Chapter 433: Chapter 272: Premium Card Position_1

Lucky, after accepting the main quest, an additional side quest was granted. It was to find a cat for a city resident on the way. If found, it would be an extra 50 reputation points and there would be no loss if not found.

Surely this kind of quest was a no-brainer to accept.

[You have accepted the temporary quest: Find the lost cat.]

[You have left Phoenix City and are heading towards Sunlight Forest.]

Sunlight Forest was one of the new locations unlocked after Mu You reached a friendly reputation. It was located to the west of Phoenix City, not far away. Mu You rode his Chocobo for over ten minutes before he arrived.

[You have entered Sunlight Forest.]

[This forest, blessed with eternal spring, is filled with Arcane Energy to its extreme. Through the daylight barrier that surrounds the forest, it can receive sufficient daylight, making it a gathering place for various sunlight-based creatures. As such, it only exudes sufficient vitality during sunlight hours.]

[The sky was dark and the forest was quiet. The usually bustling Sunlight Forest was exceptionally deserted at night, with only a few luminescent mushrooms serving as a light source, illuminating the path ahead...]

In plain terms, the Sunlight Forest was a training ground for the children of the Sunlight Elf Clan. Most of the monsters within it were weak, averaging around levels three to four, with the highest not exceeding level eight. Additionally, most of them only appeared during the day, aligning perfectly with the traits of Sunlight Elves, making it quite unfriendly to outsiders.

Of course, Mu You didn’t plan on leveling up here. He was here solely for the quest. Upon entering the forest, he immediately started the search.

Fortunately, there were no restrictions on mounts in this forest. He could do the quest whilst riding his Chocobo, saving him from wasting too much energy on travel.

After wandering in the forest for a little over ten minutes, Mu You finally encountered his first creature.

[The call of your Chocobo has attracted the attention of some peculiar creatures in the forest. You see a transparent floating creature approaching you.]

[The creature is small, about the size of an adult’s palm, with dragon horns and a body wrapped in fish scales. It swayed as it flew in the air, appearing as free as a fish swimming in water.]

[Out-of-control Mana Floating Dragon: Attack Power 15-21, HP 300, Ability: Hovering Dragon Bite.]

[Mana Floating Dragons are gentle creatures. They generally do not attack other creatures proactively. However, this one’s eyes were radiating a scarlet light, a sign of it losing control.]

[The Mana Floating Dragon has noticed you. It screams sharply and thrashes its tail frantically, suddenly accelerating towards you!]

This creature was a type of benign pet that didn’t even have a level. Even though it was in berserk mode, it was still weak, with a flagellate attack and only 300 HP left.

Too lazy to retaliate, Mu You casually used an Arcane Missile from his panel.

[You cast Arcane Missile at the Mana Floating Dragon.]

[Three missiles burst from the tip of your Magic Wand, streaking along twisted paths, and hit the floating creature in mid-air as effectively as guided missiles.]

[In a flashing red gleam, the Mana Floating Dragon let out a painful scream. Its entire body suddenly glowed like an Arcane Explosion. After the light faded, the Mana Floating Dragon had turned into a thumb-sized Crystal lying on the ground.]

[You have killed the out-of-control Mana Floating Dragon, Reputation +10, acquired 1 Arcane Crystal.]

Killing this thing didn’t grant experience and consumed some action points, but the dropped item could be exchanged for a year of lifespan, which exactly offset the consumption. Overall, it seemed like a quest to exchange time for reputation.

Next, Mu You continued to wander through the forest.

These creatures were not only hard to find because of their limited numbers and transparent bodies, but also because it was in the dead of night. Even with his night vision, he could only find one every ten minutes or so.

After busying himself for an hour and a half, Mu You had finally killed 10 Mana Floating Dragons.

Unfortunately, the quest to find the cat didn’t have a single clue yet.

But Mu You didn’t give up. After all, it was worth fifty reputation points. So, he continued to search the forest with his lantern. His Pumpkin Lantern had never disappointed him in finding things.

As expected, after jumping back and forth between different junction options in the forest for half an hour, the Pumpkin Lantern functioned perfectly.

[Under the green luminescence of the Pumpkin Lantern, you notice some plum blossom-shaped footprints on the red maple mud beneath you.]

[These footprints, similar to those of small animals like cats and dogs, could very well belong to the target you are tracking. Do you want to investigate?]

"Investigate."

[You follow the traces of footprints and finally arrive under a large golden-red tree.]

[You hear intermittent screams of a Mana Floating Dragon from ahead. You quickly head towards the noise.]

[You arrive at the base of the tree and see a black spirit cat staring at you with eyes like copper bells. At the cat’s feet is a severely wounded Mana Floating Dragon. It is lying on the ground, uselessly waving its tail. It can no longer fly, and it’s about to die from dehydration, like a fish that washed up on the shore.]

[As you attempt to approach, the spirit cat lets out a threatening meow. It seems to be warning you not to go near its prey.]

Based on the situation, it seemed that the cat had run into the forest to play with the Mana Floating Dragon and had forgotten to return home.

The text hinted that this cat had high aggression. Though it was the quest target, Mu You didn’t want to force anything. He grabbed a can of cat food and brought it into the game. He set up a trap near the large tree and placed the cat food on top of the trap.
