Those Classmates who Suddenly Disappeared
Chapter 228 - Two Women

Chapter 228: Chapter 228 - Two Women

There were no classes today and Gu Fan didn’t feel like going to work either because he was exhausted from the previous night. He wanted to take the day off at home. Coincidentally, Su Hui was also in today, so the two of them headed to the market together, planning to team up and whip up some delicious meals.

They both kept busy all morning. Their teamwork in the kitchen was impeccable, leading to a feast of delicious dishes on the table, all of which filled them with great satisfaction.

However, when it was time to eat, a disagreement started between them. The fight began with Gu Fan claiming that the exquisite taste of a particular dish was due to his expert handling as the main chef.

Su Hui retorted, "What chief chef! Without my precise cutting skills - chopping the ingredients to just the right size so the flavours could seep in thoroughly - there wouldn’t be such flavorful food. The most credit should go to me."

Gu Fan pointed to another dish, "Wasn’t that one cooked by you? It tastes slightly overcooked which shows you lack a little in adjusting the heat."

Su Hui shot back immediately, "The reason is you. Your knife skill is slow, not up to the mark that affected my process. The main responsibility lies with you."

Both of them kept eating and arguing about who’s the better cook. The bickering didn’t lead to any conclusion. Finally, Su Hui suggested, "Why not, after we eat, we go out and have a fight?"

"Sure, I’ve made a lot of progress recently." Gu Fan also provoked, with a ’bring it on’ kind of attitude.

However, after the whole wrestling debacle, Gu Fan ended up losing. Su Hui had him locked down with a ’Cross Lock’, leaving him unable to move.

"How about it, kiddo? Who’s the better cook? Speak up!" Su Hui was pretty smug, it didn’t matter to her which dish was better as long as she defeated Gu Fan in wrestling.

Gu Fan was helpless. Every time their arguments came to a deadlock, Su Hui would use force to suppress him. Gradually it had become a routine for them. Gu Fan could only respond, "Your cooking is better. You are better at everything than me. I give up, my bad."

"That’s more like it." At that very moment, the front door opened - Leng Le had come to see Gu Fan, but ended up walking in on this whole scene. Leng Le saw Gu Fan pinned to the ground with Su Hui holding him in a Cross Lock, her legs wrapping tightly around Gu Fan’s arm in a compromising position.

Seeing Leng Le, Su Hui quickly released Gu Fan, and both of them scrambled up from the floor.

While dusting off herself, Su Hui scolded, "Idiot, why didn’t you lock the door?"

"I thought you locked it?" Gu Fan was too embarrassed; he could only give a forced laugh towards Leng Le.

"What were you guys..." Leng Le looked confused, but Su Hui quickly explained, "Don’t misunderstand, this kid’s values and mine don’t align, we often argue over this and that. I have a bit of a violent streak, and this kid is asking for a thrashing, so I often hit him one-sidedly. I admit I was wrong; I shouldn’t bully your boyfriend."

"Uh..." Gu Fan looked utterly puzzled and immediately protested, "What do you mean hit one-sidedly? I fought back too."

Su Hui rolled her eyes, "If you dare to fight back, I won’t show mercy. I wonder how many times I would have broken your hand."

"I...You..." Gu Fan was so annoyed he was at a loss for words because it was actually true.

Leng Le then asked, "So what exactly were you fighting over?"

Su Hui immediately answered, "We made lunch together, and we both believe our cooking skills are better, and since we couldn’t agree, we had to settle it by force."

Gu Fan also chimed in, "Leng Le, it was just in time for you to arrive. You run a restaurant. I need an unbiased person to help us adjudicate whose cooking skills are better."

"So both of you cooked together... and ate together." Leng Le squinted her eyes, a cold glint in them, immediately Gu Fan had a bad feeling about this and broke out into a cold sweat.

Su Hui also sensed that she had caused trouble and quickly excused herself, "Sorry, I am feeling drowsy after eating so much. I have a habit of feeling sleepy after a meal, I am going for a nap now. You guys carry on talking." After saying this, Su Hui quickly ran off, leaving Gu Fan behind with a sympathetic and helpless look.

"No way..." Gu Fan was left with a headache as he saw Su Hui deserting him. He was then left alone to face Leng Le, who didn’t look pleased. Then Leng Le asked him: "Do you guys always cook and eat together, you seem to work together pretty well?"

Gu Fan quickly made his case, "No, this was rare. Or else we wouldn’t fight over whose cooking is better."

Leng Le wore an expression indicating she had no interest in believing, and then she sullenly sat down on the couch, starting to sulk.

Gu Fan immediately went over to hug Leng Le, hoping to comfort her, but he was pushed away by Leng Le.

Leng Le looked at Gu Fan with a serious expression, and said with a stern tone, "Gu Fan, listen to me. You are my boyfriend, I don’t want you to get too close to other women. Do you understand what I mean?"

Gu Fan scratched his head, "Sister Su and I are just friends, we’re not that close."

