Chapter 1374: Chapter 602: The Way of the Master Thief, Profound and Vast

[Atop the throne, seeing you successfully steal the sixth Treasure Chest, the bandit leader could not help but show a trace of emotion on his face.]

[Immediately, the bandit leader noticed you holding a Divine Arts stone and cast a questioning look at him.]

[The other bandits around him were also casting inquiring glances, as the current record for the ordinary bandits was the fifth Treasure Chest; no one had ever publicly succeeded in opening the sixth Treasure Chest. Thus, no one knew that the sixth chest contained Rare Items instead of Divinity.]

[In response to everyone’s skepticism, the bandit leader explained with feigned calmness and a touch of embarrassment: "In the sixth and seventh Treasure Chests, apart from Divinity, there is also a chance to steal some Rare Items. It’s a special reward I’ve set up, like this Divine Arts stone, which records the Golden Left Hand Divine Arts!"]

[The bandits exclaimed in surprise upon hearing this. The Golden Left Hand is one of the five advanced thieving arts passed down from the ancestors of the sparrows, currently mastered by only a very few elite bandits. In terms of value, it is definitely not worth less than thirty thousand Divinity, and it’s priceless since money can’t buy it.]

[The bandits looked at you enviously. The bandit leader specifically mentioned the name of the item, convincing everyone of its value, which was indeed worthy of a special reward and assured them that the leader wasn’t tricking them.]

Regarding the bandit leader’s statement, Mu You had only two words: Bullshit!

He had just found out that after rolling out this stone, he suspected it was due to bad luck that he didn’t get Divinity, so he specifically rolled back thousands of times to try again, and the result was still this damn thing.

Mu You immediately became sure that there was no Divinity in this chest, only this one item.

Clearly, the bandit leader couldn’t produce more Divinity, or rather, he never imagined that someone could actually unlock something from the sixth chest, so he carelessly threw in an item as a perfunctory prize.

Of course, Mu You, despite knowing the leader’s tactics, didn’t expose him publicly, mainly because he couldn’t explain how he could try endlessly without fail.

[Under the expectant gaze of the bandits, you approach the seventh Treasure Chest and slowly reach out...]

The seventh chest, Mu You had little expectation for, because if even the sixth chest was carelessly stuffed with an item, let alone the seventh.

[Theft successful! From the seventh Treasure Chest, you stole an ancient map...]

As expected...

Mu You clicked to view the entry.

[An unknown map: a Beastskin map with no markings on it. Perhaps due to age, the guiding Runes have almost completely dissipated, and even the terrain lines have blurred beyond recognition. You can only make out a rough shape of the landform along with an ’X’ mark, seeming to indicate that this place might hide some treasure.]

"Uh..."

Mu You took it out for a look and was instantly speechless.

Just as described in the text, the map was so blurred it barely resembled a map; it was more like someone’s casual doodle. You could only vaguely make out a few oddly shaped mountains and waterfalls, and there was a wobbly ’X’ drawn at the foot of one of the mountains.

This item was even more abstract than the previous Divine Arts stone. Not to mention whether it’s a real Treasure Map, even if there really was a treasure, there were no marked general directions—only this fragment of a terrain map. With the vast expanse of Sky High World, this combination of mountains and waterfalls could be found anywhere. Where was he to begin his search?

[Atop the throne, the bandit leader saw you successfully steal something from the seventh Treasure Chest, and a spark of excitement flashed in his eyes, quickly hidden as he lowered his head and his eyebrows darted about before he feigned a look of slight surprise.]

[Facing the gazes of others, the bandit leader hastily explained: "Ahem, I’ve placed ten thousand Divinity and three Easter egg items inside the seventh Treasure Chest. Unfortunately, you got a bit unlucky and drew a lesser prize... But don’t underestimate this map; I once paid a hefty sum to purchase it from a Crow Man. It’s said to be a Treasure Map, and if you can find the place on it, you might get even a richer reward..."]

Mu You was already immune to the bandit leader’s pie-in-the-sky promises.

Obviously, even he had no idea what was hidden at the place marked on the map. It was very likely just a random map he stumbled upon that looked like a Treasure Map. Unable to locate the treasure but feeling it was too valuable to discard, he’d tossed it into the chest as a reward.

Mu You sighed and didn’t make a fuss. After all, he hadn’t had much hope to begin with, and the gains from the first five chests were already a big win. He’d treat the map as if he hadn’t seen it.

Thinking this, Mu You was about to put away the map, but when he flipped it over, he suddenly noticed several rows of faint characters in the bottom right corner of the Beastskin’s backside.

Mu You hastily picked up the Beastskin and scrutinized it carefully.

"...the location... the items... sent to... much appreciative..."

The characters were disconnected and too blurred to form complete sentences, leaving very little information to interpret.

However, that wasn’t the point. The point was that the characters were written in Star Spirit Language!

Star Spirit Language is a language created specifically for the Star Spirit World by the Divine Race, and most of the intelligent beings in the Sky High World communicate using the Divine Race language.

In the Sky High World, the only ones who use Star Spirit Language besides the Divine Race are the Fools, and to the Divine Race, the Divine Race language is their mother tongue; why would anyone use Star Spirit Language for communication without good reason?
