finally figured it out."

Master Yun, Gregory, Seraphina, and Luke all turned toward the sound.

"But," Ethan continued with a smirk, "now it’s too late. I already got everything I wanted."

He pulled off his clown mask with a casual flourish. His smug grin underneath was unmistakable. Behind him, Luke and Seraphina remained silent, their masks still covering their faces, but their presence stood tall and firm beside Ethan.

Gregory’s face twisted in shock as he stared at the boy in front of him.

"You..." he whispered.

"You?!" Master Yun echoed at the same time.

"Yeah," Ethan said with a sarcastic bow. "Me. Surprise, dumbfuckers."

The atmosphere in the vault shifted in an instant.

Master Yun and Gregory looked at each other, realization dawning on both of them at the same time. In that brief moment, both of them imagined clown masks on each other’s faces. Their world collapsed around them like shattered glass.

All the confusion, all the misunderstandings—they now made sense.

Gregory fell to his knees, his mind spinning. "No... This can’t be..."

Master Yun let out a sudden laugh. It started as a chuckle, then grew into full-blown maniacal laughter.

"Remarkable..." he said between gasps. "You’re a remarkable young boy... I’m really impressed."

He kept laughing. "You outsmarted me. You made me fight my own student. You manipulated me into thinking he betrayed me. You played me like a puppet, and I danced to your strings! A master... and his student... turned into enemies... All because of you!"

Ethan rubbed the back of his neck with mock shyness. "Aw, stop it. I’m getting all flustered from your compliments."

Master Yun’s laughter suddenly cut off. His expression changed. Gone was the amusement. His eyes now burned with fury. His pride was bruised. He couldn’t believe he’d been played... by a kid.

He let out a deep breath, trying to steady himself.

"No matter," he muttered. "If I kill you now... this all ends."

He stepped forward, cracking his knuckles.

But then he smirked again. "You even made a mess during the royal execution. Saved Gregory from the gallows... Of course, the Knox family helped, didn’t they? The Hayes too. Without their backing, you wouldn’t have been able to do any of this."

"Well, you’re not wrong," Ethan admitted with a shrug. "Connections help."

Yun’s eyes narrowed. "I admire your guts, boy. Making a fool out of the royal family too? If they find out you orchestrated all this... not even those families can save you."

Luke and Seraphina quietly chuckled at that.

Ethan looked Yun straight in the eye and smirked again. "I could say the same about you."

Then he slowly pulled a folder from inside his jacket and held it up. It had a royal insignia on the front.

Yun’s expression changed in an instant. His face lost all color.

"The royal assassination file..." Ethan said.

Yun clenched his fists. He has it.

The folder that could end him—the one that tied him to assassination attempts, smuggling, treason, was now in Ethan’s hands.

He turned sharply toward Gregory. "Come on, Gregory. Don’t just stand there. We have the same enemy now. If we kill him," he pointed to Ethan, "all of this ends. We can clean this up. Together."

Ethan chuckled. "Well, my problem will end too if you try."

Gregory slowly rose to his feet, his body trembling. But not from pain, from rage. His eyes locked onto Ethan with hatred.

"I trusted you..." he muttered. "You saved me. You talked like a friend. You made me believe..."

He pointed at Ethan, eyes bloodshot. "I’LL KILL YOU!"

Ethan smirked. "You can try."

Yun’s stance tightened, Gregory’s fists clenched, and Luke and Seraphina stood silently.

Gregory lunged at Ethan with a wild punch.

"You Fucker!" He shouted, his fist flying.

Ethan dodged casually and smirked. "Relax, Greg. You’re not even the biggest clown in the room. That title still goes to your ’master.’"

Master Yun growled and stepped in, throwing a kick at Ethan’s side.

Ethan spun and ducked, grabbed a golden goblet off a nearby table, and bonked Yun right on the forehead with a solid clunk.

"Oops," Ethan said innocently. "Sorry, I mistook your head for a drum."

Gregory, behind him, tried to punch again,Ethan side-stepped, and Gregory’s fist went straight into Yun’s gut instead.

"Oof,You idiot!" Yun coughed.

Ethan whistled. "Wow. The student and master almost kissed just now. Cute."

"SHUT UP!" they both yelled at once.

They charged at him together.

Ethan ducked between them, rolled under a table, and popped out the other side with a smug grin. "This is fun."

Gregory lunged again. Ethan grabbed a hanging chain from a lamp and swung sideways, knocking Gregory into a cabinet.

