Chapter 60 Mirror
Chapter 60: Chapter 60 Mirror
"Let’s go back to the ship first," Andre said, leading the two of them back the way they had come.
After leaving the church, Andre raised his hand and rubbed his fingers. Line after line appeared, forming patterns like little birds that flew away.
As they passed through the town, they happened to see Chadite and Vanessa also heading towards the ship. Both wore expressions of puzzlement, but they kept their mouths shut and made their way to the dock to board the ship.
When they returned, all the main members had gathered on the deck.
"What’s going on? Why are you all back already?" Bobby asked curiously. It was a rare, peaceful island, and he had just gone ashore but hadn’t had the chance to explore when he received Andre’s message to return.
He then turned to look at Alka and Jason. "You already touched it?" he asked, surprised.
Andre replied directly, "There was a small accident, so we performed the touching ceremony directly on the ship."
Upon hearing Andre’s words, everyone nodded. Though curious, they refrained from asking further questions.
Then Andre looked at the two of them. "You two have just finished touching it, so go back to your rooms for now. Judging by your looks, you don’t seem to want to be disturbed."
Hearing Andre’s slightly teasing tone, the two nodded without hesitation and turned, heading back to the aft tower, looking rather hurried. Everyone understood, however, as they had all gone through it themselves before.
Alka pushed the door open and threw himself onto the bed, taking a deep breath. Lying there, he looked at his right hand and squeezed it tightly.
I can feel it. My strength has indeed increased significantly, and as the Magic Power surges within me, the enhancement continues to rise. The sensation is still quite apparent. But what puzzles me isn’t this; it’s the inside of my left forearm. After I touched the Treasure, with the surge of Magic Power, a tattoo like a broken chain appeared there. It certainly wasn’t there before. Why did this appear with the Magic Power? I can’t figure it out for now; I’ll have to wait and ask the others later.
He was more concerned about the Spell that had appeared in his mind when he touched the Mask. It was the Spell in that rectangular shape with a long, I-shaped character in the center. When this Spell appeared in my mind, I also instantly knew its information.
The information presented itself: "[Mirror]: The function of this Spell is that, after Guiding with Magic Power, it enables the creation of mirror after mirror. The size, hardness, and movement direction of the mirrors can be controlled, and they can be drawn in mid-air. The function is very simple: consume Magic Power to create mirrors."
Perhaps it’s because this Spell is so simple that I almost don’t need much practice, Alka thought. I can consume Magic Power and draw them in mid-air. Generally, drawing Spells in mid-air requires long practice and good control of internal Magic Power. But even though I’ve only just touched the Treasure, and my internal Magic Power has only just become active, I can already create mirrors with this Spell in mid-air. This doesn’t mean my talent is good; it’s more that the Spell itself is incredibly simple.
With that thought, Alka turned over and sat up on the edge of the bed, then raised his right hand. Clumsily, he controlled his Magic Power, channeling it into his right hand. It took almost ten seconds for the Magic Power to surge.
Then a Rune appeared in his mind: a rectangular frame with an I-shaped character at its center—the [Mirror] Rune. The Rune emitted a faint, translucent glow.
A palm-sized round mirror materialized in his palm, standing upright and floating slowly.
The mirror I created can be freely controlled.
As soon as this thought emerged, the mirror began to float around him according to his will. It floated for about six or seven meters before stiffening, its movement becoming somewhat awkward. It’s not a smooth feeling. Seems like I need more practice. With more practice, I should be able to make it fly farther.
Alka snapped his fingers, and the distant mirror shattered. The fragments disappeared into the air before they could fall.
At this, Alka couldn’t help but rest his chin in his hand. How to put it... this Spell feels weak and somewhat useless. Yet, it fits perfectly with my current system; I even have ideas for it already.
After all, the Magic techniques Alka was accustomed to using in combat were all derived from Jack’s knowledge. As a renowned Treasure Hunter known as the "Magician," Jack inevitably needed to fight. So, within Jack’s legacy of knowledge, there were many ideas and experiences about using Magic in combat. The most typical was Alka’s Flying Card technique. Even now, without the Ring, he could perform it perfectly. He controlled the Flying Card, making it execute various arcs, even spins, without issue, and with formidable power—just like thrown knives. And now that he had become a toucher and possessed Magic Power, many Magic techniques used in combat could be better utilized. A mirror that could freely float, be freely created, and altered in combat could indeed assist him. For others, it would likely only be a Spell to create mirrors on demand. It’s not particularly strong, but it really suits me.
Then Alka flipped his wrist, and a card appeared in his hand. Silver-gray in appearance, it was one of the three Spell cards Jack had left behind.
Now that I have Magic Power, holding a Spell card like this, I can sense even more from it. For instance, I can enhance its flight speed and power by channeling Magic Power into it, even allowing micro-control over its flight path. Also, I can control the duration of its effects. For example, with the Red Card I’ve already used, the effective time of its Spell, "Cross of Righteous Fire," could be controlled by me, instead of being fixed at three seconds. Considering the materials for making these cards, it seems it’s time to prepare.
With his thoughts sorted out and having adapted to his internal Magic Power, Alka stood up and headed out. Just then, he felt the ship’s vibrations; they were setting sail.
In the corridor next to the aft tower, he happened to see Jason walking out from a room at the back. They met and exchanged smiles.
Jason quickly came over. "What’s the name of the Treasure you touched?" he asked, curious. Upon touching a Treasure, one would instantly know its name.
"[Mental Mask]," Alka replied. "What about you?"
"Mine’s called [Crown of Harvest]. The name doesn’t sound too strong," Jason said.
"Did you grasp a Spell?" Alka asked.
"A Spell? No, wait... did you grasp one?"
Seeing Alka nod, Jason’s expression froze. Then, he slowly said, "Damn it, you’re unbelievable!"
