Chapter 50: Chapter 50 Reinforcements
A silver iron fist.
A scarlet claw.
Silver collided with red. The red Energy was visibly suppressed, and with one strike, his claw immediately began to retract.
Clutching his right hand, Nivek retreated a few steps. Most of the exposed skin on his body was covered with scarlet thorns.
It was only then that Alka noticed the clown’s burnt skin and face had recovered considerably; even his previously burned eyelids had healed. Scarlet pupils stared at the uninvited guest who had suddenly attacked.
A cold voice sounded, "Get lost, clown, or do you wish to die here?"
Nivek looked at Chadite in front of him, then at Alka crouched by her feet.
"Ha, so he’s one of yours." Then, his scarlet eyes fixed intently on Alka, he declared, "He must die!"
Alka looked at Nivek. He saw the clown, once covered in burns and in a pitiful state, now starting to recover under the scarlet thorns. Alka opened his mouth and said, "Defeated."
In an instant, Nivek’s eyes visibly widened, filled with a scarlet aura.
Chadite swung a swift kick. Strong Silver Light flared from her leg as it shot out.
Nivek immediately raised his hands to protect himself but was still kicked and sent flying backward.
Seizing the opportunity, Chadite crouched down and, without hesitation, hoisted Alka onto her back. Her feet quickly propelled her forward as she sprinted into the distance, her form like a silver arrow.
Watching the two leave, Nivek’s eyes turned scarlet. Angry grunts and the sound of gnashing teeth continuously escaped his lips. He wanted to chase after them, but a hand firmly pressed on his shoulder, pinning him in place.
Captain Shark Biter, who had approached unnoticed, said, "Why so reckless? Did you forget what I told you?"
Soon after, the Guard Captain arrived with a large group of guards. Many surrounding flowers and plants were still burning, evidence that a fierce battle had just taken place.
The Guard Captain looked at Nivek, who stood in tattered clothes, his skin still slightly red, and asked, "They got away?"
Nivek had calmed down now. His face paint had also disappeared in the flames. He turned his back, showing no intention of responding to or acknowledging the Guard Captain, and brushed past him.
Seeing Nivek ignore him, the Guard Captain turned to stare at the burly, bald man with a shark tattoo. "Control your dog. He seems to have lost control."
「...」
"Alka, can you hold on?" Chadite asked, her voice laced with anxiety as she checked on Alka, who was on her back. The chill emanating from his back told her Alka’s condition wasn’t good.
Alka’s face was slightly pale, his lips bluish. Though exhausted, Alka still nodded. "Don’t worry, I can hold on."
"Hmm, just a little longer. We’re almost there," Chadite said. A faint Silver Light appeared from her back, steadying Alka’s form, and she sped up again.
Blood continuously flowed from the hole in his arm and the five deep claw marks on his chest. Combined with the exhaustion from the long pursuit earlier, Alka was now thoroughly worn out. He was desperately fighting to keep his heavy eyelids from falling.
Shifting his focus, he asked, "That clown chasing me—do you know him?"
Hearing Alka’s voice from behind her, Chadite answered while still running, "He’s one of the Shark Biters, a combatant from their crew—a cruel maniac."
Hearing Chadite’s evaluation, Alka nodded vigorously in agreement. This one’s definitely a psycho.
"How did he find you?"
Hearing Chadite’s question, Alka, despite his exhaustion, was speechless. He replied in a heavy, tired voice, "I wasn’t exposed. It’s just that I angered him..."
Then he slowly began to recount what had happened. Chadite maintained her pace, listening to Alka’s voice. While gathering information, she also assessed Alka’s condition from his tone. Soon, however, she was shocked by his story.
She couldn’t help but exclaim, "Is that even possible?" What Alka described was beyond her comprehension.
Just as she finished speaking, she saw a figure in the distance and shouted loudly, "Dad!"
Andre was running towards them from the distance, accompanied by an attractive woman.
Chadite immediately stopped, then gently squatted and carefully laid Alka on the ground.
By then, Andre had reached them. Seeing Alka’s condition, he quickly turned and shouted, "Vanessa!"
"I see." The woman beside him approached, crouching down to examine Alka. Seeing Alka’s face in the moonlight, she paused for a moment. Raising both hands, a pale green glow emanated from them, transforming into threads that entered the wound on Alka’s chest.
The threads swiftly brushed aside the torn fabric and debris from the wound. The green threads passed through his flesh, rapidly stitching it together. Once an area was stitched, the threads vanished, leaving only faint scars.
In just a few minutes, Alka’s chest wound completely healed. Only five faint scars remained on the skin.
Next, the threads began to work on the bloody hole in Alka’s left hand.
HISS~
The sudden pain made Alka draw in a sharp breath.
"Bear with it, little brother. It might be a bit painful," Vanessa said, winking at Alka.
Looking into her purple eyes, Alka closed his mouth. So it really is her.
Seeing Alka’s reaction, Vanessa smiled. The threads deftly maneuvered to extract the bullet buried deep in his flesh, bringing some debris with it. The threads continued to sew. Due to the nature of the bullet wound, the resulting scar was somewhat grotesque.
"Alright. He’s lost a lot of blood, though, so he needs to rest well."
The pain in Alka’s body receded. Alka, his brow finally relaxing, breathed a sigh of relief and couldn’t help but pant slightly.
At this point, Chadite said, "The one chasing Alka was that lunatic, Nivek."
Hearing this, Andre furrowed his brow. "Then it seems our presence on the island might already be known to the enemy. But Weert wouldn’t give such an order." He then looked down at Alka, who was lying on the ground, and asked, "Today’s opportunity is rare. We must immediately investigate the place you mentioned. Are you coming with us, or heading back to the ship to rest?"
Hearing the question, Alka weakly waved his hand. "In my current state, I’d just be a burden. I’d better head back to the ship."
Andre nodded, then looked at Chadite’s bloodstained and somewhat disheveled appearance. "Chadite, take Alka back to the ship. Sang Kaka will meet you at the shore."
"Got it."
Chadite nodded, squatting to lift Alka back onto her back. She then ran quickly towards the shore. This time, her pace slowed significantly.
Watching Chadite depart, Andre turned towards their target. "We need to move quickly. Who knows when the enemy might come looking."
With that, Andre, Vanessa, and Jason—who had been keeping watch in the distance—ran towards the location Alka had provided.