"Thanks again, Gregory," Ethan said as Gregory tumbled into a pile of smuggled gold. "Without you, we’d never have found this vault. You should really take a bow."

"I’LL KILL YOU!" Gregory roared from under a box labeled.

Master Yun was already coming in fast, fists flying with precision. Ethan blocked one punch with a shield made of folders, spun, and kicked Yun in the butt.

Yun flew forward with a grunt, and landed right on Gregory.

The two men groaned in pain as their limbs tangled awkwardly.

"You two sure you’re not dating?" Ethan asked, tilting his head. "Because the way you landed... it’s kinda romantic."

"GET OFF ME!" Gregory barked, shoving Yun.

"YOU move your stinking knee!" Yun snapped back.

They both stood up, faces red.

"You’re proud of him?" Ethan pointed at Yun mockingly. "He calls you Master like you’re some wise sensei. But you only saw him as a disposable tool. Say it with me now,’Thank you, Ethan, for showing me the truth!’"

"YOU—!"

Yun charged. Ethan ducked under a swing and kneed him in the stomach.

But Gregory came from behind and tried to grab Ethan. Ethan stepped aside, and Gregory’s hand accidentally landed on Yun’s crotch.

There was a solid pause.

Gregory blinked. "That’s not your waist—"

Yun’s face turned red. "BASTARD!"

Ethan howled with laughter.

Yun threw a punch. Ethan caught his arm and spun him right into Gregory again. They crashed into a stack of gold bars, the sound of metal and curses filling the chamber.

Yun growled, wiping blood from his lip. "How did you even know where I hid the painting?!"

Ethan wiped imaginary sweat off his brow. "I didn’t," he said with a grin.

"...What?" Yun narrowed his eyes.

"I didn’t have to know," Ethan continued.

Yun snapped. He launched forward, catching Ethan’s shirt and slamming him against a table.

"You know too much," Yun hissed. "Once I kill you, the Hayes family will be mine. No one else knows about my plans, about the eldest princess...!"

Ethan burst into wild laughter.

"You... you’re really saying this while literally confessing to treason out loud?" Ethan said. "Man, the king is going to have so much fun with this."

Yun’s eyes widened, realizing too late that Luke and Seraphina were still silently recording everything behind their masks.

Gregory stood, shaking, bloodied but grinning. "You two deserve each other."

"Correction," Ethan said, stepping away from Yun’s grip. "They deserve to fall together."

He kicked a stool. It flew straight into Gregory’s face.

"Ow!"

Gregory retaliated with a random chair, but Ethan ducked and it hit Yun in the knee.

"MY KNEE!"

The three clashed again. This time, they rolled on the floor like a pile of tangled limbs, with fists, curses, and the occasional slap to the face.

Luke whispered to Seraphina, "This is like watching a clown circus."

Seraphina chuckled, still filming. "No, this is better.

In the middle of the chaos, as fists and feet kept flying, Ethan ducked a wild swing from Gregory and yelled over his shoulder, "Hey! You two! My loyal companions! You’re enjoying the drama a little too much. Mind helping your boy out here?"

Seraphina stretched lazily near a pillar, dusting imaginary dirt from her sleeve. "I’ll help from here. I’m tired. That last guard I kicked had garlic breath. Totally ruined my vibe."

Ethan dodged a kick from Yun, spun, and blocked a punch from Gregory. "Tired?!"

She smirked. "Exactly.I don’t fight unless it’s stylish."

Luke stood beside her, arms crossed, amused. Ethan narrowed his eyes. "Then how, exactly, are you helping?"

Seraphina winked. "Simple. I just have to remove my mask."

Ethan blinked. "Please do. This master-student slapfest is getting stale. I’m dying for a plot twist."

Seraphina slowly removed her mask with a dramatic flourish. "Tadaa~" she grinned.

Luke followed, pulling his own off with a slight nod.

Master Yun froze.

Gregory’s eyes bulged.

Seraphina stepped forward. "I hope you like my surprise gift, Master Yun."

Silence. Yun’s pupils dilated. His world crumbled in one breath.

He turned and stared at Gregory like he was a wet sock. "You... dumb... fucker. You brought the princess and the royal knight into my secret vault. You really... ruined everything."

Before he could do anything, Seraphina dashed forward like a shadow and slammed her foot into his groin.

CRACK.

"AAASHHHN—MY BALLS!!!"

Yun dropped like a sack of rotten rice, twitching on the cold stone floor.

Ethan stood frozen. "D-did he just... moan?

Luke sighed. "Yup."

Ethan nodded. "My day’s officially ruined."