"You two had physical contact, doesn’t that count as close? I happened to see it this time, but I don’t know how much physical contact you two used to have when you fought." Leng Le said this with obvious anger that was almost a shout.

Gu Fan quickly explained, "Actually, this kind of physical contact rarely happens. I know I can’t beat Sister Su, and I generally don’t provoke her."

Leng Le gave a snort, "I am not always by your side, how would I know what happened between you and Su Hui? You can say whatever you want."

This... Gu Fan found difficult to put into words. He knew that Leng Le was jealous, but her jealousy was a bit intense.

"Listen carefully, Gu Fan. I am your girlfriend. If I invite a handsome and sunny man to live in my house and occasionally play around with him, what would you think?" Leng Le looked seriously into Gu Fan’s eyes, waiting for his answer.

Gu Fan knew that this was a deadly reply, the correct answer, of course, was that he didn’t want Leng Le to do this, but if he answered this way, then Leng Le would go after Su Hui.

Gu Fan originally wanted to say that the situation was different. After they got together, it was indeed inappropriate for Leng Le to find a male tenant at home, but Su Hui had moved in a long time ago.

Although this answer made some sense, Gu Fan knew it was a dead end. He should never reason with a woman when she’s upset.

"What to do, it is not good to answer, it is not good not to answer." Gu Fan thought hard for a while, he was very anxious in his heart, he didn’t know how long he would have to coax if he didn’t handle this matter well. Finally, he had an idea,"Actually Sister Su has a boyfriend. He often comes to see Sister Su and thinks it’s not appropriate for Sister Su to live here. I also feel it’s not appropriate to let Sister Su stay here after having a girlfriend. Similarly, Sister Su thinks so. Sister Su thought about moving out, but where to move to is a problem. If she moves to her boyfriend’s place, something might happen, and Sister Su doesn’t want it to happen so soon. However, if she doesn’t move to her boyfriend’s place, it seems like she is guarded against her boyfriend, which will affect their relationship. So whether to move or not requires a lot of consideration. To put it correctly, Sister Su will move out, but it will take some time."

Leng Le put on a pondering look, in fact, she was inwardly cursing him, ’You can really talk bullshit! Thinking with this logical speech you can fob me off, no way! If I can’t handle you, I wouldn’t be your girlfriend.’

Of course, on the surface, Leng Le still responded with a pleasant look, "Gu Fan, you know, I am a mature woman, I don’t just want to mess with you. Before, I thought that if we were just starting to be together, it would be hard to justify if I forced you to get rid of Su Hui. But now we’ve been together for so long and you still let a woman live under the same roof with you, is that easier for you? At first, I thought that as time passed, you would realize this problem, but it seems you didn’t. Therefore, I hereby declare, since everyone agrees that Su Hui should move out, then I’ll give you a month to find a way to get Su Hui to move out, regardless of how. As for other issues, those are between Su Hui and her boyfriend, you don’t need to worry about it."

"Alright, as you wish." With the conversation having reached this point, Gu Fan didn’t want any more quarrels and simply agreed.

"I hope you stick to your word, I will visit every week. If you feel uncomfortable talking to Su Hui, I’ll bring it up, I’ll be the bad guy." After saying this, Leng Le picked up her bag, turned around and left, muttering to herself, "Gu Fan, Gu Fan, this is for your own good. It seems that the only way you won’t get wrapped up in this is if you stay away from Su Hui. Only if you don’t get involved, can we continue. Don’t force me to give up this relationship."

Watching Leng Le leave, Gu Fan sighed. He felt distressed and troubled. He really didn’t know what to say to Su Hui. He didn’t want to lose this friendship, this brotherhood because of this.

Just when Gu Fan was scratching his head, he heard a faint voice behind him, "Seeing you in such a pitiful state, I really can’t stand it. So you don’t have to feel troubled, I will move out."

"Ah..." Gu Fan immediately turned around to see Su Hui standing on the stairs, her arms crossed, leaning against the wall with a hint of a smile on her lips.

Gu Fan gave a dry laugh, "Sister Su, did you hear everything just now?"

Su Hui nodded before, indicating that she heard everything. Actually, it was deliberate on Leng Le’s part. She raised her voice several degrees so that Su Hui who was upstairs could hear, so that Su Hui would know that the future mistress of this room did not welcome her and hoped Su Hui would take the hint and move out on her own.

"Actually, the first time I met Leng Le, she looked at me with a bit of hostility. I knew I couldn’t stay here for long, so I don’t mind." Su Hui appeared very relieved, as if moving out wasn’t a big deal.

This made Gu Fan feel a sense of guilt of prioritizing love over friendship, but he didn’t have the courage to speak up and retain her. He could only give a bitter smile, grateful for Su Hui’s understanding.

"There’s still a month left, I have enough time to find a house, or you can help me find one. Furthermore, your girlfriend’s jealousy shows that she really cares about you." Su Hui finished and smiled, it seemed that she didn’t mind it, which made Gu Fan also smile, but neither of their hearts had lightened up.
