Chapter 1432: Chapter 624: Mu You’s Home Court Advantage_2
["Lord Seam God has instructed us to use this dragon to create the strongest Stitch Beast, so we must keep the dragon’s body intact. Now how are we supposed to explain this..."]
["No one should have been here. This wound looks like it bit itself..."]
["Could it be trying to commit suicide? Stupid beast!" The Titan cursed angrily and punched the White Dragon’s head to vent his frustration.]
[The White Dragon saw stars from the punch. Restrained by two Titans, it couldn’t move. Upon hearing the Titans’ discussion, it had already guessed its fate...]
[The White Dragon’s face was ashen, but recalling the events just now, a glimmer of hope flashed in its eyes. Thankfully, it had already entrusted the most important matters before its potential demise.]
[As you watch the two Titans escort the White Dragon away, you decide to...]
[Ignore them and head to Dragon Valley—this is the priority.]
[Follow them and find a way to rescue the White Dragon.]
There were two choices. Of course, Mu You chose to save it.
He intended to pull the Dragon Clan onto the Fool’s war chariot. Relying solely on information about the Blood God Body wouldn’t necessarily suffice. After all, even if they knew the Blood God Body was in the hands of the Divine Beast, the Dragon Clan could still acquire it through negotiation or other peaceful means. Warfare was often the last resort.
Forcing the Dragons to rebel alongside the Fool would be impossible without sufficient favorability.
And saving a member of the Dragon Clan was a very effective way to increase their goodwill.
Mu You wasn’t sure of this young dragon’s status within the Dragon Clan, but as long as he managed to rescue it, it would still serve as leverage in negotiations.
[You quickly climb out through a vent and soon find yourself back on the prison roof.]
[Gazing at the two Titans below escorting the White Dragon, you melt into the shadows of the night, spreading your wings to discreetly follow them...]
With only two Titans escorting it, launching a surprise attack to subdue them and rescuing the White Dragon wouldn’t be too difficult. However, they would need to leave the main road and head for a secluded corner first. Otherwise, even if he managed to save the dragon, they’d be spotted by nearby Titans, rendering the effort meaningless.
Mu You piloted his character, silently following them.
Unfortunately, the two Titans walked the entire way along the main road. The crowded streets were full of other Titans, leaving no room for an attack.
Seeing that they were nearing the city center, Mu You began to grow anxious.
If they entered a certain radius of the city center, his disguise would be detected by the city’s gods. At that point, there’d be no chance to save the dragon.
Just as Mu You debated whether to act prematurely before they reached the critical zone, the game suddenly popped up with an unexpected prompt.
[You fly swiftly and land on the rooftop of the nearest tall building to rest.]
[You suddenly feel the dense Order Runes around you swirling by on the wind, brushing against your body like pages of paper gently caressing your cheeks, warm and familiar...]
"Pages of paper..."
Mu You pondered this description thoughtfully.
"The Book of Order—where is it located within the City of Order?" Mu You raised his head to ask the Lamp God.
The Lamp God had once mentioned that the Order Barrier covering the city was the result of the Book of Order’s workings. That meant the book should still be within the city.
"The Book of Order?"
The Lamp God froze momentarily and, misinterpreting Mu You’s intent, shook his head dismissively. "Don’t get any ideas. The Book of Order no longer exists. It was fully sacrificed by the God of Order, becoming the foundational rules forming the city’s barrier. It’s now inseparable from the city itself and can’t be restored."
"Sacrificed... so it merely lost its tangible form. Yet, its rules are still functioning continuously to this day."
Mu You reflected aloud, "The Book of Order has merged with the city... does that mean, effectively, the Book of Order is omnipresent within the city?"
"Uh, you could say that... I guess?" The Lamp God sounded uncertain.
But Mu You was already more than half convinced.
If the Pen of Order was the sword in a lawmaker’s hand, then the Book of Order was the vessel for recording and storing the codes of law.
The two were complementary, designed to work synergistically for maximum effect.
