Chapter 747: Chapter 382 Vampire Clan Meeting_2
"Meow..."
Cola immediately lets out a pitiful sound begging for comfort.
Little Ya can’t help but look at Mu You for guidance.
Mu You sighs, "It’s a long story. First, let’s give him a bath."
"Oh..."
Little Ya quickly picks up Cola and puts him in the bath, grabbing tools and skillfully starting to clean him.
While bathing, the two of them listen to Cola’s intermittent description of his experiences during this period.
Turns out that after he was sent back to the academy, his master Fuya quickly took him back to her hometown, where, in the ancestral house, he underwent a ’Plane Reset’ ritual to help him rid himself of the door’s influence.
However, before the ritual could begin, they needed first to eliminate the unfamiliar world’s substances from his body and return him to his original magic power status.
So, the first thing he had to do was lose weight.
In addition, because Cola had consumed too many substances from the Earth side, removing them all would take a long time. Considering time was the last thing they had, given that Cola’s lifespan was halving each day, his master had to take some drastic measures. She used a secret method to replace the substances and blood in his body. In just about a day, they had made him a ’dried cat’, but this finally met the requirements for the ritual.
The Conversion Ceremony went smoothly in the end, but Cola was drained half to death. Especially afterwards, to prevent a rebound effect, his master strictly controlled his diet and daily routine. Everyday was a clear soup and rice regime. What’s more, he was unaccustomed to not having internet access.
Cola soon could bear it no more. The symptoms of cat food and internet withdrawal attacked him simultaneously, making him feel hopeless and that life was worse than death.
One day, Cola could not resist the temptation and tried to steal a bit of cat food left by Mu You. But his master found out and destroyed the food immediately. This completely plunged Cola into despair. In grief and anger, he chose to run away from home. However, he didn’t go far and simply hid and played near the ancestral house.
Later, while chasing butterflies, he discovered a dried-up well in the backyard of the ancestral house. The well seemed familiar, so he jumped down to take a look. Unexpectedly, when he climbed out, he found the surroundings had changed dramatically. He was back in the Forgotten Land!
From then on, he started wandering on Earth.
The address of the pet store was unknown to Cola. He was afraid of being captured and sold by bad people if they noticed anything unusual about him. Thus, he refrained from interacting with strangers and just wandered the streets, hoping to bump into a familiar face. Of course, it wasn’t that easy. After starving for two days, he found his way to a conservation base in the suburbs and settled down there, living each day through mooching.
"Poor Cola!"
After hearing the story, Little Ya couldn’t help but feel her heart soften.
Mu You, on the other hand, was thoughtfully considering something that had just been said.
"You mean, the dried-up well in the backyard of your master’s old house is directly connected to a dried-up well in City K?" Mu You turns to Cola to ask.
According to Cola, when he went down and came back up from the well, his surroundings had changed from the Star Spirit World to Earth, a situation that could only be the effect of a Space Fissure.
"Yes, meow! And when I crossed over, I remembered that the last time I was brought home by my master, I was playing outside and got swept into that well by a gust of wind and ended up here!" Cola nodded quickly.
"Didn’t you try to go back into the well?" Mu You asks. If that well truly contains a Space Fissure, theoretically he should be able to go back and forth freely through it.
"Of course I tried, meow. I tried many times, but no matter how I jumped into the well, I couldn’t return to the Star Spirit World," Cola replied.
"Oh?" Mu You furrowed his brow upon hearing this. Could it not be a Space Fissure?
There’s no use in speculating here. Mu You decides to go check out the site personally.
After Little Ya cleaned up Cola, Mu You took him outside, with Vivian tagging along.
Guided by Cola, they searched for a long time until Mu You finally found the so-called ’dried-up well’ in a desolate and forested hill in the northern part of City K.
The well was on a hillside, surrounded by weeds. The well’s mouth was completely covered by weeds, and if it weren’t for Cola’s guidance, Mu You wouldn’t have found it even if he passed by.
Mu You lifted up the weeds to reveal a square well opening. The interior formed with irregular rocks. The depth was about ten meters, and the wooden barrier around the well had already decayed. He picked up a handful of fragments.
Mu You collected some of these fragments and wrapped them in paper, planning on researching them later.
Then, he took out the Magic Wand, conjured the Illumination Technique, jumped into the well, and slid down the well wall to the bottom.
Just as Cola had mentioned, nothing was unusual at the bottom of the well.
"Use your Heart’s Eye to take a look," Vivian suggested at that moment.
Mu You promptly closed his eyes and activated his Heart’s Eye.
Through the perspective of his Heart’s Eye, the surroundings appeared different.
Below the bottom of the well he was standing on was indeed a faintly blue Space Fissure, very similar to the one he had seen in Japan. However, for him, or, more precisely, for Earth, it was just an illusory projection which he could not touch at all.
"What’s this?" asked Mu You, puzzled.
"This is a ’Permanent Space Rift’ that has been artificially stabilized," answered Vivian.
"Permanent?" Mu You looked taken aback, "So, it won’t close, and one can freely travel between the two sides anytime?"
