Chapter 982: Chapter 1008: That’s All There Is to It
"I never thought like that, I genuinely want to help you, I’ve run missions over there before, know a few people, helping is just a matter of a few words, I’m not expecting anything in return," Xia Qing hurriedly explained.
"I don’t want to see any of you, I don’t want to see a single one of you, all of you get out," Huo’s mother drove them away.
"Let’s go, we’re leaving," Huo’s father took Xia Qing and left.
Watching the two figures retreating, a dark glint flashed through Ye Ranran’s eyes.
She thought of a way to save Huo Yi.
"Mom, don’t be angry, from now on just treat them like the trash you’ve already thrown out, just keep throwing it away," Ye Ranran said in an unusually indifferent tone.
"You," Huo’s mother was amused by her.
"Mom, I have to go now."
Huo’s mother didn’t hold her back, "Go on then, go, and remember to tell me as soon as you have an answer, and remember to take good care of yourself."
By taking care of herself, she was also protecting Jun Mochan.
"Mm, I know," Ye Ranran replied.
Once she was in the car, Ye Ranran wanted to call Xia Qing, but when she opened her contact list, she remembered she didn’t have Xia Qing’s number.
"Xia Qing’s number, give it to me," Ye Ranran said.
The person beside her sat rigidly upright, as if he hadn’t heard a thing.
Ye Ranran repeated herself.
Still no reaction.
"I said give me Xia Qing’s number," Ye Ranran finally looked up.
"Is Madam talking to me?" Number Three pointed to himself, looking a bit flattered.
"If not you then am I talking to ghosts? Hurry up and check Xia Qing’s number for me," Ye Ranran gave him a disdainful look.
He seemed sharp enough, but why so foolish? She wondered.
Who would protect whom if a conflict arose?
"Madam, one moment," Number Three hurriedly contacted his sources and quickly relayed a string of numbers to Ye Ranran.
"Thanks," Ye Ranran entered the number, flipped her hair, and made the call.
Strands of hair landed on Number Three’s face, wafting a faint fragrance into his nostrils; he quickly moved a bit further away.
Ye Ranran didn’t mind his action.
"Ye Ranran," the person on the other end seemed to have been waiting for her call, picking up as soon as she dialed.
"Do you have time? Let’s meet up," Ye Ranran got straight to the point.
"Location," Xia Qing asked curtly.
Ye Ranran mentioned a café close to J.C.
"Okay," Xia Qing was very straightforward.
A radiant smile emerged from the corners of Ye Ranran’s lips.
"Should I report to the young master?" Number Three asked.
"Report what? Don’t disturb him unnecessarily; I can go by myself," Ye Ranran shot him a glare.
Impressed by her determination, Number Three conceded, though the young master had instructed that everything should be reported to him.
Reservedly, Number Three sneakily reported to Jun Mochan behind Ye Ranran’s back.
Almost immediately after Number Three’s message went out, Jun Mochan’s call came.
"Are you afraid I might run off with someone?" Ye Ranran teased Jun Mochan.
Did she really seem so unreliable?
"Naturally, I’m afraid you might leave me. Are you meeting Xia Qing now?" The latter question was the real concern.
"Yes, she and dad just came over, said they have a way to save big brother, but the condition is making Xia Yi acknowledge his ancestral roots." It sounded noble but was essentially a fight over inheritance.
Ye Ranran was clear about it, and so was Jun Mochan.
"You can go, I won’t stop you, but be extra careful. Xia Qing is tricky," Jun Mochan advised.
"You know, do you really think your wife is just that capable?" Ye Ranran’s eyebrows soared with confidence.
