Chapter 682: Chapter 360: Walking into the Trap_1
"Uchimura, please accompany our VIP guests to the rest area first,"
Makizawa Sota told one of his subordinates, then with an apologetic look, he bowed to the members of the Exchange Group, and quickly left the airport.
The middle-aged man he had just pointed to promptly took his place and made a welcoming gesture.
"Ladies and gentlemen, please follow me."
He took the lead.
The director also nodded to the group, and they followed along.
The man leading the way was named Uchimura Taku, a deputy president of the Japan Defense Society. He was in his forties, bald, and spoke decent Chinese.
Vice President Uchimura seemed quite adept at hosting foreign guests. Despite the recent tense atmosphere, he now refrained from discussing work, chatted happily about local Japanese customs and traditions while leading the way.
Everyone followed in silence, some occasionally responding to his stories.
"Ring, ring..."
A sudden ringing of phones and vibration noises interrupted Uchimura’s introduction.
All members of the Exchange Group stopped, pulled out their mobile phones, pressed a few buttons, and looked at the message they had just received.
"What happened?"
Uchimura and the other Japanese also stopped instinctively, looking somewhat puzzled.
"Oh, nothing. We just received a push notification from the home front."
The director quickly scanned his phone, shrugged, and put it away.
Everyone else also quickly put away their phones, as if they had merely skimmed a news article.
"Vice President Uchimura, please continue leading the way," the director said.
"Alright, please follow me."
Uchimura didn’t quite register the interruption, he shrugged with a little laugh and continued leading the way.
They left the airport, climbed onto the vehicle arranged by the Defense Society, and were taken to the reception room. Drinks and reception personnel had already been arranged in the hall.
"Please make yourselves comfortable. Our president will be back shortly."
Uchimura smiled as he guided the group to their seats, then turned to the director to ask, "Uh, Director Wang, would you prefer to start our work when President Hayata returns, or get started immediately?"
"Time is precious, let’s start right away," the director said.
"Alright, which area do you intend to search first, and I will arrange it immediately," Uchimura maintained his smiling demeanor.
Upon hearing this, the director glanced up at him and said with a smile, "Why not...start with you?"
"Hmm?"
Uchimura was stunned, as were the other Japanese present. It took them a moment to comprehend the meaning of his words.
"Boom!"
However, just as everyone else was in shock, the Blood Emperor, who was not far from Uchimura, suddenly charged forward. He appeared in front of Uchimura in a flash, throwing a punch that sent Uchimura sprawling to the ground.
The intense sound of the punch echoed through the place, leaving a gaping crater in the marble floor. The surrounding tables, chairs, cups, and dishes were sent flying by the shockwave. The scene instantly turned into a chaotic mess.
"Ah..."
The other Japanese at the scene were shocked. They didn’t expect their guests from the Celestial Dynasty to suddenly throw a punch without any warning. Could it be that their visit was not for discussions, but a pretext to attack them?
Many of them instinctively reached for their weapons.
"Nobody move!"
However, before they could react, several members of the Exchange Group charged forward. They brandished their Magic Wand weapons, blocking the paths of the Japanese men and stopping their movements.
This quick reaction exposed the stark difference in combat experience between the elite players of the Celestial Dynasty and Japan. Even though they were of similar levels, their combat abilities were worlds apart.
The Exchange Group reacted swiftly and clearly. Even without any specific instructions, they worked seamlessly together. In contrast, the Defense Society was slow to react and everyone was fending for themselves. As a result, they were disarmed before they could even draw their weapons.
If this were a real battle, the victor would have been decided already at this point.
Fortunately, it seemed that the Exchange Group had no intention of starting a war. After stopping the others from taking action, they ceased their movements as well.
"We’re catching an infiltrator, have some sense!"
Director Wang said, glancing at the Japanese.
By this time, the Japanese at the scene had realized that something was wrong. They had witnessed the raw power of the Blood Emperor’s punch. As a high-grade player, even they admitted they wouldn’t be able to withstand it. The weaker Uchimura stood even less of a chance.
However, Uchimura, who had taken a direct hit from the Blood Emperor, was not dead. Apart from vomiting some blood from the corner of his mouth - a clear indicator of his injuries - he appeared to be mostly alright.
They noticed a thin veil of black mist enveloping Uchimura, who lay on the ground. It was this mist that had saved him from being killed by the Blood Emperor’s punch.
"Why..."
Under the pressure of the Blood Emperor’s fist, Uchimura looked up at him incredulously, struggling to understand what had led to his exposure.
"You’ve got a lot of nerve!"
The Blood Emperor looked coldly at Uchimura. "You knew we came for an accounting and yet you dared to show up in front of us!"
Hearing his words, Uchimura’s eyes widened. The black mist around him thickened, forcing the Blood Emperor back. He jumped up from the ground and made a dash for the window without a second thought.
