Yang Xinran was standing there in a chiffon dress that outlined her curvaceous figure. The hem of her dress fluttered lightly in the breeze, leaving room for endless imagination. Her beautiful legs, accentuated by her high heels, moved gracefully as she walked. Her exquisitely made-up face was lit up with a smile that felt like a refreshing spring breeze that sent a jolt straight to the heart.

Lu Yi couldn’t help but sigh, "It’s quite a change, isn’t it? Girls do bloom beautifully as they mature. She’s catching up with Lin Xi."

That was true, and Gu Fan didn’t deny it. However, as he watched Yang Xinran walk over with a smile on her face, a small ripple stirred in his heart, wondering if she was coming over to see him.

Gu Fan nodded, "Yes, we’re putting in some extra effort so that the entire school can enjoy a successful event."

"You’ve really been going through a lot. However, I’ve been a bit on edge because things have been too calm lately. You know what I mean," Yang Xinran added as she glanced at Gu Fan intriguingly, leaving him to wonder what her cryptically loaded gaze meant.

Looking into Yang Xinran’s eyes stirred up some feelings in Gu Fan, but he kept his emotions under control, "Perhaps, we’ve been more cautious lately and spent more time either at home or on campus, leaving less opportunity for them to make their move."

Yang Xinran shook her head, "But this isn’t a solution. We can’t stay home or on the campus forever. Eventually, we’ll have to go outside. If they are patient enough, they’ll wait. They’ll wait until we leave campus."

Feeling the negativity in the air, Gu Fan tried to reassure her, "We’re going through a hard time, I get it. All we can do right now is take one step at a time. We still have two years to stay at school, which should give us enough time to figure out a solution."

Yang Xinran nodded and heaved a heavy sigh, "I just hope so. What I worry about is that these people might become emboldened and try to get us within the campus. I know you don’t want Lin Xi to be the twelfth victim, I don’t want to be the twelfth victim either, and certainly, nobody wants Du Jun to be. We’re all counting on you, Gu Fan."

Gu Fan felt the weight of her hope on his shoulders, but also an unusual sense of feeling. He replied, "I always go all out, not just for Lin Xi, but for everyone. And I know I can’t do this alone. I can’t stop it all by myself. What I’m hoping for more is that we all band together."

"Hearing that makes me feel more assured." After saying that, Yang Xinran outstretched her pinky, "Let’s make a pinky promise."

Lu Yi watched her graceful figure leave, his face bearing an expression of disbelief. He added, "Who would have thought, I’d have physical contact with such a beauty."

Hearing this, Gu Fan shook his head and sighed, which sparked Lu Yi’s dissatisfaction, "What do you mean by that? Dude! You have Lin Xi. You’re basically swimming in good fortune all day every day. You couldn’t possibly understand the suffering of single people like us!"

Gu Fan quickly apologized, "Okay, fine, I was wrong."

"That’s more like it!" Lu Yi said as he stole a few more glances at Yang Xinran’s retreating figure. He then furrowed his brow and asked, "Why did this girl, who barely interacts with us and usually keeps her distance, suddenly approach you today?"

Gu Fan said, "She must be sensing a threat and wants to ensure her safety by seeking out an additional ally. That’s probably why she came to us."

Hearing this, Lu Yi sighed, "I heard she’s dating a tall and tough guy, probably for the same reason. I also heard that her boyfriend got into a fight for her in the cafeteria yesterday."

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan quickly followed up with, "Oh? What happened?"

Gu Fan pondered for a bit before saying, "You only heard about it. Don’t overthink this. Maybe Yang Xinran didn’t spur him on. Her boyfriend might have confronted the other guy on his own."

"I hope a beautiful girl like her has a kind heart." After saying this, Lu Yi shrugged and made a face like he didn’t want to interfere anymore. Then he noticed Gu Fan looking dazedly in a particular direction.

Unfazed, Lu Yi remarked, "When you get that daydreamy look on campus, no guessing needed. Lin Xi must be nearby."

"Right." Gu Fan simply answered while staring unwaveringly at Lin Xi as she approached. Honestly, Lin Xi wasn’t dressed up. She was wearing simple jeans and a short-sleeve shirt. However, her beauty and figure complemented her clothes well, making her stand out. Moreover, her makeup was even more refined recently, enhancing her aura. Gu Fan had a feeling that even before graduating, Lin Xi could rival beauties like Su Hui and Leng Le.

Seeing Gu Fan, Lin Xi also smiled. She bounced over with youthful vitality, giving Gu Fan the feeling of being bathed in a spring breeze.

The first thing Lin Xi asked was, "Are you still busy with the campus celebration preparations?"
