Chapter 506: Chapter 297: Sea Vortex_1

Within the Evil Spirit Sea Area, a once-in-a-hundreds-of-years tsunami was wreaking havoc.

Yet, the ones initially affected were not those responsible for the turmoil, like Mu You and his group, but rather the people near Turtle Island.

"This is bad!"

At the port of Turtle Island, Smile and others felt their scalps tingle at sighting the giant creature overhead.

The current reckless behavior of the Octopus King made their souls shudder with fear.

With a hundred-meters-high tsunami heading towards them, they would surely be the first casualties as their ship was one of the closest to the wave.

"What an opportunity!"

While others trembled in fear, the Son of Heaven’s eyes brightened.

"Stabilize the ship! We can make use of this wave to quickly close the distance!"

"Are you serious?" Smile and the others around him were incredulous.

In theory, harnessing the propulsion of a tsunami could indeed accelerate the ship. But in front of such an enormous tsunami, surely the primary consideration for anyone would be to preserve their life...

"Of course! Prepare the Shield Curse and the Repair Curse..." The Son of Heaven replied with an unshakeable resolve. Nothing is impossible in the Magic World.

The others had no time to debate. The impending tidal wave was already arriving overhead. They hurriedly performed their spells, launching all their defensive maneuvers.

In the next instant, their ship was swept up by the massive wave. The constant creaking and breaking sounds from the ship’s hull pervaded their ears. If it were not for the cast Repair Curses operating concurrently, the ship might have been disintegrated multiple times over already.

Thanks to the team’s concerted efforts, they discovered in surprise that their ship remained intact and miraculously managed to balance amidst the tremendous wave.

The tsunami spread rapidly, almost completely engulfing the islands in its path and sweeping up countless creatures in its wake.

The first massive wave quickly reached Blai Island.

The Ghost Ship and the ships of the Dragon Knight Pirate Group barely managed to put distance between them and the wave before the first surge arrived.

Mu You preemptively casted the Ice Wall Technique just as the wave crashed towards them.

A large ice wall manifested mid-air, splitting the wave to protect the Ghost Ship beneath.

Meanwhile, the Dragon Knight Pirate Group relied on the Black Dragon to evade catastrophe. The corrosive dragon flame, sprayed on the wave, burned a hole through it, dissipating most of the wave’s force.

However, this strategy wasn’t foolproof. After surviving the first two waves, the subsequent waves became higher and fiercer. The ice wall struggled to protect all angles. The Ghost Ship was dealt a direct hit by the water streaming in from the side, sinking into the sea.

The Dragon Knight Fleet fared no better. The towering waves exceeded the Black Dragon’s flight height resulting in both the ship and the dragon being submerged deep into the sea, constantly colliding and rolling under the immense pressure.

Thereafter, they had to rely on the ships’ endurance.

Fortunately, both their ships were truly extraordinary. The Dragon Knight Pirate Group’s ship was covered with dragon scales, providing significant absorption of the impact, while the Ghost Ship was built from the Tree of Life, possessing a potent self-healing power. With Mu You and Lin Xue maintaining the Black Magic variation of the Repair Curse, it proved difficult for damage to ensue from the tsunami’s relentless pulverization.

Eventually, both factions managed to survive based on the strength of their ship’s build. If they were so devastated, as can be imagined, even worse was the fate of the others. The entire Evil Spirit Sea Area was currently in a state of pitiful wailing.

The Octopus King’s actions had certainly given every sea creature a tough time, but on the bright side, the colossal tsunami had significantly abridged their anticipated travel time to Skeleton Island.

Carried by the wave, what initially would have been a two to three-hour journey was now completed within half an hour.

At this point, the seastorm finally calmed down.

The tsunami triggered by the Octopus King had temporarily ended. However, Mu You was far from relaxed. Behind them, the familiar screeching sound of the Octopus King was still echoing, and the distance seemed to be closing in.

Clearly, the Octopus King’s rage had not calmed down after causing the tsunami; it seemed to be giving chase actively.

To make matters worse, a line of ships, at least twenty in number, cut across the sea and blocked their way just as they approached Skeleton Island.

Without a doubt, these were the Son of Heaven’s men.

On their way over, they hadn’t encountered any other enemies, Mu You had already suspected that the enemy was probably gathering their forces for a large blockade in front of Skeleton Island.

It seems he was right. Over twenty ships, even with an average of forty men per ship it amounted to more than eight hundred men - essentially all of the western northwest forces of the Evil Spirit Sea Area under the rule of the Son of Heaven.

"That looks more like it!"

Finn, standing on a pirate ship nearby, didn’t show any fear of the forces awaiting them ahead. Instead, he seemed a bit excited.

The enemy had twice as many ships and men, but on the ocean, numbers only accounted for a small part of a battle. Furthermore, they didn’t necessarily have to fight to the death; their job was merely to cover the Ghost Ship as it crossed through.

"Your target is right ahead, isn’t it? We’ll provide cover; you just focus on breaking through!" Finn directed at Mu You.

"Then I’ll leave it in your hands." Mu You responded without any reservations. They’d gone through all this trouble to get their help, hadn’t it all been for situations like this?