If the Book of Order truly was omnipresent, then theoretically, he should now be able to easily modify some of the City of Order’s rules...
With this thought, Mu You hurried to test it in the game.
[You withdraw the Pen of Order and automatically enter the Order Interface.]
[A dense array of Order Runes unfurls before your eyes...]
[Book of Order detected (sacrificed, intangibly fused, immovable).]
Current Recorded Rules (1/5):
Parasite Prohibition: All parasitic behavior and symbiotic resonance are nullified. (Permanent Rule, Rule Range: City of Order and a 10-li radius from its outskirts)]
[Rule slots available. Would you like to edit a rule now?]
"It actually works..." Mu You’s eyes lit up.
Having the ability to create rules meant he would be stronger here than anywhere else. It opened up numerous possibilities beyond the ordinary.
This was a veritable home-field advantage!
From the descriptions, it seemed the Book of Order could hold a maximum of five rules. With Parasite Prohibition occupying one, there were four slots remaining.
Mu You immediately tried inputting, "Eliminate all living Titans in the city."
The game replied: [The deviation value required for this rule is far too immense, vastly exceeding your current capabilities. Editing failed.]
"As expected, it doesn’t work..." Mu You sighed, slightly disappointed. It would have been too easy otherwise, and the surviving Divine Race wouldn’t have been exterminated previously.
He tried other inputs, like eliminating the city’s gods, killing a subset of Titans, or banishing all Titans from the city, but they all resulted in the same error—the required deviation value was too high to modify.
Undeterred, Mu You patiently experimented with the Book of Order’s mechanics.
It wasn’t until he inputted "Weaken all Titans in the city" that a change finally occurred.
[Timed Rule: Weaken all non-divine Titans in the city by 1 Star Level collectively. This rule will increase the deviation value by 51% and last for 10 hours.]
"Oh?"
Mu You raised an eyebrow. This actually worked?
Weakening all Titans in the city by one star level, though minor, was still a significant debuff.
Unfortunately, it only affected ordinary Titans, wasn’t a permanent rule, and had a duration of just 10 hours...
Mu You shook his head slightly and continued testing.
After experimenting with more commands, he gradually grew accustomed to the Book of Order’s functionality.
In simple terms, the Book of Order was akin to a domain with a specific range, where the user determined all the rules within that domain. The strength of those rules depended entirely on Mu You’s personal power and mastery over the Law of Order.
The higher these two attributes, the more deviation value he could handle. If the deviation value of a proposed rule exceeded 100%, the system would prohibit its editing.
Rules were categorized into Permanent Rules, Timed Rules, and Instant Rules.
Permanent Rules, like the existing Parasite Prohibition, would remain in effect indefinitely unless erased by their creator. However, they required exorbitant deviation values, far beyond Mu You’s current capacity.
Timed Rules, on the other hand, were essentially Permanent Rules with a time limit. Once the limit expired, they would vanish and need rewriting. Their deviation costs were significantly reduced, enabling Mu You to craft simpler rules.
Instant Rules referred to commands executed immediately or within a short span—for instance, "instantly kill a specific Titan." Similar to a death note, the command would activate instantly, killing the designated Titan, after which the rule would vanish.
However, Instant Rules consumed a notable amount of deviation value. To kill a Nine-Star Titan, for instance, would instantly raise deviation by 40%, limiting Mu You to eliminating no more than two ordinary Titans per confrontation.
As for god-level creatures, those were completely beyond his current capabilities.
That said, while outright kills were infeasible, he could impose simple restrictions like immobilizing a god-level enemy for a few seconds, making them temporarily blind and deaf, inducing confusion, or staggering them briefly. Though minor, these effects could still turn the tide of battle when applied strategically.
But those considerations were for later.
For now, tracking two ordinary Titans didn’t require anything overly complex.
After a brief thought, Mu You inputted the following in the game:
[Timed Rule: Conceal the aura of all fools in the city. Duration: 5 hours. Deviation value increase: 8%.]
