Chapter 54: Chapter 54 Information Provision (Extra update for Alliance Leader Black Eyes 1/5)
Andre stared at Alka. Nodding, he said, "Tell me your thoughts."
Alka nodded, thought for a moment, and said, "During the few days I stayed in the city on Meister Island, I visited some of the attractions."
"There’s an interesting spot called the Insect Museum. It’s very small, but you can tell it has some history."
"According to the curator, this museum was originally proposed by Sad and has been preserved to this day, having been renovated and relocated many times."
"At the time, I was collecting some information on Sad, so I paid attention."
At this point, Vanessa nodded in agreement. "There indeed was such information; I collected it at the time."
Then Alka looked at everyone and asked, "Do you know there’s a Praying Insect Valley on the island?"
Jason nodded. "I know, it’s at the back of the island. I’ve been there."
It seemed their collected information was far more detailed than he thought. What was missing was just the right moment to link this information, or perhaps a hint.
"I went there on the second day," Alka continued, "and met with the museum’s curator."
"He told me some traditions and stories about the valley."
Upon hearing this, everyone turned their heads to look at Jason.
Jason shrugged his shoulders helplessly and said a bit awkwardly, "I snuck in there at the time, just to have a look."
Alka continued, "Deep inside the valley stands a statue of a beetle called the Golden Horn Hammer, symbolizing courage and fearlessness."
"According to the curator, if it’s noon and the sun is shining brightly, you might see a Golden Horn Hammer beetle flying to the statue and using its horns to knock against it."
"At that time, the valley will resonate with the chirping of insects, accompanied by a rumbling sound."
"Like the sound of moving stone slabs," Alka said, emphasizing his point to everyone.
Upon hearing this, everyone understood. This valley was very likely where Treasure Vault No. 5 was hidden. Although not guaranteed, if Alka’s words were accurate, there was indeed a strong possibility.
At this moment, Jason seemed to recall something. He rummaged through the documents on the table and, after a while, handed Alka a piece of paper with a drawing.
"Look at this. Is it very similar to this image?"
The drawing depicted a suit of armor. It was very exquisite, obviously not intended for warfare but more like a decorative item. The armor resembled a beetle’s carapace, with a helmet that had protrusions resembling the twin horns of a Golden Horn Hammer. And the pointed tips of the protrusions were painted gold. The implication was very obvious.
"This armor is called Fearless; it was one of Sad’s favorite pieces of armor," Jason said.
"I’ve seen the specimen; it indeed bears many similarities to this armor," Alka said.
There was no need to say more at this point. It was clear to everyone: the Praying Insect Valley very likely hid Treasure Vault No. 5.
Seeing everyone’s slightly excited expressions, Alka couldn’t help but throw a bit of cold water on their enthusiasm.
"However, the Golden Horn Hammer is already extinct, and has been for over twenty years."
This statement made the expressions on their faces freeze.
"However," Alka said. Seeing everyone’s attention immediately shift back to him, he continued, "I know there is another island where this kind of insect still exists."
"AH!" Chadite suddenly reached out, gently pinching Alka’s neck and shaking him. "Can you please just say everything in one go!"
Seeing everyone’s stern gazes, Alka smiled awkwardly.
"What’s the name of that island?" Andre asked, his voice calm.
"The curator has an atlas that says this insect originated on Antefos-Saint Armor Island."
"Holy Armor Island? Holy Armor Island..." Chadite muttered to himself, pulling out a map and began to check it. Finally, he pointed to an area to the upper left, outside the Blood Gold Alliance. "It should be in this area, as far as I remember."
Alka tilted his head to look. The place Chadite pointed to was an area called the Holy Mother Church.
A religious faction? A religious faction occupying such a large territory... could it be they also worship a true god? Alka blinked.
Holy Mother Church
Treasure Count: White - Few, Blue - Few
Area Difficulty: Safe
Area Introduction: None
Frankly, he had no interest in going there. However, the area’s difficulty rating was the easiest he had ever seen.
The Blood Gold Alliance was already considered a relatively safe maritime region, with several naval fleets constantly patrolling its waters. Yet, the difficulty within this Holy Mother Church was even lower.
This meant that as long as one followed the rules and behaved normally, there would hardly be any danger. This faction had extremely tight control over its territory. But such a meager amount of treasure made it difficult for Alka to muster any interest.
Chadite pointed to the spot on the map, looking up at his father. Andre frowned, deep in thought.
Alka turned to look at everyone’s expressions. Is there something different about this place? he wondered.
At this moment, Andre spoke. "Bobby, the two of us will go to the Praying Insect Valley for a look, to check if there’s space underneath."
Bobby nodded, stretched, and got up.
Andre then turned to Alka, saying, "If it turns out there’s space down there, we’ll set off immediately to find the Golden Horn Hammer, and you’ll secure a spot."
Hearing this, a bright smile spread across Alka’s face, and he nodded.
Andre also glanced at Jason. "You get ready too."
With that, he and Bobby went out together.
As soon as Andre left, Jason immediately rushed over, tightly hugging Alka, and shook him with some resentment.
"You just got here and you’ve already solved it! I took over two years! I’m such a failure, such a complete failure!"
"Quick, tell me, what have you got in that head of yours?"
Alka rolled his eyes, breaking free from his embrace. Then, looking at Chadite, he asked, "Is there something different about this place? Why were your expressions a bit strange just now?"
Upon hearing this, Jason looked at him somewhat oddly. "Did Andre not tell you?"
Alka shook his head.
Chadite said directly, "Though we appear to be a private Treasure Hunting Team, our real identity is actually a Treasure Hunting Team under the Holy Mother Church."
So, we have an official faction backing us? Upon hearing this, Alka felt more at ease.
Jason also added, "This time, the two of us might take the opportunity to ’touch’ the Church."
Upon hearing Jason’s words, Alka’s heart skipped a beat. So soon? Yes, if Andre and his team are an official force, it’s no wonder Parker trusted them enough to recommend me. Because they are an official force... So, do they have the channels for *that*? A chill rose in his heart, reminding Alka to remain calm.
