Lexie and Scarlett shifted their gaze to the door, waiting for Ren and Liam to enter the private room.

"Ren, Scarlett, how about we sit first? We can chat again at the table." Lexie uttered.

Ren and Scarlett shifted their gaze to Lexie before finally looking at each other again.

"Alright." They answered in unison as they nodded their heads.

After sitting on chairs, they talked again.

"You two seem close. Have you two met before?" Liam did not give a satisfactory answer, so Lexie asked the same question.

Ren and Scarlett did not answer immediately; instead, they exchanged a glance with each other.

Not only had they met before, but they were also a married couple.

"Yes. I want to become a citizen of your city." Scarlett was the Ruler of Nightshire City, so Ren agreed instantly because all the people who were important to him lived in Nightshire City.

Lexie was startled by Ren’s answer.

Previously, he always showed signs that he had no interest in becoming a citizen of Nightshire City.

However, everything changed after he met Scarlett.

He even agreed without thinking twice as if becoming a citizen of Nightshire City was his dream.

Lexie dragged Liam out after eating.

She wanted to give Ren and Scarlett some alone time because they seemed to miss each other a lot.

"Yes." He responded.

Scarlett stopped holding his right hand and turned her body, facing him. "Then, do you still love me?"

"Yes." There was no pause between her question and his answer because he truly loved her from the bottom of his heart.

"Then do you still regard me as your wife?" Scarlett threw another question at him.

"Yes." He answered.

Tears of happiness fell down her soft cheeks. "Ren..."

If the citizens of Nightshire City saw her, they would think she was someone who used magic to change her appearance to become their city mistress because their city mistress was not a weak woman like that.

She was a strong, caring, fair, firm, and cool person.

She was a perfect leader, not like a frail woman in front of Ren.
