Shengxuan Entertainment’s casting call had a wide scope. Any role in the play was open to audition, and there were no restrictions on the age, profession, or status of the participants. Thus, a huge number of people entered the competition; it could be described as a sea of people.

Shengxuan’s new drama was an adaptation of a very popular online novel, and with the industry’s most famous director, Li Liqun, at the helm, and Shengxuan Entertainment’s own strength, it attracted a swarm of stars seeking representation, with managers calling incessantly.

Even An Yue, who had won the Best Actress award for two years in a row, had her manager inquire about the female lead role. However, Shengxuan had previously stated that the drama would feature all newcomers, so An Yue had no choice but to give up.

"Qinglan, just the number of people auditioning in Beijing is overwhelming. I feel intimidated just looking at the crowd," Yu Xiaoxuan stood at the audition site, internally anxious as she watched the throng of people inside.

Shen Qinglan wore sunglasses today; her large sunglasses covered half of her face. "You don’t need to be nervous. You’ve prepared well. As long as you perform as you’ve prepared, there will absolutely be no problem."

Her voice remained aloof and without a hint of emotion yet miraculously had a calming effect. Yu Xiaoxuan nodded heavily.

The line was long, and it would be a while before it was their turn. Yu Xiaoxuan casually glanced around and noticed that many people were holding sheets of paper, seemingly memorizing lines. Some were memorizing lyrics, while others were touching up their makeup in mirrors.

"Qinglan, help me check how my makeup looks today. Is there anything wrong?" Yu Xiaoxuan grabbed Shen Qinglan’s sleeve, asking nervously.

Shen Qinglan looked carefully at her face and shook her head, "Nothing wrong, it’s perfect."

Reassured by Shen Qinglan’s confirmation, Yu Xiaoxuan felt at ease.

The first round of auditions was straightforward. State the role you wish to audition for and then perform a talent of your choice. The content of the talent performance was entirely up to the participant.

Yu Xiaoxuan understood her position clearly. She wasn’t even aiming for the lead role but was eyeing the part of a clever and spirited girl by the female lead’s side. This role actually matched Yu Xiaoxuan’s natural temperament quite well.

Previously, Yu Xiaoxuan hadn’t ventured into this direction, and Shen Qinglan hadn’t noticed. While helping her prepare for the auditions in the past few days, Shen Qinglan realized Yu Xiaoxuan actually had a lot of talent in acting. Although it might be a bit exaggerated to talk about her acting skills now, she had a natural charm and was highly moldable. Additionally, with her connections, Han Yi would surely look out for Yu Xiaoxuan. At the very least, should Yu Xiaoxuan not want to, issues like being subjected to hidden rules would strictly not occur.

This was one of the reasons Shen Qinglan fully supported Yu Xiaoxuan’s foray into the entertainment industry. She didn’t have many friends, but she was willing to help the few she had within her means.

After waiting in line for about an hour, it was finally Yu Xiaoxuan’s turn. Shen Qinglan stood against the wall, arms crossed, and only looked away once Yu Xiaoxuan entered.

Suddenly, Shen Qinglan sensed someone’s gaze on her, radiating hostility. She turned her head sharply and spotted a pretty girl not far away.

Seeing Shen Qinglan look over, the girl smiled at her. Shen Qinglan averted her gaze, not intending to engage.

Unexpectedly, the girl actually walked over, approaching right next to her, "Hello, my name is Tang Mina. Are you here to audition too?"
