Chapter 756: Chapter 385 Third-party Power_2
"Yes." Cold Night and Angelia nodded in agreement.
If it were before, they wouldn’t care about such a trivial matter. They held absolute advantage in Dark City, regardless of who their competitor was, they didn’t care.
Who would have thought, it turned out to be the Ghost Captain...
When they first heard the news that the Ghost Captain was vying for the City of Eternal Night, they instinctively frowned, a sense of foreboding unanimous among them.
It couldn’t be helped. He was too mysterious. To this day, no one has figured out the extent of his true power.
And sure enough, their premonitions proved correct. Just as the Ghost Captain made his appearance, he so effortlessly stole a Shard and as a bonus, even defeated their entire army!
"The Ghost Captain... why did it have to be him?" At the end of the round table, a slightly naive-looking teenager covered his head in distress.
"What, Little Five, you scared?" Cold Night scoffed at him from across the table.
"Not exactly scared, it’s just... I have a feeling of déjà vu, like a duck ready for dinner suddenly decides to fly..." The teenager continued to scratch his head in troubled contemplation.
"Cursed tongue!" Cold Night laughingly rebuked, "What’s there to fear? Even the mightiest dragon can’t suppress the local snake. No matter how strong he is, he’s still just one person. Can he be compared with the foundation we’ve established here over the past two years?"
Sitting at the other end of the table was a blond Caucasian man wearing sunglasses, the only pure European at the scene. Contrasting the fierce and ruthless demeanor of the other four, the young man was handsome and quite refined.
The man with sunglasses, a lady’s cigarette burning in his hands, looked at Cold Night, "Did you just say the Ghost Captain appeared with a team of Forest Elves?"
"Yes." Cold Night, taken aback, nodded in agreement.
"Could it be... he has teamed up with the elves..." The blonde man murmured to himself.
On hearing this, the others wrinkled their brows. Considering the current circumstances, it was clear the enemy had allied with the Vampire Clan. If they were also getting help from the Elf Clan...
They didn’t dare to think any further.
"That’s not something we need to worry about."
The Tyrant spoke up, "The elves rely on their ’neutral’ profile to survive. It isn’t possible for them to get directly involved in the power struggles within the Fools. This time it just so happens that we fell into the enemy’s trap. We made the first move, and we have to admit our defeat."
"As long as they stay in Dark City, they must obey the rules here. If they dare to take direct action, they will find themselves in the defensive," the Tyrant mused, "We still have five shards in our possession. As expected, the remaining four shards should be with the enemy. We have collected four shards from the ’12365’ route, only missing the number ’five’, while the enemy’s route only contains the ’945’, so we still hold the advantage. All we have to do is to guard these carefully and prevent the enemy from stealing any shard to maintain our lead."
"The real issue now is that we know far too little about the Ghost Captain, which makes it impossible for us to anticipate his next move." The Tyrant concluded in the end.
Everyone fell silent at his words.
Suddenly, the teenager seemed to remember something, turning to the man with sunglasses, "Hey? Second Brother, aren’t you and Son of Heaven old classmates? Son of Heaven once had a face-off with the Ghost Captain. If we ask him, wouldn’t we get some information about the Ghost Captain?"
The others shifted their gaze towards the guy wearing sunglasses on hearing this.
The man with the sunglasses took a puff of his cigarette, hesitating for a moment, then nodded, "I’ll give it a try."
With that, he took out his phone, his fingers flying across the screen, sending a line of emoticons bombarding Son of Heaven.
Son of Heaven’s reply was quite succinct, just a single question mark, ’?’.
"Need some advice."
"What?"
"About the Ghost Captain..."
"???" Son of Heaven, engrossed in files, finally looked up. After a brief thought, he seemed to guess something: "Could it be..."
"Yes, exactly what you’re thinking. We ran into him..."
"..."
Son of Heaven seemed to be at a loss for words. An ellipsis, and a few seconds later, he sent back a line of laughing emoticons.
"What’s that about?" The man with the sunglasses frowned.
"Don’t get me wrong, I wanted to bid you my condolences, but my hand slipped." After saying this, Son of Heaven added a mourning emoticon.
"Is this person really that formidable?" The man with the sunglasses looked a bit surprised. He knew Son of Heaven very well, so he understood that those laughing emojis weren’t a joke, but likely due to his fingers slipping in surprise.
Just mentioning the name was enough to shake Son of Heaven... The man with the sunglasses could hazard a guess at the outcome of this conversation.
"All I can say is, he’s far stronger than you’re imagining!" Son of Heaven replied.
"Alright then... let’s have some of his information. I’m buying." The man with the glasses said next.
"No way. I don’t want to get involved in this, and reciprocally, I won’t provide any information from your side either. You two fight it out, and I’ll remain neutral." Son of Heaven stated.
"Coward!" The man in sunglasses replied with a firm middle finger emoji.
"Then, considering our years of friendship, you can at least give some advice, right?"
"That I can do."
"So, what’s the advice?"
"Give up while you can." Son of Heaven suggested.
"Damn, are you saying we’re bound to lose?" The man with sunglasses frowned. Son of Heaven should know about their advantage in Dark City. Yet, he still gave such a definitive answer...
