Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 295: Hidden Danger

Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Hidden Danger

Walking along the footprints, Gu Fan, Lu Yi, Ning Qi, and Hu Bo proceeded delicately, their presence shielded by the trees, constantly mindful of something terrifying that might suddenly spring out.

"Oh my god, how far has Deng Wenming gone?" Lu Yi was a bit concerned. This was not a good sign, it’s too eerie.

Ning Qi also spoke: "If the rumors are true, even if we find Deng Wenming, we might be in danger too."

Gu Fan nodded: "Indeed, there is a certain danger, which is why we need to figure something out, otherwise, the danger will always be with us."

Naturally, Ning Qi and Hu Bo did not understand Gu Fan’s stubbornness. If they had experienced the disappearance of their companions one by one, helpless to stop it, they would know the feeling of constant fear.

Lu Yi had a question: "Why is Deng Wenming the only one in trouble, while Deng Wenli is fine?"

Gu Fan replied: "If Deng Wenming had his mind controlled and Deng Wenli is fine, either whatever is doing this can only control one person at a time, or Deng Wenli has an injury. Pain can keep him conscious."

"I lean towards the first possibility, so that’s probably why none of us were mind-controlled during the dream," said Ning Qi. Just as she finished, Hu Bo offered a different opinion: "Maybe this mind control ability doesn’t work on sleeping people."

Upon hearing this, Gu Fan thought this possibility couldn’t be ruled out either. Suddenly, he noticed a figure swaying in front of him and immediately shouted: "Get hidden!" At the same time, he turned off the flashlight.

The four of them each hid behind a tree, steadied their breathing, and then acknowledged each other with a glance, cautiously approaching.

The blizzard coupled with the cover of the forest limited their field of vision; all they could see was a figure stumbling forward. It was impossible to ascertain whether it was Deng Wenming, all Gu Fan and the others could do was follow him.

They were getting closer, much closer. The silhouette appeared to be a man, probably Deng Wenming. Gu Fan immediately picked up speed, instructing Ning Qi and Hu Bo to prepare their guns. Who knew what they might encounter?

"Fortune favors the blessed," Lu Yi muttered to himself, his mind drumming with anxiety.

Upon getting closer, they hid behind a tree, observing. It was indeed Deng Wenming, but he was standing motionlessly in one place.

The trees surrounding Deng Wenming were somewhat peculiar. They were leafless, only the branches were visible, stretching out like devil claws, presenting a terrifying sight.

Lu Yi asked, "What should we do? Should we go over there?"

"Let’s wait and observe first." Gu Fan felt nervous; he had no idea what they were up against. Seeing Deng Wenming in this dazed state, he was clueless as to what might have happened to him.

Gu Fan asked another question: "Did any of you hear any weird sounds on the way here?"

Both Lu Yi and Hu Bo shook their heads, but Ning Qi nodded: "I think I heard something, like a woman’s mournful singing. But it didn’t sound like a human voice."

"Come on, don’t say it that way, it’s too creepy." The more Lu Yi listened, the more frightened he became, unable to stop himself from shivering in the stormy weather.

Gu Fan furrowed his brow: "It seems I’m not the only one who heard it. If I guess right, Deng Wenming must have heard this sound too and was led here unexpectedly."

"What do you mean, I heard it too... Does that mean..." Ning Qi became scared, her face changing color. However, Gu Fan made a calming gesture and commented, "We all heard it and we’re all right. That indicates there’s a key detail we’ve overlooked."

They waited for a while, and there was a change. Another figure appeared in the blizzard; dressed in white, somewhat short, and gradually walking towards Deng Wenming. Or rather floating, it’s more appropriate. It gave them the chills.

The combination of the blizzard and the dark environment made it impossible for Gu Fan to clearly see whether the figure was human or some other creature.

"What should we do, save him or not?" Upon hearing Lu Yi’s question, Gu Fan realized the urgency of the situation. They can’t just watch as the figure in white gets closer to Deng Wenming. Thus, Gu Fan yelled: "Everyone together, let’s rescue our comrade!" After speaking, he was the first to dash over.

Gu Fan’s commotion drew the attention of the white figure, which immediately pounced on Deng Wenming, falling in the snow.

"Bastard!" Gu Fan turned on the flashlight to reveal the creature’s true form. Suddenly, an extremely horrific blizzard rose suddenly in the eerie forest, feeling as though all the world’s snowstorms had descended at once, knocking over Gu Fan and the others, throwing them into disarray.

This incredibly violent blizzard came quickly and left just as rapidly. Gu Fan and the others clumsily climbed up from the snow and rushed to find Deng Wenming, but there was no trace left whatsoever.

"Footprints, look for the footprints, maybe he hasn’t gone far." Gu Fan urgently searched everywhere, but to no avail. He understood what that meant.

Ning Qi also scanned the surroundings, no longer harboring much hope. Suddenly, she felt a grip on her feet and something forcefully pulling her down, causing her to plunge into the snow. Scared out of her wits, she shrieked for help.

Gu Fan was not far away and heard the scream. Noticing Ning Qi uncontrollably sinking into the snow, he rushed over and grabbed her, pulling with all his might.

The sinking slowed, giving Lu Yi and Hu Bo time to help. They hurriedly ran over to pull Ning Qi up.

"Oh my god, what the heck is this? It’s so strong." Lu Yi exerted all his strength, and with the combined efforts of the three men, they managed to pull Ning Qi out a little bit.

So scared that she was nearing tears, Ning Qi could still feel something underneath the snow clutching tightly onto her legs. The sensation was both similar and dissimilar to a human hand, and a wave of cold crept up on her. So young and beautiful, she didn’t want anything to happen to her.

"Damn it, curse you, come out!" Gu Fan murmured in his heart while gritting his teeth and pulling more forcefully. With the relentless efforts of the three men, they finally pulled Ning Qi out of the snow.

Ning Qi after having a close brush with death was scared out of her wits. Yet, Gu fan didn’t have time for more and directly took Ning Qi’s hand and broke into a run: "Come on, let’s get out of here quickly!"

Hearing this, Lu Yi and Hu Bo also started running immediately. Dominated by this unknown fear, they were nearly distraught. All they wanted to do was to distance themselves as far as possible from this place, while everyone heard the strange sound intertwined within the blizzard.
