Ren was taken aback by her question.

’She is teasing me, huh?’

Based on her personality and the way she smiled at him, he believed she was teasing him.

And his guess was right.

Lexie did tease him!

Ren gave her and her niece amazing artifacts, so it was a good time to tease him.

"Why do I need to confess my love to you? Have you forgotten that you belong to me?" Ren teased her, too. "Lexie, your niece has given you to me. You are mine."

When Lexie was about to say something, she was interrupted by her niece.

"That’s right, auntie Lexie. You belong to big brother." After saying that, Luna looked at Ren. "Big brother, you also belong to auntie Lexie. You two belong to each other."

"Nice words, Luna!" Ren gave Luna a thumbs up.

Lexie did not say anything anymore and only smiled at her niece.

"Auntie Lexie, we got beautiful bracelets from big brother. Big brother is the best, right?" Luna was still happy because she really liked the bracelet.

"Yes." Lexie nodded as she smiled.

Shortly after that, two waiters came with their food and drinks.

Then, the trio enjoyed their meal as they chatted happily.

The blue sky had turned orange, and half of the sun dipped in the ocean.

When most people in Nightshire City returned to their houses, two attractive people enjoyed their time in a big bedroom.

The young man was sitting on the bed with his back leaning against the headboard while the mature lady was lying beside him.

Their clothes were scattered on the floor, and some parts of the bedsheets were wet from their adult activities.

Actually, the duo had no intention of having sex in her bedroom.

After her niece left with her subordinates, they were alone in the living room. One thing led to another, and they ended up having sex in her room.

Of course, they did not regret their decision because, actually, special feelings had blossomed in their hearts.

They just never expressed their feelings directly.

"You want to sell eighty Uncommon rank armor, twelve Common rank armor, forty Uncommon rank weapons, and two hundred potions? Where did you get them, Ren? Did you just rob someone?" Lexie teased Ren.

The corner of his lips twitched upon hearing her questions.

’This lady...’

He suddenly wanted to pinch her cheeks, but he decided against it.

"I got it from abode." Ren began telling his adventures with Liam.

He said they found an abode after an altar teleported them to an unknown place. They explored the abode with other awakeners.

He told her many things, but he did not tell her about the illusion test because he needed to keep her feelings.

"As expected, Aeris is indeed loved by heaven." She believed they could find the abode because heaven guided them.

"I disagree with it." He stated. "Do you know how many times I almost got killed?"

"You almost got killed?" Lexie uttered.

"Yes." He said he almost died in the illusion test.

He also almost lost his life after leaving the abode because the other awakeners ganged up on him and his group.

"Wait! Wait!" Lexie could not handle it because he said something shocking. "Didn’t you say it was five versus sixty-six? You mean you won against that many enemies?"

"Yes," Ren said he killed forty of them.

The rest were killed by Liam and the others.

"You killed forty?" Lexie could not keep her cool anymore because he kept saying shocking things.

"Yes. After an incident, I ended up facing forty people alone." He did not tell her the reason why he fought forty people alone because he did not want to ruin her mood.

"You are lying, right?" she admitted that he was a powerful awakener.

But facing forty awakeners alone and still managing to kill them all was hard for her to believe.

Even though most of them were at Elite rank and 2-star, but there were three Master rank warriors and one 3-star mage.

Facing three Master rank warriors alone was already challenging, yet here, he said he killed them all by himself.

She believed everyone would laugh if they heard his story because something like that should be impossible to achieve.

"Well, it’s up to you whether you want to believe it or not. It’s also not something important, so I won’t force you to believe it." Ren could understand her feelings because he knew his story was hard to believe.

However, she should not have assumed that everyone’s abilities were the same.

What others could not do did not mean he could not do it either.

Everyone had their own strengths and weaknesses, so assuming everyone’s abilities were equal was a big mistake.

Lexie did not say anything and looked at his face intently.

She did not have mind-reading magic, so she tried to read his facial expressions, trying to figure out whether he was lying or not.

’He doesn’t seem to be lying.’

She was a businessman, so she knew the signs or movements that were usually done by people who were lying.

After reading his facial expressions, she assumed that he was telling the truth.

"Monster." An unexpected word came out of her mouth.

"Moster? Beautiful lady, I’m not a monster. I’m human like you." Even though her voice was low, he could still hear it because she was next to him.

"No. You are a monster." She responded, "You faced forty awakeners alone, and they all died by your hands. Something like that can only be achieved by a monster, not a human."

"They are just weaklings. You don’t need to overreact like this." Ren said a shocking thing again.

"Weakling?" Lexie could only sigh after hearing his words.

’They would have yelled at you if they had heard what you said.’

She added in her head.

"So, when can I sell it to you?" he inquired.

"Meet me at Moon Auction House tomorrow morning." She responded.

"Alright." He nodded his head.

The duo then changed the topic of conversation.

When they were talking about Nightshire City, she suddenly remembered that he was not a citizen of Nightshire City.

"Ren, do you want to become a citizen of Nightshire City?" she inquired.

"Become a citizen of Nightshire city? Why? Are you afraid that I will move to another city?" he teased her because it was a perfect time to do that.

"You are overconfident. Hehe." She giggled.

"Then why did you suddenly ask that question?" he inquired.

"Nightshire City is a beautiful city. The citizens are kind, and the city mistress cares about her people." She responded, "I’m sure you won’t regret becoming a citizen of Nightshire City because this city is one of the best cities in the world."

"Wait? City mistress? Not a city lord?" even though he had been in Nightshire City for several days, he still did not know the Ruler of the city.

"Yes. The Ruler of this city is female." Lexie did not tell him the name of the city mistress.

She only told him how she became the city mistress.

She said the previous Ruler was her elder brother.

However, her elder brother and family died several years ago.

At first, she did not want to be the Ruler of Nightshire City, but she changed her mind shortly after that.

The city became chaotic without a Ruler.

External and internal problems emerged one after another.

She did not want the citizens to keep suffering, so she decided to become the Ruler of the city.

"Wow! What an amazing person!" Ren stated.

"Our city mistress is an upright person. She will punish anyone who commits a crime or breaks the rules regardless of who they are or how high their status is." Lexie kept saying good things about their city mistress because she wanted him to become a citizen of Nightshire City.

"I need to think about this carefully because it’s related to my future." He did not want to regret his decision in the future, so he did not agree immediately.

Of course, it would be a different story if he knew the Ruler of Nightshire City was Scarlett because Lexie did not reveal her name earlier.

"I hope I can hear your answer tomorrow morning." She uttered. "Remember. You won’t be able to meet my adorable niece every day if you don’t live in this city."

The corner of his lips twitched upon hearing her words.

’You use your niece, huh? Bad lady!’

Scarlett’s House, Her Bedroom.

Scarlett was standing behind the window.

Even though her eyes were fixed on the moon, her mind was on something else.

Ren!

Since she was separated from him several days ago, he always appeared in her mind.

Her body longed for his touch, and her heart longed for him.

She even could not focus on her work because he kept appearing in her mind.

When she saw a couple walking on the street with happy faces, she remembered doing the same thing with him in the illusion world.

When she saw a man treating his lover gently, she was reminded of Ren’s gentle behavior.

Everything she saw reminded her of him.

He even appeared in her dream.

If she could turn back time, she would not leave him that day because living without him was so painful.

However, she could not do anything about it now.

All she could do was keep looking for him, hoping she would meet him again someday.
