Chapter 996: Chapter 1022: Why Not Look in the Mirror

It was an internationally renowned authoritative competition, and all the attendees were prestigious designers from the fashion world.

However, there were particularly many competing designers, and Ye Ranran couldn’t guarantee success, she could only speak of making an effort.

Just after sending the message, her phone rang; it was Luo Qi calling.

"Sorry, Ranran, I fell asleep last night," yawned Luo Qi from the other end.

Ye Ranran checked the time: "Why are you up so early?"

"Woke up and missed you," cooed Luo Qi.

Ye Ranran felt a chill: "Really? Talk about something serious."

"I’ve found a new boyfriend, he’s a good person, likes me a lot, and takes good care of me," Luo Qi reported Lin Yan’s words and actions, one by one, to Ye Ranran.

"Xiao Qi, you’re really in love," Ye Ranran said that to Luo Qi after listening.

Luo Qi was startled: "Really? Is this what love is?"

"He seems to be a nice guy, cherish him," Ye Ranran blessed Luo Qi no matter what.

That silly girl deserved happiness.

A smile played on Ye Ranran’s face; she genuinely felt happy for Luo Qi.

After hanging up the phone, she continued to clasp the mobile in her hand.

While she was daydreaming, the office door was pushed open, and she looked up to see a person who shouldn’t be there: the ethereal Song Ze.

She put away her phone, closed the important documents, leaving the desk bare.

"Why have you come?" Her tone was a bit hostile.

Facing that face, she couldn’t bring herself to be truly harsh, but she also couldn’t bring herself to like him again.

Sometimes she envied him; how nice it would be to forget, to act as if nothing had happened, with the past vanishing in the flow of time.

But as he discarded the past, she remembered everything clearly, occasionally even hearing his dependent words in her dreams.

All of Ye Ranran’s relatives had left her, so she treasured the few who were truly good to her.

Song Ze of the past had treated her with a pure heart.

"Does Ranran not welcome me?" Song Ze took a seat opposite her boldly.

"Of course, you’re not welcome." She didn’t want to see him now for fear she wouldn’t be able to stop herself from slapping him.

"Ranran talking like this might break my heart, I thought you’d be happy to see me," Song Ze’s gaze deepened, filled with tumultuous waves that Ye Ranran couldn’t understand.

Ye Ranran couldn’t bother to think too deeply; she knew only to be guarded.

"You saying that saddens me, considering how I’ve been thinking of you," Song Ze took on a sorrowful expression to match his words.

"Thinking of what? How to kill me?" Ye Ranran smiled coldly.

Besides such thoughts, she couldn’t imagine what else he might be pondering.

"You’re looking at this the wrong way, Ranran, I can think of your beautiful face, or your smile," he said.

Ye Ranran felt disgusted: "Then you might as well look at yourself in the mirror."

He was much more beautiful than she was.

"Ranran really likes to joke," Song Ze laughed, no longer cold.

Ye Ranran couldn’t comprehend what he was up to; she could only watch him calmly, her clear gaze like limpid water reflecting one’s thoughts.

"I came today to catch up with Ranran," Song Ze’s smiling face became more reserved, his eyes deep as if trying to see right through Ye Ranran.

Such a look made Ye Ranran feel uncomfortable inside.

"Ask whatever you want to ask," she would pick the questions she liked to answer, and for the ones she didn’t like, she would decline to respond.

"Why did you save me back then?" Song Ze voiced the question he most wanted to ask.
