Chapter 366: 248

Since it was his debut, many people had no information about him, weren’t prepared. His first nine matches were won smoothly without stumbling block.

Until the tenth match.

[Match successful! Your tenth opponent is: Freshman: Webster (Level 15 Un-evolved), Current Winning Streak: 9 matches.]

"Level 15..."

Mu You’s heart skipped a beat.

What’s a player of such high level doing in the rookie match?

He hastily checked his opponent’s information.

Turns out, his opponent was a fellow late-entry auditor, a former wandering wizard in his thirties. His main motive of joining the academy was to buy Evolution Elixir to break limitations.

This guy had slightly higher attributes than Mu You, his magic proficiency was likely to be on par or higher. More importantly, it wasn’t him on the other side, but game AI controlling the duel. The chances of defeating him were slim.

However, Mu You found his winning streak of 9 matches tempting. If he could defeat him, he would get ten badges at once, that’s like 20 years of life.

In the end, Mu You initiated the battle. It was day one and he wanted to test his limits. He had the Unceasing Trick, cloning, Life Draining and good survivability. It was likely that his opponent wouldn’t be able to kill him within five minutes.

Unfortunately, the match ended in defeat for Mu You.

He was not killed but it was hard for him to harm his opponent. His spells were mostly dodged, and when the five minute mark hit, the remaining life vote concluded it as the opponent’s victory.

But this wasn’t an absolute result; if they were to duel a couple more times, he had a slim chance of victory. The win-loss ratio was roughly 2:8.

In the following dozen matches, Mu You kept his strategy of eliminating weak opponents, and encountered two more players above level 10. One was level 14 and another was level 12. The results were one win and one loss.

At 9:56 in the evening, Mu You’s challenge cooldown ended once again. Before the Duel Field closed, he initiated his last match.

The Duel Field was said to close at ten, but matches initiated before that time would be allowed to finish.

His last opponent was merely a level 8 player. Mu You didn’t hesitate, and decisively defeated the other player.

At the end of today’s twenty-four duels, Mu You had 22 wins and 2 losses. He had stopped a seven-win and a five-win streak, earning a total of 40 badges and 411 experience points.

After this whole night of duels, he had a good glimpse of his strength: barring a few treacherous high-level matches, he was invincible in the rookie fights.

His future strategy was simple: to skip players he can’t defeat and challenge players between level 7 and 11. If the few high-level players’ve accumulated enough wins, he might take a crack at them. Losing only meant a loss of a badge, but winning could gain him much more.

The dueling time ended and the students went their separate ways.

Mu You had his character leave the academy and went to Four Leaf Street to find Jing Moniang.

[You arrive at Four Leaf Street. The place where the Silent Bookstore used to be is bustling with people and noises. You are surrounded by shops with people coming and going. You search but you cannot find the serene bookstore.]

"Where is it?"

Confused, Mu You wondered where the bookstore that was here yesterday had gone. Can this shop fly or something?

Then he remembered the text when he first met Jing Moniang, "Jing Moniang dislikes noise. Her store only opens in the deep quiet hours of the night."

’Deep quiet hours of the night’ were the key words. It not only needed it to be ’deep night’ but also ’quiet’, these were two different conditions.

Last time due to the Tower Breaking event, and the surge of the Fool causing a disturbance, this bustling street was unusually quiet that night. This was why the Silent Bookstore had appeared.

Now that Four Leaf Street had returned to its bustling state, Jing Moniang had naturally gone into stealth.

Understanding that, Mu You immediately lit the Pumpkin Lantern and began to search in its light.

[Under the blue illumination of the Pumpkin Lantern, you distinctly noticed an alley between two shops. It seemed to be an entrance.]

[You followed the alley to the quiet backstreet, and finally, you discovered the serene bookstore basking in the moonlight.]

[You’ve entered the Silent Bookstore.]

[The Civet is comfortably lying down on the table, raising its head to look at you. After yawning, it ignores your presence. It seems to be less wary of you.]

[Seeing you, Jing Moniang at the desk closes the book in her hands, adjusts her glasses and lifts up a ready-made placard.]

[ "A fascinating book, I haven’t encountered such an intriguing story in a long time."]

[ "Is there a sequel?" ]

[ Apparently, the book you gifted the last time had intrigued Jing Moniang. Immersed in the story, she was asking for the sequel. ]

"She’s addicted already, huh...."

Mu You was not surprised, he fetched the sequel, "Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone" and sent it into the game.

[Jing Moniang took the new book from you, immediately started flipping through the pages and cast Translation Spell on it.]

[Seeing that the story indeed was a continuation, she relaxed and finally turned to you, raising a piece of cardboard, asking what you need today?]

Three options: [Ask Questions], [Magic Tutoring], [Upgrade Magic].

"Ask Questions."

Mu You picked ask questions first and then wrote down in the pop-up input box: ’How to enter Silent Library.’

[Jing Moniang accepted your question and began to write on the cardboard...]

[A minute later, she lifts up the cardboard.]

[Red Rose Library has sixteen floors, while the Silent Library resides on the ’15th and a half floor’, a hidden floor sandwiched between the fifteenth and sixteenth. It’s guarded by numerous Silent Beasts that constantly hide its location from outsiders.

The Silent Creatures are ghostly creatures of Curse Element. Anyone who rashly attempts to break into the library will be turned into a ghost by them. However, the Silent Creatures are devout followers of the Moon Goddess. On each full moon night, the Silent Creatures would temporarily leave their posts and gather on the roof of the library to worship the full moon.

The only opportunity to enter the Silent Library, therefore, is on the night of a full moon.

The entry method is: On the first floor of the library, walk five laps in a clockwise direction at a regular pace, then move to the second floor and walk five laps in a counterclockwise direction, then go to the third floor and continue walking in a clockwise direction, follow a counterclockwise direction on the fourth floor...continue until the fifteenth floor.

All of these activities are required to be performed under the cover of the Silence Curse that eliminates all your noises.

If you can fulfil all these, you will discover the entrance to the Silent Library whilst moving up from the fifteenth floor to the sixteenth.]
