Chapter 1388: Chapter 607: Creating Something out of Nothing, Searching for the Enemy in the Void
"So tragic..."
After reading the entire epitaph, Mu You couldn’t help but sigh with emotion.
The record of thefts on these walls showed just how vibrant and bold the Thief God was in his prime. Yet such a god, once he stood against the pantheon, ultimately couldn’t escape a fate of despair and waiting for death. It seems that within the Divine Race, interpersonal relationships were still a crucial element.
Of course, it was precisely because the gods forced the Thief God to an early death that he evaded the subsequent disaster that befell the Divine Race, avoiding the fate of being possessed by the Divine Beasts.
"Rest in peace, I’ll take good care of your authority..."
Mu You silently mourned the Thief God before controlling his character to approach God’s Corpse.
[You reach out and touch the bones on the throne, beginning the process of refining God’s Corpse.]
[Refining the Bone of the Thief God...]
[Refinement Successful! You obtained ’Divine Blood’ *1, ’Bone of the Thief God’ *1.]
The entire refinement process lasted about thirty minutes. The refinement of the Demon God Bones also took half an hour, which suggests that the strength of the Thief God might not be weaker than that of the Demon God.
Mu You hurriedly checked the effects of the ’Bone of the Thief God’.
[Bone of the Thief God: A Divine Bone extracted from the remnants of the former Thief God, containing a portion of the power of The Theft Authority. After integration, one will gain the Divine Right ’Skillful Hand’.]
[Skillful Hand: Upon contact with Divine Creatures, one may arbitrarily steal an equipped item from the target. If the target is a non-equipable Divine Beast, then it shifts to securing a specified material for refinement that will definitely drop upon death. Can be triggered only once per creature.]
"Powerful!"
After reading it, Mu You’s eyes lit up, thinking that it was indeed worthy of the authority of the Thief God. This was just the Divine Art manifested after the refinement of the authority, and even though it’s a greatly simplified version, it was still so potent. No wonder the Thief God at his prime caused all other gods to fear him.
Encountering any creature, you could instantly swipe an item off them; and take note, what’s being stolen is not Divinity, but an actual item, with no specified upper limit on the quality. This means even Divine Artifact Level items could be swiped at will!
Although the stolen Divine Artifact might not be usable due to divine restrictions, it is still a tangible weakening of the opponent at the very least.
Imagine starting a fight with an enemy and instantly banning one of their highest-grade equipment—what would that feel like?
Moreover, there’s an additional effect after. If the target is a monster without stealable items, it can be converted to stealing a specified ’material’, and here too there’s no limit placed on the quality of the material.
This means that even rare materials could be claimed in advance!
Keep in mind, rare materials from monsters, though they are part of the monsters’ organs, are not guaranteed to appear during the refinement process.
For example, the Poisonous Fluffy Spider’s venom fangs—logically, every Poisonous Fluffy Spider has two venom fangs, and in theory, if one perfectly dissects a Poisonous Velvet Spider, there should be two rare materials ’venom fangs’ available. However, in actual refinement, there’s only a minuscule chance that a venom fang will be refined.
This is because the refining process itself involves ’losing most of the material’s energy to favor the emergence of a small part of special substances’.
Only materials that have been born out of refinement will possess those unique effects under divine rules. If you dissect the corresponding organs directly after a monster dies without any refinement, then all you’ll get is a pile of lifeless flesh, missing the properties of the normal materials.
Now, the ability ’Skillful Hand’ is equivalent to pre-securing the materials destined to appear in refining. To put it simply, it turns those rare materials, which normally have an extremely low probability of appearing on monsters, into a guaranteed drop without affecting the normal drop rate!
This effect, in some ways, is even more practical than the previous item-stealing ability. Because in the Real World, players spend the majority of their time facing monsters, and this ability essentially multiplies the efficiency of farming materials by several times, if not by dozens!
In summary, the two powers provided by the Thieves’ Divine Right, one for PvP and one for PvE, are both extremely useful abilities.
The only pity is that this ability can only be used once on each creature...
Mu You guesses that this is probably the part that was pruned from the authority. The original Thief God’s Divine Power likely didn’t restrict the number of thefts, allowing multiple thefts from each god, only that the difficulty of stealing from the same person would significantly increase after each theft.
This is evident from the Thief God’s theft record carved on the wall before, where there were records of multiple thefts from the same deity, but the most was three times; there were none with four times or more.
Back on track, though Mu You didn’t get the Thief God’s treasure this time, just this Divine Bone alone made the trip worthwhile.
It’s just a pity that this Divine Bone can’t yet be integrated.
Mu You glanced at his panel.
[Current Star Level: 3-Star]
[Divine Bones integrated: 2/2 (Upon reaching 4-Star Level and after all present Divine Bones have been fully integrated, the next Divine Bone can be integrated)]
[Bone of the Demon God integration progress: 100%]
[Silent God Bone integration progress: 24.82%.]
About the integration of Divine Bones, there’s no Star Level requirement for the first bone. From the second bone onwards, one must achieve Star Levels of 3, 5, 7, and 9 to integrate.
This means that before becoming a god, one could integrate up to five Divine Bones.
