Chapter 1333: Chapter 586: You Can’t Be Incompetent, Can You?_3
"That’s all from our side. How about you, are you ready to ascend to the heavens?" Ling Long couldn’t wait to ask.
"Four days from now... But before that, we need to deal with the troubles outside first," Mu You said.
Watchman and Ling Long both knew what ’the troubles outside’ referred to: Mirage Energy.
This substance was a double-edged sword. If Mirage Energy hadn’t suddenly descended and disabled all functions of the fake Crystals, reducing the combat power of the high-ranking church officials to one-tenth, their mission wouldn’t have been completed so smoothly.
"Indeed, it was us, the Fools, who brought it here, and ignoring it isn’t ideal... But, how do we handle it?"
Watchman pondered: "Even if we drive the Mirage Energy out of the Star Spirit World now, once we leave, it could still come back, right?"
"This is where you come in," Mu You looked at him and said.
"Me?"
Watchman was taken aback but quickly understood his meaning and couldn’t help but smirk: "I... suppose I’ll have a talk with it first..."
"I’ll go with you," Mu You said.
Without refusing, Watchman rested his hand on Mu You’s shoulder, and the consciousness of both entered Watchman’s sea of awareness.
In the boundless, pure white sea of awareness, they descended from the sky and finally landed on a foggy surface of water.
With a wave of his hand, Watchman dispersed the fog, and the silhouette of a giant serpent instantly appeared in the space before them.
The serpent, Gusha, its upper body entwined around a high tower and its lower tail leisurely lingering in the water.
A pale-faced little boy was currently kneeling obediently at the base of the tower, pounding his fists on the serpent’s body to give Gusha a massage.
Seeing the two men approaching, the boy’s face immediately showed a resentful expression, but since Gusha was next to him, he didn’t dare to say anything. He hurriedly hid his expression and bowed his head to continue his task.
The two ignored Cain and walked directly in front of Gusha to explain the purpose of their visit.
"You want me to scare away the Mirage Tapir? Golo golo golo..."
After hearing their intention, Gusha suddenly burst into laughter. A serpent head emerged from the clouds high above and stretched out in front of them, its forked tongue flickering towards the two men.
"Of course I can! But why should I, this great one, help you?"
"Don’t be so heartless, Little Eight. After all, we’ve known each other for so long and can be considered friends, right? Do friends need a reason to help each other out?" Watchman persuaded.
"Friends? Would you consider someone who has imprisoned you in their consciousness a friend?" Gusha said sarcastically.
Watchman was about to say more but was stopped by Mu You.
Mu You looked up at the serpent head high above, his expression odd: "You aren’t afraid, are you?"
"Afraid? What do you mean? Are you suggesting I can’t defeat that stupid pig?" Gusha immediately frowned, sounding displeased.
Watchman also quickly caught on: "Oh, that might be true. After all, it’s the end of the Fear Season now, and the Mirage Energy Season is beginning. Your power must be waning, while the Mirage Tapir’s strength is increasing over time. It’s only natural you can’t defeat it."
"Let’s go. We’ll look for another solution," Mu You said, disappointedly shaking his head, motioning Watchman to leave.
"Stop right there!"
Gusha roared angrily: "What a joke! Do you think this lord would be afraid of that little pig? Back in Sky High, that thing only served as my lackey, obedient to my every command. Do you know why the Mirage Energy Season is the shortest and the Fear Season the longest of the four disaster seasons? It’s because every time the seasons change, it only dares to come out after I’ve had my fun and voluntarily hibernated. If I don’t leave, it wouldn’t dare to show its face!"
"Even now that the Mirage Energy Season is over, do you believe that just by showing my face, I could make it run away with its tail between its legs?" Gusha said angrily.
"Okay, Little Eight, no need to explain. We all understand, we won’t really make you embarrass yourself," Watchman ’comforted’ him and then continued to leave with Mu You.
"Scoundrels!" Gusha grew even more furious, its serpent head extended and swiftly intercepted the two men, blocking their path.
After glaring at the two with indignation, Gusha quickly sneered: "Heh, I am the progenitor of heart manipulation; you don’t need to use this kind of provocation on me. In the end, you just want me to step in and help you, right?"
"I’ll tell you directly, I can, but first, you need to liberate my true body and restore some of my strength. Otherwise, I probably won’t be able to intimidate that fellow," said Gusha.
"It’s impossible! What if your true body escapes?" Watchman immediately shook his head.
Failing to scare away the Mirage Tapir would at most result in the Star Spirit World losing some land over the next few millennia, which wouldn’t significantly impact the Fools, nor would it have irreversible consequences for the other creatures of the Star Spirit World. But if Gusha’s true body was accidentally released, that would truly be the start of a catastrophe for all living beings.
"Heh, that’s for you to consider. Anyway, I’ve told you the method, whether you use it or not is up to you," Gusha said, then turned around to crawl back up the tower, no longer paying any attention to the two men.
