Chapter 230: Chapter 197 Synthesis Furnace (6200 words)_2

The Witch Doctor was also keeping busy, throwing healing spells on the summoned beasts while taking the time to launch Magic Missiles at Gemini three times, summoning a Curse Doll on the spot.

This Curse Doll appeared as a roughly half-meter-tall straw man, vaguely resembling Gemini. As soon as it appeared, it began to scream shrilly, hopping toward Gemini.

At this point, Gemini didn’t have time to notice a straw man’s appearance. Seeing a doll rushing at him, he assumed it was another of the enemy’s tactics. When the straw man got close, he blasted it with a close-range Small Fireball Technique.

The Curse Doll was immediately charred by the blast, screaming shrilly. At the same moment, an invisible force blasted Gemini far off, turning his entire body black and drastically reducing his health.

Luckily, they were under water, and the fireball was extinguished after only a second, sparing him the subsequent burn damage. Otherwise, just one fireball would have been enough to take his remaining life.

Gemini was stunned - what kind of ability was this? Reflective damage? Or shared damage?

Looking into the distance again, Gemini saw that none of the summoned creatures were chasing him anymore. They were all surrounding the Curse Doll, hacking at it. And whenever the Doll’s health decreased, his own health also decreased.

The Curse Doll was so cooperative. It didn’t run away, but it even eagerly moved closer to the attacks. It behaved like a masochist, as if it was calling everyone to come and chop it.

Gemini could almost vomit blood, what the hell was this?

There were blood locks and straw dolls alike, why were there so many disgusting things targeting him?

Soon, Gemini fell once more in a spectacular fashion, and after dying ten times in a row, a hefty experience penalty caused him to experience his first level drop, from level 12 down to level 11.

A notification popping up in his mind made Gemini jump. After being killed so many times, he was dizzy and had nearly forgotten about this.

If things kept going like this, forget about achieving revenge - if he died two more times, he would be dropped down to level ten and become completely helpless.

Without time to think, Gemini quickly used a Shockwave to pop out of the water after reviving. Then, seeing the fast-approaching black-robed people and the many summoned creatures underwater, he quickly made a timeout gesture: "Wait, wait a moment..."

Mu You, who had surfaced from the water, was not in a hurry to attack, but let the summoned beasts surround Gemini.

"What do you want to say?"

"Why do you want to kill me?" Gemini asked.

"Why do I want to kill you, don’t you know?" Mu You sneered.

Gemini was taken aback, unsure of how to respond.

"Where are Taurus and the others from the Illuminati hiding?" Mu You asked again.

"I don’t know."

"You don’t know?"

"It’s the truth! For safety, Taurus didn’t tell me. It’s to prevent situations like this from happening." Gemini quickly explained.

"Is that so..."

Mu You was noncommittal, but he didn’t linger on this point, instead asking, "Why did you join forces with the Ten Commandments?"

"Because... they offered enough benefits." Gemini replied.

"Oh? What kind of benefits?"

Gemini hesitated for a moment: "If I tell you, will you spare me?"

"Hmm, I will." Mu You nodded without hesitation.

Gemini was taken aback by his words. Instead of being overjoyed, his face darkened.

This was too fake. Couldn’t you at least pretend to hesitate a bit...?

"I don’t believe you, unless... you sign a Blood Covenant with me!" Gemini gritted his teeth and said.

"Hehe, you’re worthy?" What he received, however, was a scoff.

Gemini was immediately annoyed: "Then why should I trust you?"

"You don’t have to trust me, because you have no other choice. You can only take a gamble and bet that I might spare your life out of mercy," Mu You said.

Gemini bitterly smiled in his heart, what kind of choice was this, betting on his opponent’s mercy? He wouldn’t dare to do that even in his dreams.

"Since you have nothing to say, let’s proceed." Mu You once again raised his Magic Wand.

Gemini’s eyes darted around, fully aware that Mu You would never spare him today. His heart turned fierce. Before Mu You could attack, he suddenly charged, seeming to want to struggle before dying.

However, in the blink of an eye, Mu You kicked him back into the water, where he was once again besieged by summoned creatures, starting another cycle of desperate death.

After one minute, Gemini was killed to below level ten, losing the protection of his rank and completely losing all power to resist.

This change was like igniting a powder keg, and Gemini completely lost his composure.

"Why do you have the right to kill me!"

"What did I do wrong?"

"All members of the Sorcerer’s Association are equal individuals..."

"The conflict with the Ten Commandments, that’s just the rules of the previous generation of sorcerers. What does it have to do with us?"

"If I need to be punished, it should be done by the sorcerers who founded the association. You and I are the same, just inheritors. You have no right to kill me..."

...

Gemini continually cursed whenever he surfaced from the water upon dying.

While cursing, he suddenly noticed that the black-robed man who was chasing him had paused on the water’s surface, as if listening to something.

Gemini thought his verbal barrage had worked, but before he could rejoice, Mu You quickly turned back: "Sorry about that. I was just urged by the founder of the Sorcerer’s Association to hurry up and do it. She doesn’t want to have her ears spoiled by your nonsense."

"What?"

Gemini was taken aback and then flew into a rage, rushing towards Mu You.

If you want to kill, just do it. Why do you need such a crude excuse to disgust people?
