Chapter 309: Chapter 231 The Great Name of the Calamity Witch_1

The night breeze blew, and silence spread over the scene.

The wizards present were all stunned by the unfolding scenario. They momentarily forgot to continue their assault.

Meanwhile, the player’s team was equally lost in a haze of stunned disbelief, not even noticing the protective barrier above them had vanished.

Less than two seconds to kill a level 20 wizard, who are these two?

"Anseni Vivian... Impossible, you can’t be her..."

The White Clothed One was still trembling. Having realized the loss of his magic wand, he quickly raised a new one, pointing it shakily at the two, his appearance far from intimidating.

The familiar red robe, the scythe, the phantom scepter, and the crow... It couldn’t be mistaken. This was the Calamity Witch from 200 years ago; the little girl with a scythe who had single-handedly stormed their stronghold!

The only difference was that she had a company of ten dark wizards back then, now, only these two stood.

What the White Clothed One couldn’t understand was, if they had confirmed her death, why would she reappear?

Not far behind the White Clothed One, the resurrected black-robed man also wore a blank expression. He had dared to charge forward due to his confidence in his strength and the many allies around him. Yet, he had never anticipated such an effortless defeat, as if he were just a fly swatted away.

Only upon hearing the name spoken by the White Clothed One did he realize the astounding truth, exclaiming: "Anseni Vivian? Is it really her?"

The White Clothed One’s voice hadn’t carried far, but this shout had. The surrounding wizards had now heard the name.

"Anseni Vivian..."

"Is she the one...?"

"The legendary Calamity..."

Discussion spread rapidly across the scene.

The Wizard Association had always forbidden open discussion about this name, but everyone, as members, had heard, more or less, about the dark past of the association.

The irrefutable fact was that there was a dark period lasting more than two hundred years in the illustrious, near thousand-year history of the Wizard Association.

Those were times when the ten elders were hunted tirelessly, forcing them into hiding in the secret realm; even their stronghold had fallen into enemy hands.

And the culprit behind all this is Anseni, Vivian!

While the name may be strange to fledgling wizards, the title she holds resonates like thunder!

Calamity Witch!

A name that sends shivers down the spines of any member of the Wizard Association.

However, it was well-known within the association that this person was confirmed dead long ago. Why would she appear here so suddenly?

The wizards were bewildered and terrified, while the player’s team was also taken aback, but their initial shock quickly turned into excitement!

The name Anseni Vivian may be unfamiliar to them, but they couldn’t ignore the results of the battle or the levels of those two in the distance.

Level 27!

Level 25!

And these were not ordinary levels, these were after development, indicating they were both at a Legendary level!

In Jiu You’s mind there was no doubt, the leading level 27 must be the Ghost Captain.

They were just anticipating when the Ghost Captain would finally make an appearance, but in the blink of an eye, he had arrived, and on top of that as a Legend, making a stunning entrance!

Regarding the Ghost Captain’s level, they had speculated a lot, some guessed level 19, some 21, and the highest guess even ventured to level 23.

In their minds, level 23 was the absolute peak. A global high, three levels ahead of the Shadow’s Edge, it was the limit of their imagination. Yet, even with that guess, they still underestimated this legend’s power.

Level 27! Even the ancient wizards who had lived for more than a thousand years from the Wizard Association could hardly compete. This wasn’t just a big shot, this was a game-changer!

What thrilled them even more was that there was more than one!

When the Ghost Captain finally joined the battle, he surprisingly brought along another unspecified Legendary level ally. Everyone was a little dazed, since when were Legendary levels so commonplace?

While everyone was still in shock, Vivian moved to attack.

Launching a quick silencing spell followed by a shockwave. Before the White Clothed One could react, both spells connected, silencing him and knocking the magic wand from his hand.

Meanwhile, the young girl with the scythe moved quickly to engage him. Her speed like a lightning bolt as she left a trail of shadowy afterimages in her wake. By the time the White Clothed One fully processed the situation and tried to retreat, she had already slashed once, then twice, then thrice...

It was a pity that the Reaper’s Mark on the scythe had a lengthy cooldown period. The White Clothed One, a thousand-year-old entity, wasn’t an easy opponent to silence with a simple spell. Having mastered wandless and voiceless spellcasting, being silenced and deprived of his wand did not significantly hamper his abilities. He was able to recover his composure within a couple of seconds.
