Chapter 175: Chapter 160 Deep Sea Fear (Two in One, 6600 Words) _1
Under the sea, Mu You lingered far behind the ship.
This man was quite vigilant, rowing the boat while frequently turning his head back to check if he was being followed.
It was unfortunate for him that Mu You was even more alert. Due to the Time Pocket Watch with him, he could predict the exact moment the young man would turn to check, allowing him to hide and eliminate any trace left on the water surface.
Throughout his pursuit, he remained unnoticed.
After nearly two hours of trailing, the boatman finally seemed to arrive at his destination. He docked near a small island in the sea, pulled in his ship, and hastily rushed onto the island.
The crescent-shaped island, spanning only a few hundreds of meters, had a vibrant mangrove forest growing on it.
As soon as the boatman stepped onto the island, he swiftly made his way towards the forest at the center.
From under the water, Mu You could clearly see a partially concealed door beneath one of the mangrove trees, unexpectedly appearing in mid-air.
Rather than approaching, Mu You released the Reconnaissance Beetle into the water.
The beetle moved swiftly in the water, quickly reaching the vicinity of the island’s shore and hiding under a patch of sea grass near the beach.
Mu You also put the Invisibility Cloak on and concealed himself under the water, covertly observing the scene in front of him.
He watched as the boatman ran to the door and cautiously knocked.
After a while, the door creaked open and a broad, muscular man appeared in the doorway.
Clearly, this man was the gatekeeper!
Mu You didn’t recognize this man, but he noticed the interior behind him when the man opened the door. It was a brightly-lit bedroom, and behind the man, a person who appeared to be his subordinate, briefly passed by the door.
Mu You recognized the subordinate’s uniform – the familiar white attire and badge were indeed used by the Illuminati.
So, this door belonged to the Illuminati?
Mu You furrowed his brows. Who then was this gatekeeper? Was he Gemini or Taurus?
Due to the distance, the Omniscient Crystal couldn’t directly read information about this person.
However, if the door really belonged to the Illuminati, the owner could only be either Taurus or Gemini - the two founders. Given the man’s physique, Mu You was more inclined to believe it was Taurus.
At this moment, the beetle transmitted the conversation taking place at the island’s entrance.
"What’s the catch?" asked the muscular man.
"It’s decent, however...there was a slight accident..." The boatman replied nervously.
"Accident?"
"I messed up the last trip... and the boat... it was stolen..."
The man frowned and sternly asked, "What happened?"
The boatman hastily relayed the incident, but his words were deliberately evasive. He stated only the fact that the thief could breathe underwater – a fact that had caught him off-guard, resulting in the boat being stolen.
It was obvious that the man knew his subordinate well - he deduced what had really happened by piecing together the scattered storyline.
Upon figuring it out, however, he seemed to realize something and quickly stepped out of the door, vigilantly scanning the surroundings. He failed to detect anything suspicious.
"Were you followed on your way back?" He asked the boatman, his eyebrows furrowed.
"No!"
The young man quickly shook his head and confidently replied, "As you know, I’m always very cautious about that."
The man looked intently into his eyes for a moment before nodding, "Who was the one who stole your boat?"
"It was a lean-faced fisherman, identifiable by his lack of eyebrows, beard, and hair," the boatman immediately replied.
"Go back and sketch this man’s face; we will inform the intelligence department to watch out for him." The man gave the young man’s shoulder a pat, allowing him to go inside.
He soon followed after the young man and entered the door.
However, just as he was about to step inside, the man suddenly turned around, scattering a handful of Dispersal Powder.
The powder spread over a couple of hundred meters, covering the entire island and its surrounding waters.
Nonetheless, even after the powder was cast, there was no sign of any concealed object appearing.
Only then did the man enter, leaving the door partially ajar.
"This guy is quite careful; it’s a good thing I’m hiding far away..."
Mu You remained undisturbed beneath the water, without moving or commanding the beetle. For now, he needed to confirm the door’s closing time.
After he had waited for a while longer, Mu You observed several people in various disguises arriving at the door. Just like the boatman, once they knocked, they were quickly ushered in by the man.
True enough, the man was overly cautious. Each time someone returned, he would specifically walk a round outside, unexpectedly scattering a measure of powder, even though he had never managed to capture anything.
Having waited for an hour, Mu You noticed the man frequently checking his watch. It appeared time was nearing for the door to be closed.
Three to four minutes later, another small boat made its way from the distant sea, this time carrying a black-robed man.
"This attire..."
Mu You was taken aback again. The entirely cloaked figure that shunned any light... Could this be the member of the legendary Ten Commandments?
Were these two organizations working together now?
After the individual in black robe docked his boat, he made a direct teleportation to the doorway.
The men clearly knew each other, and the muscular man promptly walked out to welcome him.
"All preparations are ready. We will act in four days..." The black-robed figure rasped quietly.
"Don’t talk about it here..."
The muscular man made a silencing gesture, attentively scanned the surrounding environment, and then motioned for him to enter first.
