Chapter 114: Chapter 114: Those Who Intrude Tombs, Die!_1

There really is a tomb!

Mu You felt delighted.

And according to the description, the person buried in this tomb seemed to be the owner of Foggy Mountain.

If the fog on this mountain was indeed this man’s creation, the game text reminder wasn’t wrong, this was someone he truly couldn’t afford to mess with.

Of course, regardless of whether he provokes or not provokes, he definitely still has to go in and take a look. If there’s any kind of kill-on-door-opening trope, he can easily time travel back.

[You chose to move forward, push open the tomb’s door and step inside.]

[You entered the inside of the tomb without falling into expected darkness. Fluorescent stones scattered along the walls of the tomb creating a dim, green light.]

[Under the glow of the light, you could clearly see the structure of the tomb. Facing your eyes was a huge palace with green stones covered in lichen under your feet. Water constantly dripped from the dome that was several meters high, causing the inside of the entire palace to be rather damp, which made the ground extremely slippery.]

[At the stone wall around the palace stood many stone sculpture guards, all equipped with armor and holding sharp weapons. Amidst these numerous figures, their weapons all pointed toward a spring at the very center of the palace.]

The imagined door-opening execution didn’t happen, the entrance to the tomb was actually safe.

Seeing nothing went wrong, without a word, Mu You quickly placed a Dark Teleportation Array at the entrance, to secure a safe retreat.

Upon collecting his thoughts, he carefully reviewed the information regarding the palace to find it primarily foreshadowed the spring water located at the center of the palace—it seemed to be suggesting he should go take a look.

Mu You clicked on the text labeled ’spring’.

[You pick your feet up, intending to approach and inspect the spring water.]

[You’ve just begun to move forward when an invisible pressure descends on you. This pressure isn’t harmful but does make your footsteps heavy and with each step you take, the weight increases!]

[When you finally make it to the spring after a strenuous journey, you feel as if you’re carrying a massive weight on your shoulders, making it extremely difficult to move.]

[You utilize the Omniscient Crystal to analyze the spring water in front of you and discover that this is the ’Cursed Spring’.]

[Cursed Spring: After drinking, it randomly adds a permanent curse to your current skin and grants you a temporary positive ability ’Pressure Lifted’—enabling you to temporarily resist the tomb’s oppressive force for a day.]

"Well, these conditions certainly aren’t equal!"

Mu You looked at the spring’s description.

In order to spend the day in the tomb, you have to receive a permanent curse. The crucial point is that it’s everlasting—who would dare to drink reckless?

Shaking his head, Mu You had his character leap over the Cursed Spring continuing forward, preparing to assess the situation first.

[You ignored the Cursed Spring, continuing to tread deeper into the palace.]

[You saw that at the far depth of the palace, there were six passage ways branching out in different directions.]

[You headed toward the nearest passage. However, by now the pressure on you was akin to thousands of pounds, making it difficult to move even an inch.]

[Despite the struggle, you managed to get in front of the passage. Just as you were about to take another step, a red-skinned Graveminder Gremlin suddenly jumped out from the passage and blocked your way.]

[Level 25 Graveminder Gremlin, Attack Strength 199-204, HP 17500, Magic 0!]

[’Any intruder must die!’ The Graveminder Gremlin bellows as it lunges at you and with a slap, turns you into a fog of blood.]

"Level 25!??"

Mu You’s heart pounded. Once he collected his thoughts, he promptly pressed on the Time Pocket Watch.

Initially he was quite happy to see a monster appear. He was already very close to level eight and thought that defeating a few small monsters would allow him to gain more experience.

However, unexpectedly, the first creature that emerged was of such a high level!

A level 25 wild monster, with up to 200 points of attack strength, still had three tiers of buff against him, tripling the damage up to 1600 points. No wonder it could turn him into a mist of blood with one slap!

Moreover, if the monster guarding the entrance was this strong, there was no need to mention what will be encountered deeper within the palace—it can only get worse...

[Time flows back, you return to five seconds before, now standing in front of the Cursed Spring again. This time, what do you choose?]

"I need to get out of here..."

Mu You admitted defeat, realizing that this place was clearly a high-level training area intended for godlike players, far beyond his current abilities to handle.

Having no choice, he can only mark the location for now and return when his level is high enough...

Mu You shook his head, ready to control his character to leave the tomb.

However, just as he was about to click on the option, he suddenly had a brainwave and realized something.

Even though he couldn’t defeat the monsters here, it seemed he possessed something that could—the Shadow Ghost!

According to Vivian, the destructive power of a Shadow Ghost was enough to demolish a country. And the wild monsters inside the tomb, regardless of their high levels, can’t possibly be more powerful than a Shadow Ghost, right?

If that was the case, he could simply release the Shadow Ghost here and it could wipe out all the monsters for him!

Of course, if he were to truly release the Shadow Ghost, two problems would arise.

The first one was about how to recover it afterward. If he let the Shadow Ghost out and couldn’t recapture it in the end but let it escape instead, that would spell big trouble. With the destructive power of this thing, the entire Foggy Mountain and nearby villages would suffer immense damage.

The second issue was the Shadow Ghost apparently needs to possess a body once released, and judging by the proximity, he seemed to be the best candidate...

Now, the question was, what could happen if you get possessed by a Shadow Ghost in the game?

After pondering for a while, Mu You drew a blank.

So, he took the box containing the Shadow Ghost out of his inventory and placed it into the game. He had his Time Pocket Watch at the ready, prepared to personally conduct an experiment.

Luckily, the Shadow Ghost wasn’t a life form but an emotional entity, so it wasn’t blocked and was smoothly inserted into the game.

[Once again, you approached the passage and heard the roar of the Graveminder Gremlin echo from within. You took out the box that carries the Shadow Ghost and recklessly opened the lid...]

[The Shadow Ghost escaped and immediately burrowed into your body!]

[You’re now under the control of the Shadow Ghost!]

[Under control, your game character cannot control its body, nor can you bring up panels, or make any choices, and you cannot gain experience or life. This state will persist until your body dies, or until the Shadow Ghost voluntarily leaves.]

[The Graveminder Gremlin again jumped out from the passage, loudly screaming as it lunged at you, but it was snatched by you—who were being controlled by the Shadow Ghost—and ripped apart.]

[You killed the Graveminder Gremlin, Experience +0, Life +0.]
