Chapter 500: Chapter 295: The Never-lost Compass_1

"Smile, hand your fragment over to Carlo, and he’ll transport the two pieces to Earth and pass them on to others. Let him stay offline until he receives further instructions."

The Son of Heaven instantly announced his plan for the fragments.

The content of the map fragments had already been recorded. Now that the entrance to Sky City was open, the fragments themselves had become unnecessary. If anything, their only remaining use was to hold them up to prevent competitive suppression.

If they weren’t worried about the fragments having some other function once inside the city, it would be safest to destroy them on the spot, removing any risk of them falling into the wrong hands.

"Understood!" responded Carlo, who had been called upon.

He was the certified caretaker of the fragments, operating the game in reality while his Game Character was here.

"Now, we retreat the way we came!"

After personally witnessing the transfer of the two pieces, the Son of Heaven prepared to lead everyone to break through.

At this point, the fourth floor of the Underwater Prison was chaos, with the Octopus King yet to appear, only countless Octopus Soldiers continued to battle fiercely everywhere.

It was clear that some issues must have arisen with the Octopus King himself, who was unable to emerge soon. It was no wonder that he would even act out in the Underwater Prison.

The Son of Heaven led the group to break through immediately.

Considering the number of Octopus Soldiers, their combat power was just average.

Yet, everyone who had followed the Son of Heaven inside was the cream of the crop among humans. Even with just ten men, they were enough to deal with these octopuses.

Ten men working seamlessly, casting spells together, and connecting their attacks methodically, quickly cut through the swarm of octopuses, making a bloody path straight towards the central elevator of the prison.

However, as the Son of Heaven and his men continued to advance steadily, several shadowy figures suddenly sprang up from the rear, attacking unprovoked. In an instant, they had joined forces with the Octopus Soldiers at the front to surround the Son of Heaven’s men in the middle.

The people with the Son of Heaven reacted swiftly. After some initial chaos, they set up their Defense Magic, barely fending off the attack from behind.

Nevertheless, that was it; the attack from the rear was speedy and strong, not only were their skills not inferior, the attackers even managed to hinder their retreat rate significantly. The Octopus Soldiers continued to amass at the front, making the situation immensely precarious.

"Jack, are you out of your mind?" Smile stared incredulously at one of the attackers.

The group that had just launched the surprise attack from behind was Jack’s!

Currently, both sides were in similar situations. The entrance to Dawn City was already open, while the humans were being pursued by Octopus Soldiers in full force; everyone’s goal should be to escape the prison as fast as possible.

So Smile and others were absolutely taken aback when Jack and his party assaulted them!

With the Octopus Soldiers constantly regrouping, and the Octopus King’s uncertain arrival, time was of the essence. If the two teams started fighting now, it would be no different than mutual destruction.

"Hehe, I didn’t want to fight either, but it doesn’t matter; I can’t let you lot keep going on about ruining everything..." Jack sneered, his onslaught didn’t ease in the least.

"What do you want?" Son of Heaven addressed Jack.

"Simple, give up the ninth fragment, and I’ll let you all leave." Jack said.

"Ha! You’re letting us go? It’s as if you’re so strong." The demon found this most displeasing.

"We certainly can’t beat you out there, but here... hehe, we can at least drag you down with us..." Jack sneered.

"You... aren’t afraid of death?"

"Of course I’m scared, but who lets us be pirates? Pirate’s code is ’an appeal to fortune,’ and my experience tells me blocking you would be profitable!" Jack laughed.

"He’s nuts..." The demon could only give the same evaluation as Smile.

"Jack, I admire your courage, but it’s a pity. The ninth fragment has been robbed by the Ghost Captain, and it’s worthless to stop us now." The Son of Heaven spoke at this moment.

"Ha, you think I’m naive?" Jack was full of disbelief. Though he knew the Ghost Captain seemed to have fought with the Son of Heaven’s side a while ago and quickly retreated, the chances of him robbing a fragment and it just happening to be the ninth one within such a short span was very low.

"Damn it, the fragment was indeed robbed as it was mine. You can fuck off if you don’t believe it!" Even the demon was pressed to the limit, revealing the fact he got robbed without hesitation.

"It is indeed true. Besides, think about it. If the Ghost Captain hadn’t stolen the gateway fragment, why would he just leave? Wouldn’t it be better to stay and keep sniping us?" the Son of Heaven chimed in to explain as well.

This caused Jack to waver slightly. Could the ninth piece have really been stolen?

But if that were true, it would mean that Jack would have the Ghost Captain as his direct competitor next, which wasn’t good news at all...

"Even if the ninth fragment was stolen, you definitely have a backup of the ninth map!" Jack hesitated but showed no signs of backing off, "Give me the backup map, and I’ll leave straight away. Otherwise..."

"If we gave you the backup, would you dare to take it?" the demon sneered. Only the original map fragment could be fully verified. The cost of duplicating the map was too low.
