"Old man" cleary referred to the strange baby that had just crawled out of Red Sleeve’s stomach, while "Time Guardians" were likely those two floating creatures.

So they were in a hunter-prey relationship, it’s no wonder they appeared consecutively.

"Time Guardians are creatures tasked with maintaining the order of time. Anyone who stops time without permission will become their prey.
