The Villainous Noble Regressed With The Villain System
Chapter 50: The Lotus Of Truth [2]

Chapter 50: The Lotus Of Truth [2]

Inside the Southern Forest of Grisha, in the deeper parts, where magical beasts roamed around like their habitat, fled instantly at the sight of a man, holding a large container of some kind of fluid.

There were many houses, built with brick, partly destroyed but still with a roof, where he was moving the container to.

As soon as he entered through the door, it kind of teleported him, to an unknown place outside the Kingdom Sylvanna itself.

The place he was teleported to, resembled a desert with literally just mountains of sand as much as the eyes could reach.

A gush of wind blew his bangs, as his face was covered with fresh blood, staining on his silver eye lids, and white muscular skin.

He was barefoot, and the only piece of cloth, covering him was an oversized pant, also with stains of fresh blood on it.

The large container was filled with a green colored fluid, viscous, and foul smelling.

Yet, despite being from a noble house, a Great one at that, he was never disgusted with such foul smells.

Most people, even commoners with cleaning works, would be repulsed by such a sight, but he was not bothered at all.

Instead he sat down on the sand, and unloaded the container on himself, as if he was taking a bath.

"Fuuuh! That felt good!"

Cedric Rowan, arguably the strongest knight in the entire continent, sat down in the middle of a desert, with his bare body out in the scorching sunlight.

Then, he took out two dolls made up of branches and soil, and kept them standing on the sand in front of him.

The air shimmered, warped by heat and dense with magic. The blood from Cedric’s finger trickled slowly onto the crude dolls. The moment it touched the earth-crafted effigies, the desert sand convulsed, as if something ancient beneath it had been disturbed from slumber.

A pulse of mana—sickly green and silver—flared outward in concentric rings, warping space itself. The surrounding dunes melted for a brief instant, revealing broken runes etched beneath the sand—glyphs of summoning, bound in blood.

The dolls twitched.

Then cracked.

The branches splintered apart with sickening snaps, and something crawled out.

First, came the groan—low, unnatural, neither dead nor alive. Then the limbs—or rather, the absence of them. Two figures emerged, their torsos dragging against the sand.

Varkhazel Noctis, the once-feared Night King, groaned, his fangs bared despite his limbless state. His crimson eyes flared with hatred and confusion. Ancient regal tattoos ran across his chest, faded and half-burnt, as though scorched by divine flame.

Beside him, the Radiata One squirmed, her long silver hair tangled with sand and broken roots, her lips bitten until they bled. She had no arms or legs either, but her expression remained eerily composed. Detached, like she’d foreseen this long ago.

Cedric Rowan grinned at them.

"Good morning, royalty of decay," he said, arms wide as if greeting old friends. "Or should I say... scraps of royalty."

"Address me as the Night King, you fool.", Varkhazel snapped.

"You call yourself the Night King? HAHAHAHAHAHA....", Cedric laughed his ass off, literally looking down at both of them, while the girl remained silent.

"Well then maybe I should give myself a title as well....... Like, the Knight King! Sounds cool, doesn’t it? You are the Night King, and I am the Knight King.", Cedric laughed it off as a joke, but Varkhazel was clearly frustrated.

Yet, he couldn’t do anything, because of the condition of his body.

Even if he got his original body, there was no chance for him to defeat Cedric at all.

"State your business.", Varkhazel told him with a stern expression on his face.

Cedric glanced at his crimson red eyes, and as if something clicked within him, Cedric threw a punch towards the limbless body of the night king, and in an instant, the body was destroyed, spilling blood and the inner contents of his gut, and brain matter everywhere.

Beside this scene, silently watching the Radiata One was terrified.

Her eyes wore curtains of disbelief of the scene in front of her.

She was a normal girl before transforming too.

The identities of monsters had flipped around, as he looked at the terrifyingly calm eyes of Cedric.

He sat down right in front of her limbless body, and stared into her eyes.

"Don’t worry. I won’t do that to you.", he reassured as if mocking her helplessness.

Then, he looked at the vast expanse of the desert, and chuckled.

"Do you know what the most terrifying thing is?", he stood up and asked this question to the girl.

"...."

"Come on! Give me an answer!"

"......Death?"

"Hmmmm...not quite right. If death was the most terrifying thing, then most of the wars could have been avoided. You see, for a knight, death on the battlefield is the most honorable thing to do. That’s because, his successors will surely remember him and his death as an honorable one."

Then, Cedric conjured a sword from thin air, and stabbed it on the sand, sending a shockwave, right below the sand mountains.

The ground shook violently, as if something was emerging from below.

Wind blew away the sand, making horrible scenes of sandstorms.

And with just a slash of his sword in the air, the sandstorm was neutralized, revealing what emerged from beneath the ground.

"The most terrifying thing to think of is erasure of someone’s existence...And not only from this world, but from the entire realm of all dimensions."

It was large, enough to rival the size of an entire mountain range, pointed end, and structure similar to that of a missile.

"This.....is my work, a state of art, if I must say, the nuclear warhead."

***

It was the old Dorian Valen.

But something was strange.

I have read the novel until Dorian’s death, which according to the scene in front of me is tomorrow.

The Emperor would give orders to the executioner to behead him tomorrow, in front of the people of the capital city.

And, this woman also came the night before the execution to demand some documents from him, in exchange for his life.

But the way the novel showcased this scene was nothing like this.

This dialogue of Dorian doesn’t fit into the story I have read so far.

So, is this a regression timeline?

That would explain most of the strange things, as I realized something very important.

The paths I saw while entering weren’t regular paths in a cave.

Maybe they were the paths to other regression timelines like this one.

If so, then, maybe I can watch and get to know what exactly happened in all the regressions, which led to the current version of me.

This is a chance to know my past, the one I have hidden in some corner of my mind.
