"Couldn’t find her." Lin Xue shook her head.

"Well then, you should take her back first. I’ll handle things here."

With his head lifted, he looked at the distance. Sirens were closing in from all directions; the police and agents from the Bureau of Supernatural Investigation would be soon arriving at the scene.

"Alright, be careful."

Lin Xue nodded. Holding the little girl’s hand, they retreated and were soon swallowed up by the night.

After Lin Xue left, Mu You did not leave the scene but changed out of his skin suit. He sat down beside a large stone next to the corpse of the muscle-bound man.

A short while later, a cacophony of footsteps rang out from afar, followed by beams of light from several flashlights shining towards him.

"Mu You?"

A familiar voice echoed from the distance.

"Hold your fire, he’s one of ours!"

Accompanying this shout, a group of armed police officers ran over from the distance, with Zhang Yang at the forefront.

"Over here." Mu You waved.

"Mu You, what happened here? Where’s the Shadow Ghost?" Zhang Yang looked around, puzzled. The whole place was in shambles, with trees knocked down, the earth cracked and pockmarked with craters all over. The signs of battle were clear. It seemed that a brutal battle had just concluded here.

"You guys are a step late, the fight’s already over." said Mu You.

"You dealt with it?"

Zhang Yang looked shocked at him, then at the corpse not far off. The message he had received earlier stated that a Shadow Ghost had appeared downtown in K City, and had devastated a whole city block in an instant.

Luckily something or someone formidable appeared on the scene and was able to draw the Shadow Ghost away, leading it out of the city.

Upon receiving the alert, they had promptly rushed to the scene, but they were a step late. Yet, what they didn’t expect was that the first person they saw at the scene was Mu You.

Instinctively, Zhang Yang thought that Mu You had both lured and dealt with the Shadow Ghost.

"It’s not within my capabilities." Mu You shook his head, smiling.

"Then who did?"

"The Ghost Captain and the Red Sickle Girl."

This statement was said with a hint of half-truth. In any case, all he had to do was push everything onto another identity.

"Ah... "

Zhang Yang had not expected these two mysterious figures to be involved too.
