Chapter 1429: Chapter 623: The Dominant Entry of the Third Party

Late at night, City of Order.

There is no moon or stars in tonight’s sky, and nightfall descends like a black curtain, shrouding the entire outskirts of the city in pitch darkness.

At this moment, outside the northern wall of the city, a squad of Titan guards holding Torches are marching in neat steps, tirelessly performing their nighttime patrol duties.

The light from the Torches grows from distant to near, illuminating the city walls along the path.

Suddenly, the patrol leader at the front of the squad halts, the right-hand Torch casting light upon a tiny shadow that flickers past everyone’s field of vision on the wall.

But in the next instant, a Flying Dagger is thrown from one of the soldiers, pinning the shadow firmly in the center of the wall.

Only then do they see clearly; impaled by the blade and stuck on the wall is a tail-less lizard.

The lizard’s body is pierced through; its limbs and head struggle desperately, but in vain, it cannot escape, soon exhausting its strength and gradually becoming still.

A Titan Soldier steps forward, pulls out the Knife, and with a burst of flame, burns the lizard’s body until nothing is left.

The soldiers then fall back into formation, and the troop continues their patrol, quickly moving away.

What the patrol team doesn’t know is that shortly after they’ve left, when darkness envelopes this section of the wall again, the shadows of three more lizards emerge from the rubble at the bottom of the wall. The leading lizard quickly climbs to where the previous lizard died, examines the marks left by the Flying Dagger on the wall, glances around, and then continues to ascend.

And the other two lizards quickly follow suit.

Soon, the three lizards have scaled the entire wall and descend on the other side, entering the city.

The three lizards gather in the shadow of a wall within the city, glance at one another, and suddenly twist and change, their forms rapidly stretching into three long snakes with two horns on their heads... or rather, dragons.

The three dragons display yellow, green, and black colors, keeping their size controlled to only as long as a regular grass snake.

The three differently-colored dragons meet in the shadows, their dragon eyes moving intelligently as they begin to speak in human tongues.

Green Dragon: "I #¥%&, these Divine Race are ferocious. Luckily, Boss had us hide, or we definitely would have been caught..."

Yellow Dragon: "Boss, there are too many of them, just the three of us can’t handle it. Shouldn’t we go back and call for reinforcements?"

Green Dragon: "Fatty Huang, you coward, you got frightened by this many people, don’t say you’re from the Dragon Clan!"

Yellow Dragon: "How am I a coward? You blend in with the bushes with your green skin, no one can see you. I’m a Yellow Dragon, shining like gold wherever I go! Try painting yourself yellow and see..."

Black Dragon: "Enough, stop quarreling!"

When the noticeably larger Black Dragon spoke, the two smaller dragons immediately shut up.

Black Dragon first turned to the slightly out of shape Yellow Dragon: "The elders of our clan will not provoke the Divine Race on their own, nor would they allow us to infiltrate alone; if we tell them, we’d surely be grounded, and Little White might be abandoned. So, we can only rely on ourselves!"

Yellow Dragon hurriedly showed his stance: "Boss, just say the word and I’ll follow!"

Black Dragon: "Remember our initial goal. We entered this mission not only to try and rescue Little White, but also to figure out if the Blood God’s Trunk is indeed in this city."

Black Dragon: "If we can’t rescue Little White, we at least need proof that the Blood God’s Trunk is inside the city. Then, we can convince the clan elders upon our return to personally lead forces to negotiate with the Divine Race, and naturally, Little White too can be rescued!"

Hearing this, Green Dragon frowned and said: "But, something as important as the Blood God’s Trunk, even if it’s really in this city, would surely be carried by that Knife-wielding guy. We have no chance of getting close..."

Yellow Dragon, seizing the opportunity to counter, laughed: "Hahaha, Skinny Green, you’re calling me coward? Look who’s talking, you’re the real coward. What’s there to fear from one Divine Race? Didn’t we easily handle the one we encountered today? I even swallowed the smoke bomb he released!" Yellow Dragon said, burping contentedly.

Green Dragon scoffed and turned towards Yellow Dragon: "You know shit, that was just a small fry during the day, of course easy to kill! Do you know how fierce that Knife-wielding guy is? When my dad encountered him, he nearly got his leg chopped off in a single clash... Even my dad was no match for him. That guy is a truly ruthless character..." Green Dragon said with a shade of lingering fear on his face.

"Cut the excuses; you’re just being a coward!"

"You’re the coward, your entire family are cowards..."

"Enough, both of you, stop arguing!"

The Black Dragon intervened in a timely manner to break up the argument: "In any case, let’s first find the location where Little White is imprisoned and then decide based on the situation!"

Under the authority of the Black Dragon, the two dragons finally silenced. After exchanging glances and nodding at each other, they transformed back into three lizards. With the Black Dragon leading, they quickly slipped into the shadows beside the wall and vanished.

...

Meanwhile, at the other end of the city, hidden at the end of a street alley, lies a prison.

Inside a cage, a small dragon completely covered in white scales suddenly opens its eyes and turns towards a duct overhead, feeling the familiar presence above, unable to hide a trace of joy on its face.

The White Dragon stretches its neck, about to say something, when the sound of footsteps echoes from not too far away.

Hurriedly, the White Dragon retracts its body and curls up in the cage again, lowering its head, feigning a listless demeanor.
