Chapter 401: Chapter 260: You Can Fight, But You Need to Pay More_1

[Old Cat Store Owner has placed the six items for sale in the display case, pulled open the window, and commenced today’s sale...]

As the sale launched, Mu You rapidly made his selection, swiftly clicking on an item.

[You have purchased the ’Holy Light Scroll’...]

Mu You successfully grabbed the first scroll, quickly chose to learn, then backtracked.

[Time flows, you reach for the scroll again, but alas, you were a tad slow. The shelves are now bare.]

His reaction during the second attempt was a bit slow, but no matter, he continued the rollback, and after three attempts, he successfully purchased another item.

[You have learned the ’Divine Shield Spell’.]

With two spells obtained, the next item was a book page, which Mu You had no intention of letting go.

Many people were eyeing the book page, so it proved a bit more challenging to snatch.

Only after continuously backtracking more than a dozen times did he eventually manage to grab it.

[You have purchased a ’Low-level Light Elemental Insight Page’, lifespan -8, remaining lifespan 1391 years.]

There was no need for a rollback on the book page, he’d secured all three scrolls. Uninterested in the remaining items, which were all equipment, Mu You, armed with his book page, decided to leave the scene. He returned to his small wooden house and upgraded his spells.

He now had six light spells: Rapid Repair, Lighting Spell, Food Creation Spell, Arcane Missile, Holy Light, and Divine Shield. He had surpassed the life elements and had mastered the most number of spells in this category.

Mu You first deployed the Holy Light and Divine Shield ten times on the sport, advancing the two new spells to LV2. Then he used the book page to upgrade all six spells to LV3.

After completing the upgrades, Mu You entered the space to test each one of them.

Most of the spells just gained a slight increase in power based on their original effects. For instance, the Repair Curse’s repairing range got broader, and the magical bread made by the Food Creation Spell tasted sweeter, etc.

Among them, the Arcane Missile was the only one to undergo a significant transformation.

The LV2 Arcane Missile would still release a missile dealing 100 damage, but upon upgrading to LV3, instead of increasing the damage, it increased the number of missiles. Now, it could release three missiles at a time, each dealing 100 damage. They would randomly hit nearby enemies and could reveal hidden enemies; the cooling time also got reduced to 9 seconds.

As for the two new spells.

The LV3 Holy Light could instantly restore 300 health points to a target or instantly inflict 300 damage to an undead unit, with a cooldown time of 54 seconds.

LV3 Divine Shield had the same values as the Holy Light but instead of restoring health, it provided a shield that could absorb 300 points of damage. As long as the shield remained unbroken, the target would remain unscathed and unaffected by detrimental magic effects. The shield could last up to 30 seconds with a cooldown time of 54 minutes.

Both were low-level spells, so the values weren’t particularly high. Holy Light was self-explanatory; unless there were undead creatures present, it’s mainly for healing purposes. Its advantage was its instant recovery and ally applicability, but its downside was the long cooldown - once a minute, meaning it could only be used for emergencies.

Despite its conspicuously useful power, Divine Shield Spell’s also had a long cooldown. Even with the use of a Refresh Badge, it could only be used twice in one battle due to its hour-long cooldown.

Having acquired two useful spells, Mu You was in high spirits.

As it approached noon, he dons the Watchman’s skin and sets out to accomplish his lifespan task as usual.

He strolled to the park near his doorstep and continued to kill time on his phone.

[After a brief spell of dizziness, you find yourself in the Forest Priest’s cabin.]

[You leave the cabin, mount your gryphon, and begin patrolling around the Elf Forest...]

Now, he had four routine lifespan tasks: the daily Magic Potion task from the Medicinal Plant Gatherer, daily bloodsucking task from the Vampire, the Watchman’s patrolling task, and the Elf forest’s patrolling task.

The first three tasks were cost-free: he would brew magic potion every day anyway, the gargoyle would automatically supply blood for the bloodsucking task, and the Watchman’s patrol required one hour, but as long as he ensured spending this hour outside, he could still do his things. Hence, he was not consuming any of his time.

These three tasks essentially donated three years of life to him every day, barely enough to nullify the life consumed by frequently using the Dark Teleportation Array.

The only one with a cost attached was the Elf Forest’s patrolling task - although the task didn’t drain any in-game stamina, since he rode a Gryphon, teleporting back to the Elf Forest every day would consume a year of his actual lifespan, meaning his lifespan remained constant.

Nevertheless, Mu You still managed to complete this task each day. It was primarily for gaining 100 reputation points each time, currently his only way of earning reputation with the Forest Elf Clan.

After spending an hour outside, both patrol tasks were completed around the same time.

Mu You continued his game, directing his character towards the Elf’s Forest Teleportation Array.

He now prepared to venture into the realm of the Sunlight Elves and, along the way, claim his new house there.

Getting to Sunlight Elves’ territory was a bit troublesome, as it required using the Teleportation Array to get to Elf’s Forest Main City-Emerald City first, then transported from Emerald City to Phoenix City.

Luckily, Mu You now had high reputation in the Elf Forest, granting him the freedom to move around like home, and the teleportation arrays were free to use.

Half an hour later, Mu You finally arrived at his new locale.

[You’ve arrived at Phoenix City!]

[Phoenix City, the capital of the Sunlight Elf Clan, is located on an archipelago to the north of the Polar Day Range, in the southwestern part of the Star Spirit World. Led by the Solar Clan, Phoenix City enjoys uninterrupted sunlight, dazzling beauty, and abundant resources, making it one of the oldest cities in the Star Spirit World while also being the only place where Phoenixes are produced.]
